Made in Abyss is one of those shows where once you finish/catch up to where it leaves off, you're left staring out the window with no sense of purpose. I binged the entire series (or what's out so far) over a weekend earlier this year, and when I caught up, I was genuinely kind of depressed and apathetic for a few days. I had a hard time getting invested in any other different anime I tried watching for like a week lol.
I had the same exact feelings as you did. I think its a universal feeling when it comes to this anime bc you are so immersed in its world and the story its trying to tell.

Let me tell you Ive been watching anime for years since the 90's, Ive watched over 300 shows at this point & have heard countless soundtracks as well. So believe me when I say that VOH is the most hauntingly good OST Ive have ever heard from anime so far PERIOD. There's such a primal essense to this song that it just speaks straight to your soul & takes you on an absolute journey no matter how many times you listen to it.
I cannot recommend this series enough, it is by no means an easy watch at times but I would love to see you guys go through it on the channel so you can grow a new attachment to these tracks and hear them in the context of this absolute rollercoaster of a series. This soundtrack is such a crucial part of Made in Abyss's identity, I cannot imagine anyone else that could nail the feel of the show other than the GOAT Kevin Penkin. Please consider giving it a watch on the channel:)
Old stories, rumble of a scientific triumph, prayer and immolation, transendece and henezeve, three sages, belafs lullaby, tomorrow, forever lost, endless embrace, there are a couple of others i dont remember off of the top of my head but if you havent reacted to any of those songs, i recommend it
The stuff Kevin is creating is fucking magic. The whole soundtrack is full of crazy tracks like this, especially from the movie and the second season, when everything gets super alien. I love that he just blends everything with electronic music seamlessly.

As far as I know, VOH didn't actually get used in the show yet. Or maybe only a small snippet of it, if it did. It might be getting held in reserve for the third season, though if it is, that's gonna be a long way off. 3-4 more years probably. Either way, it's a show worth watching. And the third movie, Dawn of the Deep Soul (movie 1 and 2 are recaps of the show). It's weird and disturbing and beautiful in ways that are hard to put into words, and leaves you feeling emotionally drained when it's over.
Realized after listening to Gravity that some of them lines and parts were stolen off of the music or song from the movie Highlander lol. Anyone who seen it knows its sadness.
