    I'm filming musicvideos with a sound engeneer in the studio simultaneously. Our Plan is that he can edit the Music audio connected to the ltc timecode. Is there an option, that i can import the final Audio file (with many audio cuts) with the LTC code and let the Program (Adobe Premiere or Pluraleyes) sync the video files to the LTC code. There are many tutorials how to sync LTC, but its always the LTC coming from the cameras. The program would have to cut files by itself to match the cut files from the audio and should also repeat itself if the file is used later again in the timeline. I hope you understand my question ;) Thanks for your help in advance.

    Bravo! Good idea to reveal the elephant in the room: clock drift. One remark: audio AUX track SMPTE longitudinal time code _is_ time code. But you're right, file metadata tag named timecode by Apple or whoever IS NOT timecode, it's a _time stamp_ . BTW, here's a pet project of mine: tictacsync

    Hi Henri. Thank you for this video. I have tried to link up a timecode box to a Sennheisser EW 100 G3 system to transmit the LTC, but the RF signal seems to degrade to a point where the slate won't register the LTC. Which wireless transmitter did you use? Thanks

    I'm trying to do a multi cam edit with clips from 3 GoPro cameras over about a 2 hour period. Unfortunately it seems that the time on the cameras wasn't set properly so the clips aren't lining up in Premiere. The audio on the 3 cameras is different so I can't sync by that.
    What's the best way to get the clips aligned properly and do a multi camera edit?
    I'm hoping that you smart, experienced video people can help me. Thanks!

    Great video, it's possible to genlock two cameras without genlock (but with timecode in) and an external generator or an external recorder such a Shogun 7?
    Thanks

    • @henrirapprecording
      @henrirapprecording  4 года назад +1

      So Arri cameras are the only ones on the market that can be genlock Ed based on incoming TC. You put them in Regen then go into the sensor setting select sync source to generate genlock based on incoming Timecode. Outside of Arri cameras that’s not possible though. Some external recorders do allow you to genlock them though from my understanding if you genlock the camera and feed the recorder over SDI you shouldn’t need to additionally genlock the recorder. Many will also lock into LTC in the SDI signal, such as the Odyssey 7Q. What I would personally suggest is looking into the Timecode Systems Ultrasync Ones. They can be setup to work as a master or slave and can provide Timecode, Genlock, and Wordclock so if each device in set has one, everything will be locked perfectly in setup with one another. Hope this helps!

    • @dingdong5601
      @dingdong5601 Год назад

      Gopros record audio to short answer, yes. The newer ones have a usb-c interface so you'd need to get the adapter that has a 3.5mm input for a gopro. Then just get a Tentacle Sync for all your cams/recorder.

    Henri, thanks very much! I am trying to understand if I could have frame-accurate sync while playing back audio on set from protools ( or another app) and have that play back app tell the camera(s) to start recording.

    • @henrirapprecording
      @henrirapprecording  4 года назад

      That is possible from my understanding but not every camera system would allow that workflow. For true frame accurate sync you’d need a master clock for true frame accurate sync that provides wordclock and genlock. That being said if it’s music playback then likely that’s beyond the level of accuracy you’d need and could rely on Timecode alone. What you need to do is stripe the music with audio Timecode, then feed that on an independent output to the camera Timecode with the camera setup to trigger recording based on incoming Timecode. So when you hit play cameras roll and when you stop playback they cut. If you’d like to chat more about your specific use case add me on Facebook or Instagram and shoot me a message.

      Andre Philips haha sorry to disappoint but no teleprompter though that would probably make things easier. In preparation for this video I wrote a companion article and just took it section by section till I got it right. It’s not read from a script but just in each part worked out what I wanted to say, did a few rehearsals, then a few takes till I didn’t mess up.

    Someone should tickle this guy until he either bursts out laughing hysterically or screams; it's obvious his parents spoiled him so they could ignore him. Sorry, but when I watch someone like this afraid to offer anything more than a tiny trembly smile while dutifully (to who?) intoning whatever, it makes the info he's shyly/scaredly offering seem isolated to his own tremulous perception at best.
