What is constant in this world is Change. If you look at the history of Yakshagana, what many are thinking as 'Original' in Yakshagana was never Original actually. It has been continuously changing in its form for more than 100 years now. From the ages of Adi shankaracharya to the times of Shivarama Karantha,
Yakshagana has seen lot of changes in it.People who resist these changes in Yakshagana are doing so only because they have seen such things in Movies first, and they can't take it when they see the same thing in Yakshagana. That is because of the boundaries they have put themselves for the growth of an art. Everyone had admired and welcomed the changes when Dr. Karanth converted Yakshagana into Ballet long back.
If the changes are creative enough and healthy they are always welcome. This particular dance of "Pata" will not cause any damage to any kind of art. Moreover It carries great messages for the new generation. After all, an art is just an expression of Joy! Please Enjoy it...!!!
Chee... Thuu... What next ?.. a rape scene ? or undressing and having sex ? I think we should realize that the original culture should remain original. No one should try to make it a modern culture.
