Even Buffet sold TSM, I did not worry, I even added TSM recently, I will hold it for the next 10 years.

TSMC is also traded in Taiwan with a separate ticker symbol. Is it possible that trading done by insiders are done through the Taiwanese TSMC shares instead?
Also, not sure why Buffet sold when the potlical issue was always there long before he bought in. Sounds like something more is going on inside his team, rather than what he said... That said, I'm not worried about the political tension or geographical location. If something happens to Taiwan, its not only time to sell TSMC, but all my stocks as the market will definitely crash. Heck, who cares about the stock market if an invasion or war breakout between Taiwan and China. Taiwan is not Ukraine, so the US will come to aid. Both fortunately and unfortunately, Taiwan offers a lot more than Ukraine, both politically, geographically, and technologically (chips).

TSM’s geopolitical risk had been overstated and exaggerated by western media, TSM will continue to deepen its root in Taiwan, 3nm/2nm will continue to dominate high end chip market

Great video! Im invested, the china risk is there but so is it for every other company that is relying in TSMC, so basically every major tech-company out there haha, love the company and hope that the China situation gets sorted one way or another.. Good that they are diversifying locations of their factories :D

TSMC is a great company, and even after Buffet sold his stock I didn't get terrified because it is an extremely important company for the technology sector. We know that Nvidia relies heavily on TSMC, and I was surprised Buffett sold his stock. In fact, after Buffet selling all his stake, I added a little more money because of the low valuation. Something noteworthy to mention here is that the company gave an impressive 55% return to date since the day Buffet sold his stake (16 May 2023)! You bring up a good point. It is not ridiculously expensive like Nvidia. In fact, what is relieving for me is that the company's mega plant launch date in Arizona in the US is scheduled to start its manufacturing in the first half of 2025. That should ease many of the geopolitical tensions. A kind of company you can invest and forget, and if the price goes lower you just add more money.

TSM is high quality company. So you have to apply a premium, so the conventional valuation is far from accuracy. My average price is $90 and I consider that a steal.
Also TSM is making moves to spread the operation all over the world to de-risk a bit the situation with china. Aside from the HQ in Taiwan, they are also building in US, Germany and Japan. Once those fabs are built and operational, the fear in chinese invasion will go down.

Great company. I decided to buy ASML instead (when it was much cheaper). ASML is even more important for the chip industry and it is not based in Taiwan. To be fair if China invades Taiwan everybody will be in deep trouble because trade will take a massive hit and chips will be very rare.

That was exactly the purpose of the Chips Act, to bring manufacturing capability onshore for our own national security. I work for a Semi tool supplier, we've expanded/are expanding multiple locations and building 4 new ones. Love my job.

    Thanks a lot ❤ Love it 🌹
However, I believe that the location is exactly how the company can be scored as the highest among the worldwide for the security issues. 😊

@@BaldInvestor It is listed as one of the stocks with a Deep Value, and great EPS growth for the next five years. Lot of debt though and low profit margins.

Thanks for covering this company. I’m very bullish on this company. Started buying it when it was in the $70s as I felt this company is crucial for multiple sectors/industries. Bought more shares In the past 6 months when I saw the Potential of AI and TSMs importance into its development. Keep up the good work. Big fan of ur channel

Warren Buffet is dead wrong on this investment. The risk is overstated. How many wars Israel engaged in the last fifty years, and how many Taiwan engaged: zippo!

There will be in the future fabs in US, Germany and Japan. It is highly probably that those fabs will be built before even the actual invasion of Taiwan will take place (if that ever happens).
