    i am an ex national kart racer and F1 marshal, been around building karts and race cars most of my 68 years. This build by James Biggar is a lesson to all my past teachers, man you can build in such a precise way with so many multiskills i am just so impressed. Obviously the best piece of equipment in your workshop was your back 😂🤣 when using the press, love your work James, thank you mate

    Holy Moses! That was fun to watch! I can only imagine how many cuts I would have miscalculated, angles I would have gotten wrong, messes I would have made in the garage and so forth. Truly amazed. I’d love to see a build with power to all 4 wheels, and some Elka Stage 5 suspension 🤩

    • @Skinflaps_Meatslapper
      @Skinflaps_Meatslapper 4 месяца назад

      King 3.0's would be a lot better in a kart this size than those little four wheeler shocks. 4WD should've been easy to incorporate with an electric vehicle, as there's no need to worry about getting a transfer case or front driveshaft to a front diff, just some wires, axleshafts, and a few CV's. Use two motors half the size for a combined output that remains the same if battery capacity is a concern, or buy another one of the same size for twice the performance.

    Impressive!
    My experience around crosscarts are limited though for off road vehicles you usually should focus less on apperance and more on maintainability. There will be mud, dust and water everywhere and panels will trap that. They also add weight which will affect performance.
    For my experience around battery packs you would do better with an aluminium box for the heat transfer and cooling performance.

    All terrain travel requires support and mobility. Emmett Trucker spent his life looking for the best vehicle. He tried the Archimedes Screw, chain over pontoon and finally the track composed of metal grousers connected by belting. The drive is chain and sprocket with aa polyurethane sprocket drive sprocket for a triangular shape. I worked with Tucker for five years as a hydraulic consultant and designed the Hydro Groomer hydraulic system that is still in operation at Diamond Lake Oregon (30 years). In my opinion, total All Terrain requires a support of 100 pounds per square foot and a power of 10 hp per pound of weight. In addition you need track angle control and other neat little tricks like, staggered grousers with exceptional track tension and cone grousers to get home for dinner.
