One of the best Ukes I've played! I like everything about it besides the price... I got an Enya S1 tenor instead. Not as nice, but more affordable for sure, more of a value buy in the spruce/rosewood combo. One of my favorites, would love you to review one!
After seeing your review of this aNueNue Uke and watching Vanessa Ding play this same Uke on You Tube, I knew that I had to have one. The problem is that there are no dealerships for aNueNue in the US. There are in the UK but, I soon found out that no one had one. So, I E-Mailed aNueNue (in Taiwan) and they quickly replied back and said that they could sell me one directly but, they were currently out of them as well. However, they would reserve one for me (without a deposit) that would be ready by the end of December (about 4 weeks later). Anyway, I got it yesterday and could not be happier. May I echo the 8 Wow’s in the 8 seconds you did in your review? :) Anyway, outside of the beauty of this Uke (and case), it does play as well as it looks. The one thing that really amazes me is the sustain. Wow (8 times again). It goes on and on and on and on. I still can’t get over that. Anyway, for me it is a 10 out of 10 and now it will be my primary prized Uke. So, thanks to your wonderful review and thanks to aNueNue, I have my keeper. BTW, aNueNue was really great to do business with and kept me informed throughout the process. Also, the only change I made to this Uke was to replace the normal G string with a Fremont low G string. Just my preferences. :) This is a Uke, I will cherish.
Glad you got one - yes, their distribution channels are not good, but are improving. 6 months ago, there was no UK distributor either. Johnson at aNue Nue is a really helpful and nice chap though!
GotAUkulele It's now May 2017 and it blows my mind with all these great instruments and potential buyers (like me) in the United States that there is not a single authorized dealer here. At one tone I see UkeRepublic was a dealer, but I don't know what happened there. I did have a recent communication wit aNueNue and they said they were more than happy to sell to me directly as they did with Greg (above). I was luck enough to grab a bargain (about 1/3 of original retail) of a really nice aNueNue WAE2 which is their World Series American Eagle Ukulele in Concert size. After watching your reviews on this Moon Bird and the Africa Mahogany II Concert, I think I may have to go direct with the aNueNue factory and get one of my own. I do wish though they would get a dealer back in operation in the USA...
I could not be happier with my UT200 Uke. It is a dream to play and feels great and, looks great as well. I don't play any of my other Uke's very much at all now. The quality on this is amazing. I am now looking at their Koa 3K. Anyway, a very very much thanks to GotAUkulele for reviewing this Uke and opening my eyes. Thanks Barry, keep up the great work you do!
Beauty. And thanks for setting people straight on the gains in Chinese building. I started out as a bowed strings luthier - then went into guitars and ukes. There are some brilliant builders in China now. I get tired of 'know-it-all' guitar types dismissing entire regions based on hearsay. I had someone bashing Chinese instruments the other day - and it turned out their main instrument was a recently made Guild GAD acoustic made in, yes you guessed it, China!
The problem with ukuleles (and guitars as well I suppose) is that China has been (and still is) responsible for some absolutely shocking stuff that should never see the light of day. So I guess people assume that they are all like that. The reality is, there some incredibly talented luthiers in China, as there are in any country.
Kop Prophet These are possibly made in China, but it's a Taiwanese brand😬I hate seeing crazy political debates on whether Taiwan is/should be a part of China but in terms of brands and products they're definitely not the same region. You're absolutely right that entire regions shouldn't be dismissed just like that though. That's not only unfair, but ignorant too.
It costs around 1k in usd here in Kong Kong. I have tried this model really surprising me. It is a Taiwan brand manufacturing in China and mainly retail in China and Japan.
Wow! That's a beautiful instrument. It's a good thing it's not available in the USA at this time as I couldn't afford it anyway, so now I don't have to feel bad about that.
Just treated myself to a Nuenue Moon Bird concert. It looks and feels amazing and sounds incredible even in my incompetent hands. A ukulele for life. Thank you World of Ukes for being at Cheltenham Festival. Roy May.
nice could you tell me is the width nut the same as the tenor or is it a little bit smaller just cant make my mind up from the tenor to the concert Thanks
This is such a boss instrument, it seems to really bring life into wherever it's at! I have a question, though - what passage do you play at 8:37? Anyway, this was a great review and I definitely enjoyed it

hi m8, brilliant reviews by the way, I own a Kala long neck soprano which I really like(solid spruce top). I want to buy a better quality soprano with a wider nut width than normal, what would u recommend please.........£100 - £300 range.
The only wide nut sopranos that I can think of in that price range would be a Flea or a Kiwaya. If you can push up to circa £550 you could get close to a Koaloha Soprano (wonderful instruments). Other option is to buy used.
Hey Barry, I have a Tanglewoood TU6 soprano uke about £25..the noise is clean and loud and it's very well built...However when I play the G major chord, for example, it sounds out of tune because the G note on the E string is higher than the open string and the D note is high as well...can I do something for it?
Yes, you probably can - it sounds like an intonation issue. Could be several things. 1. bridge too high, 2. nut too high or 3. (most likely if it's just one or two strings) that the break angle at the nut or saddle needs adjusting. It can be done at home if you have the right tools for the nut, but equally something that any guitar tech in a music store 'should' be able to adjust. Nuts and saddles on ukuleles are designed to be adjusted for exactly this reason.
