Did anyone catch the cameo appearance of our soon-to-be-released new product "Chain Sox?". It's a snazzy way to improve the looks of your boring chains.
Thanks guys! We've always said that our Airstream is the first, only, and last RV we will ever own. It will eventually be sold by the Executor of our Estate.
One thing I have learned over the years of RVing, Campers are not able to be stored outside. The UV destroys all cheap plastic things made for a RV. Your Airstream is a 5 lug, very interesting. Very cool video. I enjoy watching what you have had to handle over the years.
Thanks for watching! Yes, our wheels are 5 lug with a 14" wheel diameter. They're nothing unusual - just straight up automotive wheels that I think Ford used on the Bronco II. The OEM Goodyear Marathons were actually Load Range C. I had to go up to Load Range D with the Endurance. Like many RV'ers, I went out and bought a bunch of stuff before I even picked up the Airstream. One of those items was a UV air conditioner cover. Maybe I need to start using that after 22 years and 3 shrouds...
We have a 2021 International 30’ and had to replace the toilet seal because of a leak, the vent hood that stops working after just a few minutes, multiple female patches, fix the kitchen drawer glides, reinforce the drawers, replace our propane regulators, and put fans in our heat absorption refrigerator to get it down to temperature. This is our 3 rd Airstream and we love it. We had a 2013 25’ Flying Cloud that was perfect and we never had to do any repairs, but it only had one AC and that didn’t work in Texas. We love your channel!
Thanks so much for watching and the super nice comment on our channel. As we like to say, owning an RV is "Fixing Things in Beautiful Places". Yes, things break but the reward outweighs the frustration by a longshot...
I feel Thor and Winnebago need to partner with consultants from the automotive industry like Sandy Munro. I feel we can do better in this generation of manufacturing motorhomes and RV's.
Thanks for watching! I'm embarrassed to say that I had never heard of Sandy Munro. I looked him up and will have to check out his RUclips channel. Having owned a Beneteau 36' sailboat, Cindy and I have often said that Airstream needs to spend some time checking out their quality. The electrical installation on the boat was 100% better.
Thanks for watching! I'm glad you liked my home made merch - we had fun with that one. My propane guy says my aluminum tanks will last forever for the recertification versus the steel which may fail due to rust.
Thanks for watching! As a wise friend once said "Things don't break sitting in the driveway". As long as you're traveling, you'll be fixing things. Given the choice of sitting in the driveway or traveling, you know what we would choose...
Electrical sockets, never installed all that well ... the one I had to replace sits there at a slant, because Airstream cut the hole in a hurry ... And the freezer door, what a repair! I'm proud of that one, and, yes, that RUclips video (now at least a decade old) provided the crazy how-to ... I got the replacement hinge part from a guy in Alabama who 3-D prints them out ... where'd RV fixer-uppers be without the Internet?
We love your replacement propane tanks. 🥰 Like the screen tool. Love the See America T-shirts!! Very creative homemade shirt LOL. 🤣 We did not see the appearance of the "Chain Sox?" Where was it? - Jim & Michelle
Thanks guys! I had fun making that home made t-shirt. It was a Walbernizing cloth. The Chain Sox came in during the Battle Born battery overlay. Safe travels...
Thanks for watching! Cindy puts a great deal of time into designing fun products for our store. I, on the other hand, spend less time with my home made merch... 😀
First of all LOVED this video. My airstream is 5 years old. What about the seals on the roof? My overflow valve on the water heater drips a little. I think it is calcium buildup. Cleaning out the tank helped. Too many worries to discuss. I really liked this video.
Thanks for watching! I have resealed the roof a few years ago. We actually waited way too long. When we finally did it as a result of noticing a leak, the chalk was super hard and difficult to remove. Assuming there are no known leaks, I probably would start to pay close attention at 5 years and reseal regardless before 10 years. Here's the video: ruclips.net/video/o_-lJdsl1w8/видео.html
Thanks Mike! Good point. We'll try and remember that next time. Make sure you tune in next week because we totally forgot the biggest breakage we ever experienced - that one required a trip to Jackson Center.
The biggest item I have replaced is the dead bolt. I tried to close the door with it in the locked position and it bent the heck out of it. Safe travels
Thanks for watching Camp Fire Rob! Yes, we've heard of so many problems with the Relax Awning. We've been opening and closing our manual at least twice per day every day we camp for 22 years and have never had a single issue...
Is that a Dometic refrigerator with the plastic hinges? They are notorious for failure from what I have read . There are hinge reinforcement plates available, or make your own, like I did.
I hope you haven't jinked yourselves talking about the big ticket items. When are you coming to AZ? The tee shirts show you haven't spent much time here in the west. On the other hand, after more than 24 years of (P/T) rving. we haven't spent much time east of the Rockies. Safe travels.
Thanks for watching! Yes, living in Vermont makes those trips out west a challenge. The International Rally for the Airstream Club is in N.D. in 2026 and Wyoming in 2027. We'll use one of those trips to launch onto a west coast trip - to include Arizona!

There is always something. But - wow - 22 years! That's an accomplishment!

I'd like to see the "upgrades" you've added
Thanks for watching! We'll add that to our list.

Ive always eyed your pretty silver propane tanks! I had assumed it came that way.
Lol homemade merch!!!! 😂😂😂
Thanks for watching! I'm glad you liked my home made merch - we had fun with that one. My propane guy says my aluminum tanks will last forever for the recertification versus the steel which may fail due to rust.
So my takeaway is that I have many more years of Airstream repairs 🛠️ to look forward to 😂

Thanks so much for watching and the story about the fridge. Some day 3D printing will be so cheap that we can all get one. How awesome would that be?

Ooo! I think I need a tee shirt!

Yes improve mints 👍
Thanks for watching! Yes, we'll add an improvements video for the future...

Great video! I would have liked to see the year the repair was made… just for kicks.

Thanks Cotton Tales! Yes, we've heard of that mistake many times. Hopefully that will be all...
Very informative
Thanks for watching! As we like to say: "RV'ing: Fixing Things in Beautiful Places".
Adding another great t Shirt to add to my wardrobe.
Thanks Cooper Products! They would look pretty sweet on the pickleball court... We can't wait to play in Sedalia.
Great video, my zip dee power awning is junk. I wish I had a manual awning.
Thanks for watching Camp Fire Rob! Yes, we've heard of so many problems with the Relax Awning. We've been opening and closing our manual at least twice per day every day we camp for 22 years and have never had a single issue...

Thanks for watching! Yes, they are plastic. I'll have to look into the reinforcement plates - thanks for the idea.

We are getting ready to replace our trailer after 10 years. The refrigerator was the final straw.
Thanks for watching! Good luck on you search for your new trailer!
