      I wish they squished it more.... Example... I wish bosses had 1k hp and we hit for 20-30. And if we find a weapon that has +4 to damage you can actually see your attack grow to 24-34.
      I hate that there are millions and trillions of damage with bosses having multi million hp. It's just dumb to have huge numbers. I'd rather have meaning ful numbers that are easily readable and not this 20% lucky hit chance with two-handed weapons that have 4x multiplicative damage of 10% of your maximum armor that is buffed 8% of your max health when in berserk mode while you swap weapons 6 times you also do 2x multiplicative damage 13% additive of your movement speed bonus.
      Like wtf is that?!?! Just let me do "x" damage and my next weapon upgrade has +2 more damage... That's an obvious change and one that can be followed easily.

    Hmmm. Isn't this functionally the same as in the current game? Level 1-50 awards you Skill points for your skill tree. Level 51-100 awards you Paragon point for the Paragon board. (4 paragon points per level or 200 paragon points).
    With this change, Level 1-60 will award skill points for your skills (+10 skill points from vanilla). Then instead of Level 61-110 awarding 4 paragon points per level, it will now just be called Paragon Level 1-200.
    So, they're just changing the name.

      Exactly. There should be a max clear speed that is set from the very beginning when the games comes out. Then everything scales to you and your numbers.
      It's not hard to implement. I don't want POE copy, where it's essentially a running simulator and you don't see what you are fighting. You don't pay attention to the world, don't pay attention to the monsters, to the bosses, as you kill them in less than seconds.

      @@KrayZieTyler in general yes, but at some point your mind cannot even handle these numbers anymore. like in the billions and so on another 0 at the end is not nearly as recogniceable as the difference between 100 and 1000, so at least for me that dopamine never worked. But another thing is the scaling affixes in the newer games. In the old games there where some base items in different categories, that had all the same stats - like a sword at lvl 60 would have the same stats when you find it at lvl 100. The only difference where affixes and these where in brackets. Like there wasnt this steady dripfeed progression that somehow needs to be reflected in the numbers.
      you could find the best sword in the game at 60 and thats it - no need to replace it ever. But it seems like they wanted to expand the progression so you can upgrade more often (dopamine again?) so stuff scales up tremendously.
      i would really like they get away with item power completly, just have normal, sacred and ancestral - all base items have the same stat. Then the affixes only scale in brackets with "item level" like they do now, and a lot of the number creep is gone. Then they can tone down some of the multiplies too - no one needs 80% more fireball damage - why istn''t it 10% more? like 10 items would still double your damage but now your equipment makes it x 100 or even more. It basically demands certain items while you could live with 10% less damage if you are missing one way more easily.
      Also the balancing wouldnt be so problematic - right now missing an item that x10 your damage is a big deal - how would you balance your content? fully geared?, then its too hard unless you have perfect quipment, mediocre gear? then world bosses suddenly get oneshot. The number creep is the biggest enemy. It has a reason the classic rpgs used very low numbers eg. DnD

Heck, POE is allowing you to mix and match different play styles/character types so you can be a "tanky/melee/sorcerer" so I'd imagine Blizz is doing the above to allow a barb to utilize some type of "magic" or unique built.

      @@TheGuitarmageddon Both areas just don’t have enough room to squeeze content into as new regions. While I do agree that fits with what I think the long term plans are, you also need to think about what people are willing to buy. Skovos and Xiansai together would barely be enough to be an expansion, so doing them separately just wouldn’t make sense. Unless they wanted to add smaller bite sized DLCs on par with Nova Covert Ops for SC2 or the Necromancer Pack for D3 I don’t think there’s enough there for both places to be individual DLCs.
      Edit: I could see maybe a higher priced episodic DLC like a Travels of Neyrelle type thing where maybe every 2 seasons you get a small chunk of DLC content (about 1/3rd or 1/4th of an act in size.) where you go to Xinsai, Skovos and maybe The Cold Isles we learn about in Diablo Immortal.
      I think the biggest issue with them being separate DLCs and Acts is the current Acts and the one we're getting in VoH have such massive areas that a DLC with a third or fourth of the explorable area just wouldn't land well, especially at normal expansion prices.

We'll have to wait and see, then temper expectations based on what we get. I do think that in terms of the major areas of each continent we'll get a proper expansion and decent bit of content but for the island areas like Hawezar and Skovos, I just don't think there would be enough room physically to add enough content to warrant an individual expansion for each. Max level cap being "lowered" to 60 is amazing. It will be functionally the same as the current game, but will make much more sense in the long term assuming the devs will increase the level cap. Besides right now the level cap is basically 50, and they increased it to 60. This is similar to what they've done in WoW. Level cap was 120 after many expansions, and they did a number-squish across the game, level cap became 50, and went up to 60 with Shadowlands.
    I'll go further - I think Diablo needs a number squish across the board. It might seem meaningless to most but for me, small numbers, numbers we're familiar with on daily basis have more impact than millions and billions. Since the game's development I wanted let's say. 10k dps to be a crazy high amount. 100k gold to be an insanely high number. I think when equipping a new weapon, when your hits jump from lets say 465'052'102 damage to 784'052'102, that feels less meaningful than when they jump from 465 to 784.

