For the price its a great drop! your right its not a greatest whiskey but for a drink to have around the house its the perfect drop for the price! value buys a great.

I think for next year I'm going to focus on bang for the price whiskys and stay away from overpriced bottles, that gone up too much in price. I want to find really good gems. Aldi also sells the Highland Earl NAS blended, but you're better off with the Highland Black 8 YO. And there's the Highland Green NAS blended malt (i.e. no grain whiskies), but it's not great at all. I like your Advent Calendar: I've tried all of those ones, except for the Canmore 12. Season's greetings and all the best for 2024, Nivla.
I have been enjoying revisiting some old friends in the calendar (and a couple of new ones such as the Canmore) and today was the Westward whiskey from Oregon. What a wonderful world of exploring there is out there!
Tried the Highland Black 8 yo near the start of my journey and like you was impressed by the product for the price point. Won't blow your socks off but can keep up with some much pricer bottles. Cheers and all the best Nivla!
