I knew I wasn't the only one using old credit cards and gift cards to scrape dirt and dead skin off my front board. Also you really should let people know what kind of steel will you used, Personally I can tell but I can see a lot of people potentially messing their board up LOL
Fun fact, you can use mineral oil and it does the same thing as lemon oil, but mineral oil is 3 dollar and it’s enough for tons of guitars
thanks for sharing
Dont use mineral oil from Auto Zone, i ruined a fretboard with it.
Fun fact on how to destroy your fretboard
Use a strong magnet to pick up steel wool. Brushing it off has the potential of it settling on your guitar finish resulting in micro scratches.

Is that your new Maton? Please do a review and I'll be happy to watch it sir Edwin 😍
Yeah, I will. Thanks.
When you say buff the fretboard, what exactly are you doing and using?
just dry cloth
Fun Fact: Lemon oil ruins maple fretboards (So don't use it specifically for that type of wood)
thanks for sharing
It's not lemon oil it's just a preserving agent that smells like lemons.
Instead of steel wool, can we use Scotch Brite ?
I never tried it before. Take note that this is 0000 steel wool, it is very fine.
Yeah that’s what I use. Works great without the mess!

Thanks for the feedback.
i did my first fret board yesterday and was like how do i clean this i used plastic too ; )
nice one
Thanks. Any other oils that will work?
Luthiers recommend lemon oil.
Generally, Dunlop's Lemon oil is the go-to for most people and it works well for rosewood or ebony fretboards.
Are you going over the frets aswell?
Also, what did you use to buff with?
yes, polish the frets as well
@@Hotdoggeroni just a cloth for buffing.
@@Edwin-E so polish the board, not the frets?
@@Hotdoggeroni both
Buy fretboard cleaner
thanks for the suggestion
