Always appreciate your kind words and support bro! I know I can forget to explain things when i'm in the zone, but I'll try to remember to be thorough :) Thanks again!
Marki Mark awesome stuff mate, so exciting to see how good fishing in the harbour can be. Let me know if you want some help with those headaches , Im a chiro in the inner west.
Thanks for the kind words Ange! Yes, definitely.. Sydney Harbour is great for recreational fishing! It's thriving more than ever. Hahaha cheers, I am overdue for a good adjustment that's for sure! :)
Next time i do some work out on pier 4 I’m going to go for a walk around to pier 2 and have a look . I usually see a few people having a fish off pier 4 at night but have yet to see anyone catch anything . How do you go with security ? I often see a guard doing a patrol at night but not sure if they kick the fishos out or not . The main thing with fishing the wharves is to take your rubbish out with you !
Hi Ian, Fishing on the Piers is permitted until tomorrow being the 29th, then they are closing due to upgrades/works being commenced. This will go on for approximately 2 years and not sure if they will allow fishing post the upgrades/rebuilds. Yup, very important to clean up after ourselves! Cheers & Tight-Lines.
thirdsonflip Ahaha that’s how I started mate, then slowly started collecting. A setup for all occasions, edging, light outfit, medium, heavy, boating etc this session was using my heavy outfit mate Saragosa 6000 / Saltist BW 962 PE2-5! Tight lines mate and thanks for the support!
Thanks for the kind words mate, you can get them all year round however summer you'll get quantity but not much size to them and find early autumn, winter is when the big ones stick around! Hope that helps :)
@@FishingwithMarkiMark thanks that does help because in summer I will be able to get used to different techniques so I will have a better chance for a monster in summer
HI mate, basically I hook them up unweighted on a size 3/0 Octopus or Circle hook mate. I've explained it in my other videos mate so best to have a look on here, hope that helps :)
I recently heard that there might be new restrictions on fishing at that place, have you heard of anything on that topic? Amazing video, keep up the good content. Also would you happen to know any other spots near the harbour where it’s legal to fish. Thanks.
Yup, you’re right. They have kept pushing back the dates of closure at the piers but current closing date is 29th of this month. They will be rebuilding the pier and will take approx 2 (tradie years) so expect delays. You can fish most wharfs in Sydney Harbour except for the Toronga Zoo wharf etc. Just gotta keep in mind ferries come every 30 mins or every hr on weekend. I just pick a wharf and try my luck and move on to the next one. Hope that helps & tight lines!
Fishin' with Marki Mark thanks for the info, I am very happy you replied, thanks for the tips, your videos are really good, how often do you go fishing?
Anytime mate, if you need help with anything else shoot me a dm over my facebook page or Instagram. I go out about once a week :) Thanks for the support.
You guy's are sure lucky, 75cm is decent inshore landbased here. Can get some 1-1.2m inshore landbased just got to get lucky :) I got a 85cm land based some weeks ago! Tight lines
Nah mate, you can't sell fish as a recreational angler. I mostly catch & release and sometimes keep 1 or two depending on the fish for the table :) Cheers.
Ohhh thats a tough question to answer on a public forum hehe :) but it really depends what I'm targeting and what gear I want to use on the day! If I want to use light gear I'll fish somewhere more forgiving, however off wharf's with a large incline I'll have to use heavy gear for Kingfish!
Sure can, however the fresher the better & your chances of hookup increase if your using live bait. Just depends what they feel like on the day, you could use live bait and catch nothing or you can throw a cubed pillie and a King could take that. :) Tight-Lines.
@@FishingwithMarkiMark too right man I wish they will but I highly doubt it all the posh people up there saying they don't want it. I found a new spot where king fish run through near Gladesville you should check it out

Saadon Aksah Ahaha tell me about it, love our Harbour System! Stay tuned for even bigger fish :) cheers
Cool edit bro!
Very cool! Nice edit too!
Appreciate the positive comment and support! Eagerly waiting for your next video :)
What you caught it on and what rig are you using?
Pretty sure unweighted cubed pilchards or fresh squid.
Do you drop the bait straight down the pier and also, what size hook do you normally use for kings?
Hey man, depending on what the current is doing, but just a light lob out :) anything from 2/0-6/0 depending on the size of my bait / livebait :)
Legit video man! Just subbed ya!
STOIC OUTDOORS Thank you bud! Thanks for the kind words and support! Subbed back, #401 ! I’ll check out our videos too! Cheers.

@@FishingwithMarkiMark thriving yes, but I don't think these are very healthy to eat large quantities, too much ferry traffic
I would still count it . Good work mark
