One of the first games I remember playing, and still stands as one of my all time favorite Nintendo games. My poor cube gave out before I could ever 100% this game. So incredible to see a game i spent a year and a half trying to complete finished in just under an hour and a half. Good job, man.
This game still remains my favorite, seeing all the neat tricks you use to get all the bananas brings me back, this was my childhood, I finally beat it 100% a while back and I might do it again for old time's sake

I find any boss that isnt a Hog to be really fun generally. Been a bit since I played but the most recent memory of heavy routing for me was in Peach to work in that zip and still get enough bananas which was a neat challenge (for this category in particular)
I have to say it’s ridiculous with the amount of ways you can speedrun through this game in the GameCube version! ^^ I have wonder how fast you can speedrun the wii version, since that’s the version I have, but hands down, this is one of the most unique games in the series, and I love this game a lot! Sure it’s not as well loved as other entries in the series, but it’s got its charm that makes it just a bit more special and unique than other games that’s for sure ^^
There are some people that do speedruns of the wii version, I can't speak much to it but if you look around RUclips or through the leader boards on speedrun.com you should be able to find them
my favorite levels in this game used to be the cloud levels for some reason also dk must've felt awful when i was raging at chili pepper kingdom because i kept getting hit at the end of every single combo i attempted i really wish there was a successor to this game, be it official or spiritual

1:24:56 can I just say this by a long shot is the best combo music track of the whole game! It almost feels like a fontrunning theme you hear in Mario kart honestly! Which is great to me!
24:14 I have to say donkey Kong was killing the damage game! But this tells me that it’s possible to skip phase 2 completely if your fast enough with damage. In the GameCube version anyway.
Yeah that's what I was going for here, skipping the third cycle is actually not too hard but I tried to do it with the second phase starting at 300 health, which skips a short cut scene as well. Didn't work out and I lost like 12 seconds but oh well,
Takes a bit of practice I guess. With the Rocs that I do in 2 cycles (or chains if you prefer) the harder part really is that the first has to end before 300 so the cutscene of the boss becoming angry never plays. Still not the worst with some practice. The Hogs can be done in 2 cycles with only using 1 coconut each time, however I can't mash quite fast enough to do that. Anyway I dont know how much you cared for all that extra info but youre gettin it anway!
@@boon9924 I definitely appreciate you telling me it, I play on wii and my wii is a bit old and insensitive to some of the controller inputs so I know there's no way it'd work for me (getting in 4 or 5 cycles is probably the best it will go on mine) but this is one of my favourite games from my childhood and just watching your speedrun brought back some amazing memories for me and showed me just how insane it can get. All the info was pretty interesting as well so thank you for that

@@waterwraith3334 takes some practice but u get into the rhythm of it, in the case of the bird bosses I use my thumbs but the others I use the space between my palm and fingers. Also not quite up to Par with the TAS, but thank you

In that case I managed to beat it, and I tried the game both with the DK bongos and the normal controller, and came to the conclusion that the bongos are the better way to play the game (which I guess might’ve been obvious). And I did enjoy and like the game ❤

Well the dev team for this game did go on to make Mario galaxy, so I would imagine they reused some of the sounds, neat stuff

Not particularly, especially if you have played through the whole game regularly it's not much more a challenge, couple levels maybe tough
