100% true I just cut out my first body & used a combination of scissors & exacto blade then I watched a few more videos & the snap technique is much easier because you don’t have to go back & clean up the edges. Saves a lot of time & energy. Another version I saw was to use the exacto scour the body then use rhe scissors to cut smaller areas then snap them out. Next time I’m definitely going the scour & snap method. I haven’t painted it yet so your tips are handy. 👍
I just finished my own cliffhanger body and experienced exactly the same issues as you, decided to leave the errors as a reminder, plus it is a crawler body after all, a few weeks from now and you will be scraping and banging against the rocks and not even thinking about the paint blemishes. Its all a learning curve, the next one will be better right?
Logan, wondering what Facebook groups you’re apart of that post competition events for the Saint George area. Or for the ones you host. I’m up near Ogden but I’d let like to see if I can make it down for an event once in a while. Might even try to come down around new year’s weekend.
Looks good Dingdong! I usually transfer the inside window masks to the outside at the end before I hit it with flat. Keeps clear windows. But maybe you wanted to obscure it since no interior? All in all, I like it. I’ve been wanting to do one of those Toyota stripe schemes myself.
@@westdesertwheeler not as bad as you would think. Oracle vinal is automotive grade and sticks to lexan great. Than I put flat clear coat over it. No problems so far. However, I would agree that the sandstone would put it to the test. I crawl in the Sacramento mountains in Cloudcroft, NM., so the environment is totally different.
before you spray any color you should spray a light coat of flat clear over your masking. it will help hold your masking down, and you wont get any bleed lines. it will not look flat either once color is sprayed over.
Don't forget to scuff the inside of your bodies with a Grey scotch bright pad! The micro scratches give the paint something to bite too! Keeps the paint from chipping away
Oh man looks soo so good.nailed it cant wait to get a new shell for my trx 4 sport..i just made my first couple shorts.when you got a sec go check em out
Wish I could get my hands on one of these here in the uk great videos hope you have a great Christmas
Very good information. I really appreciate and enjoy your work!
can't wait for the running video. I am building a Gspeed also love the content.
Good info. I'll be painting the same body. Going with a British racing green and maybe a white strip. Again, helpful information. Thanks!!!

Love the paint scheme Logan 🤘 that had inspired me to paint my cliff hanger body in the TRD colours. Great video and keep it up mate.
I just got a 1/24 version of this body for my SCX24, I'm going to try to paint it up with a similar paint job. It looks great!
Well done brother! I've always wanted to do that paint scheme! Maybe on the next build this winter. Thanks!

very good👍 🖖
Looks awesome! I think the black over spray makes it look scale worn! Like a real truck that been beat around ... I wouldnt worry about it!

Yeah I wanted the windows fogged
Body painting is harder than you think. I wish there was an easier way to do it.👍
I had a body painted to totally white, I just used oracle vinal from my wife's cricut to stripe it out. Came out ok.
That will work but will get ripped off quick with how I drive. Wedging into sand stone all the time

Looks wicked. I just did the scratch and snap method on a new build, its way easier. I wish I had known about that sooner.

Dude!!!! That came out Logan. No such thing as mistakes on painting RC bodies. All home paint jobs are 20ft paint jobs!!!🤣🤣🤣
Not really, some are 40-50ft LOL
It was a great video. 👍 Are you going to go to Scale Nationals?
Nope. Too far to travel.
Thank you for responding. Some day I hope to get to St. George area to do some crawling on some of those beautiful rocks there.
I rush and get in a hurry and make mistakes... When I take my time it comes out much better
What red did you use? I'm getting ready to use their bright red and wondering if it is transparent.
I think it’s plain ol red

For Al gores rhythm
Haha thanks homie 🤙🏼
I would pay a little extra money if they would cut the Decals out
Right???
What ever happened to the days where a body was only $20/$30. Now you need to take out a loan to buy a body!!
That matte clear screwed up the paint job.
Doesn't look to good
