I was once able to post out of my bunker because I knew there was someone one bunker ahead of me, preparing to run me down, because he let some paintballs roll out from behind his bunker while he filled his hopper. It was one of the coolest feelings ever, but it's never happened again.

Solid tips but I'd like to add that in order to use a lot of these cues you need to have a solid grasp of the layout you're playing on. Often times I can tell where an opposing player is based off the angle the paint is coming in from (i.e. reading the paint). Then there's also the tried and true: communication with your teammates. Especially if you're a front player, establish communication with your back players who have better vision down field.

Totally agree. Knowing the layout is a prerequisite to any of this :) And, there's nothing better than getting a clear picture of what's in front of you from your back player as a front player. Thank you!

I agree with several of the comments that have been made cause I'll do the same thing at times. Taking a quick glimpse at the refs, the photographers, and the crowd. All good visual cues as to where opposing players could potentially be at. Now granted, definitely don't want to get tunnel vision while doing any of these. That seems to be an issue at times with players and I'm just as guilty of it at times...freaking tunnel vision....

It’s super hard to overcome; tunnel vision, that is. Thank you for sharing!!

If there are spectators you can sometimes look to see where they are looking (similar to @King Con's ref comment) but sometimes they will cheer too. This may be mostly for larger tournaments like NXL. Also, barrel "smoke", especially if it's cooler or raining.

I like both of those, especially barrel smoke. That’s a really good one, thank you!

@@SVPPaintball I just need to hone those skills on the field now lol.
I tend to find myself in the heat of the moment and miss key call outs kill counts moves.
I watched your front players guide lastnite.
Tremendous content. Gonna apply what I learned from it tomorrow at practice.

I always look for photographers/ videographers on the sideline.
Here’s an example: around the 1:30 mark in the video I linked below, a videographer starts walking down the snake with his camera pointed down, letting me know someone was crawling into the 50 snake with me. So I wrapped and shot him. Rip lol
