That bass is interesting. I have tried quite a few instruments similar to this. For me the Godin feels too big even though it sounds good. I have found too that getting rid of the phosphor bronze strings goes a long way towards getting rid of the unwanted highs.LaBella makes a wide range of nylon tape wound strings that sound much better in my opinion.
Humans are not ready to invent a decent affordable acoustic bass nannnnnn. Just repeating mistakes of the others for the new generations ... Until now they dont't bother or make effort to think that they are wasting our time by producing unecessary product in the market to buy even if it s cheap. Godin nearly made it a perfect affordable with their original design , that Sire is copying , but missed some points somewhere but again i love you godin for your innovative design and affordable quality guitars in the market since you born. Only Godin can make it possible and not in china...So sweet to be true but they are the true genuine you can still buy without being reapen your investement still has value in case if you want to resale one day when the bills will become higher and higher. Anyway no one sorted out the acoustic sound until now all are fabricating kind of electro acoustic guitars but dont concentrate on the real effective sound of an acoustic amplified enless if you pay 6 time the price of it but even im not sure , however all sounds the same , artificial plastic horrible sound it s ok we can understand that....!! Business business first , they dont want to try , at least , to save the trees and the planet from pollution or improve to be close to the enjoyable sound that inspire you when you grab one in the end of the day it s for the sake of our ears , brain and music no...!!! We should ban the ones who are cheatting and wasting our time on this planet.

Nice Scott Devine costume
Great demo, great playing!
I hope the Fretless version comes out, too
they already make that. At least they mention fretless versions on their website
I have one right here, fretless 5 - just came, I love it!
Very interested in these. Thanks.
I’m a big Steve Swallow fan and this is straight up my street! 👍
yeah! phil rocks!
such a beauty
Very nice sound and looks
Lovely bass lovely presentation , thank you!
Just wondering though : How to intonate the strings on this bass ?
Looks like fun
what chain did you go through? seems like a lot of compressor? but lovely!
does it have acoustic or electric bass strings ? thank you
I am getting 7 of those ✨
Frettless version please!!
Aquila Flat Spiral string would be great on that bass. What strings does it come with?
I have the same question 🤔
Do they make a left-handed 😊
Yes!😊
I've never had any feedback issue with any acoustic bass guitars… but this one looks good anyway.
Put some flats on that bass!
that was my first thought too, but then I'd love to have a neck pickup too, I don't know how well flats would translate with this one's pickup config?
@@huraxdax_2467 I have nylon tapewounds on my Godin A4 and they sound great, same with flats I keep on a cheap Ibanez acoustic bass at work
I played a Godin A4 (much like this) for years. It was LOTS heavier than 6.4 pounds!
A fretless would be super cool too !
Schöne Grüße von Robert Godin.
Nice instrument, at least seems to be nice haha
I'll test one out when I see it on the wall at the music store
Try the Balor bass
Cool but I prefer to just use a Hofner hollow body with a tiny 9 V amp
I would buy a lot of the sire products if in Germany they had a different nameing.
Daddy basses
Bass on Thomann's link has 3+1 tuners alignment, and your has 4 in a row.
With all my love to stingrays, I'd prefer such bass to be 4 in a row.
Thomann has one with 4 In a row in black. £399
@@WansbeckBikecamyeah black ones with 4 in a row. But why not natural 😢
@@WansbeckBikecamis there a link please?
It looks great. They are well made. But, it just doesn't sound hollow enough for my liking.
The phase switch is for left-handed players playing a right-handed version and for players generally playing in reverse.
Silly

I agree
Yeah, I have a solid body with LaBella Gold White Nylon Tape Wound strings. They sound and feel great.

I'd buy it, but honestly the headstock looks weirder than their normal headstock which was already weird enough xD
I have no issue with that headstock. Straight string pull and no stupid over the top excess.
Does not sound like an acoustic at all

Its like the Godin. Only not as good.
Needs flats so bad
Put on flats or tape strings and you are up and running. Godin and Rob Allen basses are massively over priced.
No thanks. I despise the sound of piezos on bass. The only time this bass sounded decent was when he had the treble dialed almost fully off, IMO.
Listen guys, when I watch a bass review I want to hear the sound of the bass, not how "good" a bass player you are.
Godin... copy
Nice copy of a Godin a4......
Damn! That's one ugly acoustic bass 😵💫😳😬 sounds ok though, glad they weren't afraid to take a chance with that monstrosity... I guess. 🤷
sounds bad :o
Thomann is selling Sire products including GB5.
