You turn the knob on the left to select the effect you want to modify. Then turn the knob on the right to change the value of that effect. Tap the store button once to select the number you want for the effect (i.e. its place among your saved patches). Then press it again to save it. To see the manual, google "ZOOM G1X pdf"
I had G1 for a long time (and sold it) and it's good pedal but new Digitech RP155 is way better when it comes to amp modeling, effects and direct recording. You also have more control over the effects and stuff. G1 is pretty a beginner pedal. It's very limited. It's good for heavy music. Digitech RP155 is good for everything and you REALLY don't need an amp. It has really good cabinet emulation so it sounds good almost through everything including computer speakers.
@WhiteNacho Excellent point. Which one did you think was the lamest? We play mostly shitcore and some fuzzcore, and we like to focus on cheap gimmicky sounds because the whole thrust of our act is that we are actually pretty bad at playing our instruments, yet we still totally rock the house into tiny splinters and make their mothers cry.
@sytem1punk nnnnnno, It definitely says G1X on the front panel. I think the G1XN is the newer version with some general improvements, but much the same.
I'm pretty sure you just press both pedal switches together. If not, try holding either one down for a few seconds. To get the manual, just search "G1X pdf" in google - guaranteed hit.
Hey guys i have the same effect. I really don't understand it though, it's just sitting in my room covered in dust. I want to use it but i just can't quite realize how. Only manual i have is in Spanish so, no hope there. What i want to ask is, How do you use this pedal? What purpose do you use this for? I've pressed on it before when i did that i couldn't hear the sound anymore. Please explain it to me guys? Thanks
Zoom released new models of G series (G3, G5 and MS-50) with better DSP and modeling. It seems that they're better than latest Digitech RP series but more expensive. Vox also released Stomplab IG and IIG and they're simplified Tonelab processors. I suppose that they are all better than old Zoom G1 or G2. I'm using Digitech RP155 now and I'm pretty happy with the sound but I'm going to check new Vox Stomplab IG soom. ;)
I have this pedal, been using it for 10 years. The only downside of this pedal is the wah, it only simulates halfopen wah pedal. Otherwise its a great pedal for beginners.
@codyrules3519 Very similar. The G1Xn has some improved distortion features. I've never tried one, though, so I can't tell you just how "improved" they are. Great fun pedal though, defnitely :O)
Hmm could be so many reasons. I guess checking the connections would be the first thing. Then maybe a factory reset. You can find on the web how to do that, it's probably very easy :)
All I can suggest is to download the manual by googling "Zoom G1x pdf". It should be the first result that comes up. Good luck and thanks for watching Gearfacts!
Gearfacts thanks for suggesting me but sorry I m in trouble i cant fix that problem can I just connect with u in social media so that i can send pic of my g1x problem?
Dude you can view the manual online: Just google 'zoom G1X pdf' and it will probably be the first search result on your screen. The purpose of this unit is to make freaky sounds with your guitar. Word.
It all starts with the knob on the top right. When rotated all the way to the left, it's in play mode and you can click the footswitches to go through all the different setups. If that knob is in any other location, it is in EDIT mode. The parameter it is pointing to will be edited by the other knob. To go back to changing patches (the different setups) just wind the top right knob back to play mode :) #gearfacts
@rileylendrum Yes, I think ppl need to understand that metal is very very gay, I mean it's flamboyantly gay, like a British boy band. Not that there's anything wrong with gayness, I just think ppl should be aware of it if they can't already plainly see it. Anyhoo: for good OD, get a boss ME8 if you can locate one. The newer Zoom G3 also has it well covered. The G1x covers it quite well, you wouldn't be disappointed. Also, check out the much under-rated Delta Labs DGFX1. Cheers :)

Thanx for Your advice to use PDF file, which found easily; Keep Rockin´!

Thanx for Your guidance video! I did find same G1X pedal effect last Friday and now got the idea how to use it with Marshall 40...
Yep you can have a lot of fun with these seemingly simple effects units.
@sytem1punk nnnnnno, It definitely says G1X on the front panel. I think the G1XN is the newer version with some general improvements, but much the same.
this device is wonderful, way better than the comparable digi
Yep, that will work fine. It won't harm your amp at all.
I love this zoom g1x pedal
Yep, it's simple and sounds great. I'd like to see Zoom revisit this style of doing things.
Hello, you can't plug direct into a speaker but you can use headphones. Apart from that you will need an amp to hear it. Glynn
I am electronically challenged which cords go into which inputs when you’re setting this pedal up? Thank you
Guitar cable goes into the socket closest to the expression pedal, the other socket s for cable to your amp or headphones.
@@gearfacts I appreciate your quick response! Have a great day

Best to get G1on which i now have.
30sec looper, plus plenty of options, Amps etc, and a good price
Hi.. can I use this pedal with my 3 watt mini amp? Will it blow up the speaker??
can you tell me how to edit & save tones ?
@codyrules3519 Very similar. The G1Xn has some improved distortion features. I've never tried one, though, so I can't tell you just how "improved" they are. Great fun pedal though, defnitely :O)

Can you suggest the reason why my g1x effect is not giving any effect
Hmm could be so many reasons. I guess checking the connections would be the first thing. Then maybe a factory reset. You can find on the web how to do that, it's probably very easy :)
Hey, I don't have amp right now can I use this effect with the speaker only without amp? or it's better to get an amp?

Thankyou!! but how to put it on distortion tone??
I have it , Its awsome!!
wow
Gonna resurrect this gadget of mine.
Honestly, most new guitar effects aren’t that much further ahead than these old ones. Modelling has improved a bit, but not much else

Most of those effects sound pretty lame.
not for me
