Hey Casey, my wife and I love your videos. Very clear and understandable. We are fairly new to the crypto space and trying to absorb as much knowledge as possible. We appreciate this guide to evaluating L1 & L2 cryptos. Our question though is this; where do you find the answers to these questions? What are the resources you use? Could you do a video that is a deep dive into how a person would go about finding the answers to all these critical questions? Please keep up the great work and wonderful videos.

Great video well explained and the economy analogy is a great way to approach what a layer 1 / layer 2 actually is. Very well done. A good follow up might be demonstrating some online resources to collect the data as listed in the 4 main categories.
Casey, I love your videos! Best that I have uncovered. I completely agree we need to switch over to business cases for these tokens. I just sold 50 'alts' that I felt were never coming back off bottom. However I lack the research finesse to find out which ones have a business case and you are the first person I have found that thinks like me. Question: How do I uncover which tokens are Layer 1 or Layer 2, have the best use case, Have the Human, Financial and infrastructure support to scale up? I am not going to get it off their White Paper or web site. Do I just google it? Example, despite all the ra ra XRP is being used in both South America and Africa. I only know this through the news.
Unlike stocks I cannot pull up a simple description that lays it all out before me. Where do I go to gather the information on these tokens?
I've learned more about crypto from Casey, than from any other RUclipsr who just predict prices. She helps to understand the fundamentals so we make better decisions. Thanks Casey.

Just wondering which money these Level 1 will use considering the US Dollar is on its way to being removed as the world reserve currency and about to collapse? Which fiet currency is worth a shit? I would think they should be accumulating gold and silver and other hard assets.

I agree with your take. Only thing I would add is that according to your goals you might want to emphasize some points over the other. A VC funded L1 chain might be optimal in terms of resources to develop and maintain their ecosystem, but it is also far more likely to be closed source, permissioned or captured by institutions. It wouldn't be "decentralized" enough so to speak.
Most L1 chains are VC funded. For a project that intends to be a censorship resistant p2pcash, you will surely want to find alternative funding sources to VCs. Asking for donations won't suffice, especially for the long term. This is a big ongoing issue in the bitcoin and its forks in particular.
The eCash blockchain maintained by Bitcoin ABC (founders of BCH) have implemented an independent on chain funding mechanism, to ensure at least minimal resources insuring independence from VCs.