    What if it's a stat squish and the "level reduction" is just to get people into the end game activities more quickly by level 60. By having all your skill points and potions unlocked by 60, it would catapult you in to the end game which lets you play more with the builds and would build diversity so you are not shoe horned in to a build early on that doesn't really pan out later.

    It's like you said in the video, since you started getting paragon points at level 50, the expansion basically gives you "10 additional levels" and probably some more additional skillpoints you can spend in your skill tree. That in itself is not a bad thing. What is worrying, is that the increase in power you still got from level 50 to 100 will most likely be gone. Probably the feeling of power along with it. That will "hurt" for a lot of players and maybe even as a "betrayal", especially since it's such a big change in such a short time. I'm still on the fence when it comes to the timing of these changes and the "lack of communication" regarding these planned changes. If you want to gain trust within your community, i believe you'll want to communicate these plans sooner for something like a live service game. That way you can also collect the feedback from your playerbase before making said changes, rather then "confronting" them with it, see how it goes and revert it if your players don't like it. That will hurt even more...
    To be perfectly honest, even though the past few seasons have shown a lot of promise for the future, it's news like this and seeing that they are planning an expansion on a yearly basis (even the base game has been released only just over a year ago). It doesn't give me a lot of confidence that things are well thought out, tested and feedback has been processed. So, i'm not planning to purchase the expansion at this time. I need to see what they are planning / doing with the game to determine it that will slowly keep increasing my trust, or if it dips again.
    Only time will tell.

    I fail to see how you call s4 balance and associate it with progression… failed tempering 9.7 times out of 10 or keep resetting master working to get at least 2 cries on one stat and after 3 months 5h game play a day still haven’t archived that and no one getting close to beating lvl 200 pit (I can go on for days) … none of this is a balanced game with progression and rewarding for the time spent. It’s just mindless attempts against a rigged slot machine…

    one of the problem with union is, in Canada, hard workers and lazy workers get treated same... imo, it's not fair and makes hard working people doesn't want to work hard... also costs so much more for employers which means laying off employees or the price of the product gets higher.. either way affects customers

    • @Muck-da
      @Muck-da Месяц назад

      I mean yeah you can have lazy workers but at the same time, overworked and under compensated workers will also result in the same product that is subpar. Employees should be getting paid higher wages for the products they create, especially video game developers. Just means that the CEO and management class have to take pay cuts and stop getting million dollar bonuses for the profits that are usually the result of the worker.

    Just convenience. Much easier for player to read and programmer with separate levels for skills and paragon. So when the expansion launches you can migrate characters consistently. Otherwise migrating level 50+ characters will result in mixed skill/paragon points for the same level.

    Haven't played D4 in around a year and a half now, and so far it looks like exactly what i figured was going to happen has been happening.
    I was optimistic when it was originally talked about way way back, but once it released i was a bit disappointed to see how close it was to Diablo Immortal.
    They haven't implimented any of the previous successful mechanics from Diablo 2 or 3, no synergies like from D2 although they did try their hands at a unique synergistic system through the equipment for skills and such.
    All in all, im still not coming back, but I hope for the players still optimistic and enjoying the content that they are rewarded for their loyalty and patience.

    The Paragon system needs to work like Diablo 3 where you can endlessly gain them to increase your power level as long as you keep playing. It makes no sense to me how I cannot gain any more power or strength no matter how much I play now

  • @endersblade
    @endersblade Месяц назад

    Realistically, it's just a number. If it takes 10 hours to currently hit 100, and after the expansion it takes 10 hours to hit level 60, there's no difference. It could show 100, 1000, or 10,000, if it takes 10 hours to hit cap, then you are as powerful at 10 hours as you would be regardless of the level number.

  • @xianritchie
    @xianritchie Месяц назад

    This might be slightly off, as Blizzard actually considers the level "cap" to be 50 right now, ie when you no longer get skill points. It's possible they increase the "internal" level cap and then may or may not even need to expand the secondary level cap. They can just leave it at 100 and give you skill points and paragon points from 51-60.

    Thank you for updating us about the unionizing attempts, this is so important, devs deserve protection from bad employers, and even if some unions become a part of the problem, most are definitely needed to prevent worker exploitation. Thank you for supporting us, workers❤ and yeah, level cap 60 just doesn't sit the same as lvl 100, fantasy-wise. This kind of change is honestly not something you should do one year into the game.

    Sounds good . I do hope they bring back primal . Make it rare enough to where it’s most likely a Uber for a unique . If that makes sense .
    And you won’t be able to get it done for a Uber . But it should be possible if someone is lucky enough
