- Well, I continue to offer an open invitation to Mr. Naylor to join us in Congress to talk about the inclusion
of our new poison label which, if I might say...
Nick, ready to trek up the Hill and testify before Congress?
Well, I'd love to, Dennis, but not as long as the senator is calling for me to be fired. It's not exactly a welcome invitation.
Yeah. Bit of a mixed message, Senator.
Well, not as mixed as the stance that Big Tobacco has taken about the dangers of smoking cigarettes.
Oh, no. - Now what are you laughing?
You're a wind-up artist. Give the man his due. He's got a bit of a point there, doesn't he?
Sorry. I just can't help myself, Dennis.
I'm just tickled by the idea of the gentleman from Vermont calling me a hypocrite when, uh... this same man,
in one day, held a press conference where he called for the American tobacco fields to be slashed and burned,
then he jumped on a private jet and flew down to Farm Aid where he rode a tractor onstage
As he bemoaned the downfall of the American farmer.
Care to comment, Senator?
He... I... No.
Eloquent in its brevity.
For a politician, he sure is a weak fence.
Harvey Dent vs Frank Gallagher
Just imagine Harvey Dent happily shilling for cigarettes, especially after the Joker.
I heard Finnister lost elections to Sanders and moved to Chicago , even changed his last name to moms maiden name, Gallagher
I thought he went to North Dakota and opened a car dealership.
@@pjabrony8280 Not quite, he went and worked at his father-in-law's car dealership.
Senators from Vermont Bernie Sanders
senators from my balls your comment
@@NewWesternFront I assume you’re a Bernie supporter due to the incoherence of your comment
We don't like him either
@@literallyasneeze2135 My guy, he's been the Mayor of Burlington, a Representative, and a Senator for over 40+ years. Just because "you" don't like him, doesn't mean the state of Vermont thinks the same way as you.
If "we" didn't like him, you'd think he'd lose 1 election, ever. He's not some bajillionaire buying elections and in bed with private industry like others. He actually serves the state, and the country, well. You may not like every decision (nobody likes all decisions a politician makes) but he's arguably one of the best in Congress. He's honest, and cares for people.
@tengille And Burlington has gone down hill ever since he touched it. He's also a multi millionaire?
@0:34-0:37... felt like a fish is gasping for air on land
What fallacy is this supposed to be?
The appeal to hypocrisy (aka tu quoque). Just because what someone said is hypocritical doesn't make their point wrong. For example, while a drug addict would be hypocritical for calling fast food unhealthy, they'd still be right about fast food.
@@NateTalksToYou I would consider it more for an appeal to perspective. Nobody is arguing that tabaco is unhealthy. What he is arguing is that just because tobaco is unhealthy does not mean it needs to be banned. How unhealthy does something need to be for it to be banned or given a warning label? lets eleiminate car crashes and ban cars, terrorist attacks and ban planes, disease and regulate breathing air within 6 feet of each other, ect ect ect.
@@Violentpitsa5501 I'm describing the fallacy presented in the clip above. The argument you're describing is the one Nick Naylor delivers to Congress near the end of the film.
السمنه اخطر مرض ..... اخطر من التدخين
Frank Gallagher is such a hypocrite
that's the fallacy objective in this video.
A prostitute can point out someone is promiscuous. A criminal can say "you're wrong for stealing". Doesn't make them wrong.
