@@sydwhitaker5776 Nope. But people believe it was Elvis because directors of "Walk the Line" film just wrote that into the script. It was fiddle player Gordon Terry that gave Johnny his first introduction to amphetamines in 1957. Many of Johnny biographers have documented this.

elvicare35 he sure did! He would pull pranks on his band members literally *all the time!* One almost got someone killed though. Elvis once told JD Sumner and his Stamps that there was a disgruntled husband or boyfriend that didn’t like how his woman acted because of Elvis and was going to do him in (this is entirely far fetched since not a whole buncha dudes liked the Elvis, the OG Mr. Steal Ya Girl and had empty threats about it before.) Elvis asked them while they were performing to keep on eye on the crowd and look for anything suspicious. JD and the Stamps all took it seriously and the show went perfectly. Afterwards, Elvis and the Stamps were in his room and two of Elvis’s bodyguards came in with masks and started shooting pistol blanks at Elvis. Everyone jumped behind the furniture and J.D. took Elvis to the ground and shielded him with his own body and thought Elvis was trembling because he was so scared but realized he was laughing. It was a hilarious prank but they didn’t know one of them had a loaded pistol on the counter just a few feet away and it could’ve gone a bit different. But Elvis would do just about anything for a good prank and a great laugh.

Sumner & The Stamps and when they sang for Elvis and also when he left to join the Oak Ridge Boys. Lots of great history about bass singing, Elvis and of course, the Oaks.

Absolutely. Johnny wasn't given the credit he deserved. He helped lay the groundwork for a variety of genres. Cash paved the way for rock, punk, and alternative as well as continue the legacy of blues and gospel.

This is classic! They toured together and were friends. Johnny even honored Elvis when he passed the following Christmas. I love this and I’m sure Elvis did too. 😂

You could say the same about Cash. He is still one of the most emulated country singers of this time, and probably the most influential as well next to Hank Sr.
