- Chart toping female vocalist of the late 1950's and 1960's. Her hits: Where The Boys Are, Who's Sorry Now, Stupid Cupid, My Happiness, Among My Souvenirs and Lipstick On Your Collar and Everybody's Somebodies Fool were anthems for many teenage girls.
Connie's life story is told in her book, "Who's Sorry Now". Her rape and the very public aftermath in 1970 made her a strong victims advocate.
Connie is 78 years old and still performing.

Thanks for this upload. I have always loved Connie Francis. She had some great hits in the 50s and 60s. She has a son and she had to raise him, and she stopped performing I think for 7 years. This after that awful thing that happened to her. Connie is the BEST

Connie held her own against the biggest top males singers of the late 50's and early 60's. Then came the British Invasion and many solo artists didn't survive it. Times were changing and so was music. It was still a great time for early Rock and Roll and these artists paved the way for others.
I love her song the title is "Mama" One of my favorite songs of Miss Connie Francis. I want to hear this song especially in "Mothers Day" Celebration. Love love this song and a beautiful song of Miss Connie Francis ! 👏👏👏👍

I remember watching that episode. At the end of her performance, Dick Clark was crying his heart out. I believe he managed to half whisper "What took you so long" (or similar) before sobbing more. It was truly a touching moment on television.

Loved her since elementary school age. I wish we could hear her on today's oldies stations. Every now and then when she crosses my mind, I think, "Oh, is she still living? I hope so!" So I check and she is, and I'm happy, and I listen to a couple of her great oldies.... and then comes another span of time; repeat.
Although I was born in 1974, I love to hear Connie Francis' songs. Her voice was unique in 1950s up to 1969. Here in Indonesia, her "Mr. Love" was very famous.

The interviewer did a great job. So many interviewers prior to the millennium were lacking the finesse this woman presents here.
Connie was assaulted in a Howard Johnson's Motel in late 1974 while performing at nearby Westbury Music Fair. It took her a long time to get through that time but she did come back to Westbury Music Fair just about 7 years to the date. Her voice was a little shaky here and there but it improved as she continued to perform. In 1989 she was appearing at Las Vegas and her voice was spectacular (at the Alladin Hotel).
