    Thanks for your review, clear and honest.
    I'd like I could move in the Catalog photos as I wish: it would be very useful when creating a storytelling.

    • @DigitalPhotoMentor
      @DigitalPhotoMentor  2 месяца назад

      You can do that in an album. Just make an album and arrange as you wish

      @@DigitalPhotoMentor @DigitalPhotoMentor Hi, thank for the answer. It's likely I didn't correctly express (I'm from Italy): I know I can arrange the order of albums as I wish, but what I'd like is arranging the order of the photos. So far I can do it only by using stars, but this way is very limiting (just 5 stars available). If I have photo A, B, C, D, E, F... I should be able to move them as I want: D, B, E, F, A, C... for example.

    Thanks again for a very informative tutorial of the new, forthcoming Luminar Neo update! I am MISSING the Infrared (IR) RAW images editing for all various cameras, not just the Fuji images which are finally supported, BUT as well the Sony IR RAW images. I communicated with Skylum in this regard and they promised to work on it BUT it would be GOOD and important that MORE photographers bring this to Skylum as otherwise it will take ages!

    • @DigitalPhotoMentor
      @DigitalPhotoMentor  3 месяца назад +1

      I saw your emails about that but the issue likely is that it's a very small percentage of photographers that need that. They prioritize things based on what is most needed by the majority of users.

    • @alexzahnd2642
      @alexzahnd2642 3 месяца назад

      @@DigitalPhotoMentor thanks Darlene for your feedback, its very much appreciated! The IR photography community is growing FAST and the Skylum Luminar Neo development team HAS to consider this group of photographers as an increasingly important customer group. Thanks for stepping into the gap for us as well when you talk with Skylum and suggest your changes and future developments to Skylum, as your voice counts! I've always found the masking in Luminar Neo to be somewhat sloppy. An edge aware brush similar to what's found in Affinity Photo would be very helpful. Drawn and parametric masks similar to what's in Darktable and Lightroom would also be most welcome. Aside from that, I'd like to see improvements to their denoise and sharpening AI capabilities. Thanks for showing us this. Hopefully it will be a little more useful by the time the fall update is released.

    Catalog: Detailed view - name of photo is at the top, I believe, not the bottom. It is a bit confusing as the spacing of the thumbnails causes this. Maybe they'll address it in a "point" release.

    • @DigitalPhotoMentor
      @DigitalPhotoMentor  3 месяца назад

      Huh you might be right I didn't even notice that. Well that's odd if so. I'd not expect the name above the image.

    Colour grading works better if applied the way anthony turnham demo's in his video. Essentially make the adjustment - say hue shift- then apply the colour masking then you can go back to check and when go back in can add to the existing mask by clicking on another part of the colour. You can also then use the brush to remove from any unwanted areas. Like you say not perfect but this is work around ish

    Thank you for such an honest review. This and some of the comments has put me off purchasing Neo. I have an earlier version that I rarely use due to lack of features and slow performance and was hoping this update was going to give me a viable alternative to the Adobe subscription. Sadly not. Maybe it needs another year or two to mature.

      It depends what you want it to do. If you're like me and have 10s of 1000s of images in lightroom then no it's not a replacement. Bit I use them both in my workflow

    I remember that you had problems with the beta version , that there were some white blocks appearing in the photo, was that with Neo or with Aperty ? Because I just updated Neo to 1.21.2 . And am I the only one who has still white blocks my photo in the preview window? Sometimes they go sometimes they stay. Sometimes it's okay in the preview of catalogue but not in the preview of edit. And the white block is always visible in the film strip. When I export it the photos, okay.

    Sorry my English, I hope you understand my problem. I reinstalled my macbook (m1). Then I reinstalled all programs. I use macOS Sequoia. I have downloaded the latest version of luminar neo 1.21.2. I created a new catalog in the program and added a test image in raw format. Luminar Neo always crashes permanently when using some creative tools. It doesn't matter if I uninstall the program and reinstall it. Every time I'm almost done editing, creative tools collapse. I don't have any lut or plugin installed..

    The Luminar Neo Update 1.21.0 is for me a joke. Since 18.08.24 I have the new Canon EOS R5 Mark II, since this date I can not use the software because the new camera is not integrated in the software. Regarding a request at the Luminar Support I got a short answer: "Please be patient! Ist this answer a joke or what? I payed for lifetime license, bought new tools as well as a pass for the new great update now. So is it normal that this new camera was not now integrated in the software? For me a real NOGO of Skylum/Luminar. Now we are near 2 month sice release day of R5 Mark II. Sorry Skylum/Luminar.

    • @DigitalPhotoMentor
      @DigitalPhotoMentor  2 месяца назад

      Yes that is normal for all software. Even Adobe has the same delay. They have to get the camera profiles from the manufacturer so I suggest you aim your complaint at Canon. It's possible they haven't provided it yet. Also lifetime license does not mean free lifetime updates. It means you own the version you bought forever.
