I think its pretty clear the difference here was Minnesotas DL vs Buffalos OL. Improvement in the trenches is obviously necessary, but I think it also shows that MAC play should be more successful this year. Lot to like early from both sides, just got overwhelmed by talent and depth eventually.
@@Rickzplayz9 the Dline gets lots of instant wins and missed blocks regardless of ratings involved, my 92 ovr coastal Carolina dynasty still gets instant pressure vs 70 ovr d linemen it’s just part of the game on heisman
Loved the way you laid out the new starters at the beginning of the video. Would like to see that at the start of each new year as the team cha ges so much in college football. Excited for the new season Cane!
It sure was, I wish EA would've KEPT progressive lighting in the game. It's so frustrating that they continue to miss the minor details. Then, they will bring it back talking about it's a new feature lol.
0:38 It looks like Sperling used his offseason training points to upgrade his safety valve ability to gold instead of upgrading his overall since the points are used for both the ratings and abilities
It’s also fairly random and very inconsistent without motivators. Sperling could have low rolled *and* missed out on a motivator bonus while choosing to work on physical abilities.
Part of the reason I love this series is the realism. Minnesota going down 6-0 to Buffalo in week 1 and getting dominated in every aspect of the game before eventually coming back in what looks like a minor blowout is basically real life.
Very impressive game today from Andy McKenzie, Jonathan Starks, Kevin Martindale, Terrance Johnson, and, of course, Leon Daniels (the GOAT)! I think the Gophers can win a couple of championships if they keep playing like this, although I could see them losing a heartbreaker to Georgia at some point.
I think you need faster developing run plays. It takes to long to go from snap, to QB, to RB, and when it gets there , its been too long and the line has collapsed. A lot of the negative run plays were RPOs, maybe we just only pass and never run on those calls.
It’s tough bc the team was most effective running out of rpos last season. And you can’t just decide to always pass from an rpo. That’s how you get flooded with turnovers by not actually making a read.
It’s so fun watching a college game on your channel with the gophers (even though you aren’t playing as them 😂) because that’s how I found your channel all those years back. Kinda nostalgic
I just refreshed my feed hoping you had dropped the Season 2 opener and sure enough it’s here. Let’s goooo Caine can’t wait to see what Buffalo is cooking this season
I'd move Sperling to slot. You can still use him on outside runs or touch passes. Which is his strength. He doesn't have the break tackle you need for those inside runs. You have at least two other RBs that would be better on those for consistency at least.
Also. #52 on Defense can rush the passer. Even before his sack, I had been focusing on him when on the field. He had a few more " almost got thru moves". He might dominate on MAC games.
This was a tough one, I think Gray looked really solid in this, if he can tighten up the placement of some of his throws I think he'll be deadly. His WRs didn't help him out though with a number of dropped, albeit, contested throws. But they need to come down with some of those when they get hit in the hands. Otherwise, it was interesting to see that it was actually the secondary on defence that seemed to struggle the most while the D-Line was getting sacks and forcing their QB to make quick decisions. Excited to see what this season has in store for us.
Straight up pulverized but there still feels like such promise in this team. They just got crushed today. I like Gray so far. I will miss Ogbana but he did good here. Sidenote the sunset visuals for the game look so beautiful it’s like being there in reality.
You are not in a pickle at Slot Corner. Yes, it's tue your 3rd & 4th corners each have a big weakness. But True freshman athlete Harris, currently redshirted, has 91 speed, 73 man, 72 zone, and while his press is 30, this is not a factor at slot corner. And his CB archetype is Slot.
Burch NEEDS to bring that ball in. Definitely a momentum turning point in Minnesota's favor. Love the series. I found your channel way back when you were the Gophers in your dynasty. Keep up the great work, Cane!
As a gopher fan myself, that was a very vintage opening week win for them lol. Too much passing but otherwise slow start but ultimately win by multiple scores against a bad school.
You gotta try some possession catches sometimes I think especially with burch it'll be useful even if he goes down right away he should at least make the catch but be careful if the receiver is close they'll sometimes jump the route and run in front of the receiver when he goes for a possession catch Also if you're getting beat from one side of the d-line I find doing half slide on the o line to that side helps a lot but you have to do it every play basically especially if the d lineman on that side is lined up pretty wide off the edge
I'd like to see sperling get more receptions. Maybe motion out as a receiver and some diff screen formations. Great job creating qb pressure! Go bulls!
Definitely winnable. That being said your O line got cooked all day by Devin Eastern and Lanier is apparently unplayable. May be a long season. But you played pretty good today.
I think there are some silver linings even though the game didn’t go the way we wanted. The defense played extremely well except for the coverage breakdowns from the slot. If you see all the big plays from Lanier, he was lined up in the slot. I think you should prioritize speed and strength over all right now. Other than that, team has definitely improved since last season.
Hey Cane. Idk if you’re using a custom playbook or not, but a play you might like is Shotgun Slot Right, PA TE Wheel. Designed to create matchup nightmares across the middle and open up the TE outside the numbers
Pretty promising game to be honest. I think you played well and the talent difference was the clear decider. When you can't run the ball it's going to be tough
Once the Gophers d-line woke up, that was it. Grey looked good early. Nice pocket presence, sense of pressure was good. Throws looked nice. But once our o-line started getting beat, it fell apart for him. MAC play should bring more w's this season.
I played with this roster in dynasty. Get marrow more involved! His release is great and he’s reliable. Sperling in my dynasty was my starting running back and had fumbling issues so I had to move him to wide receiver and he was a good playmaker opposite marrow. That opened up the rb spot for a freshman and have Henderson a reliable backup for me. Love the series!! Keep it up!
Just a quick tip, but make sure you look at your depth chart before each game. My team constantly wants to put a RG as my starting LG. Even though the RG has higher attributes he still gets beat badly compared to me putting the LG that's worse in. I learned if they don't have Team Player as a mental badge then they play way worse out of position. So I constantly check to make sure my O-Line has the right people in the right positions. Same with D-Line, OLB, RLE, and RRE. It constantly tries switching them to other players that don't play that position and they do so much worse.
I know you're excited about landing Ray Elway and how your current QBs will develop but I really think you should consider seeing if you can land an Athlete QB with the Scrambler tendency even if he's only a 2 star prospect. He could roll out with 90+ Speed and Throw Power and I think that will be a much bigger help to how Buffalo is going to struggle with a lesser OL. You'll be able to counteract his lesser stats like Awareness because you'll be controlling him. There were times during this game where you played where having that physically gifted QB would have been a great benefit. Having an ultra fast QB with a cannon for an arm could be a ticket to greatly improving your chances at winning when the rest of your roster is so scrapped together. Just my two cents, loving the series and here for the ride that can only go up from here regardless!
Please start Richie Watts Cane!! His skill caps are WIDE open, and the experience starting will help him develop. In my opinion - he’s the future of this team!
If the wideouts are gonna have as little separation as they did today then it'd probably be a good idea to just stick the best contested catch guys out there
Gray has à chance to be a good one. Bridges has pro potential. The obvious issue is the trenches. Overall I thought Buffalo looked better. Looking forward to the season
I think you have to start sliding the line to a side (it helps when your O-line is not that strong to block one-on-one) and don’t do full slides jus half makes the line pickup blitzes a bit easier.
Gotta anticipate those deep corner routes. So many open guys down field once they break. Granted, the OL getting dominated all game and the constant pressure as a result doesn’t help :/
Jealous you get to keep playing this game. I did the update and then the scheme change that jacked up all my players. Looking forward to the next title update.
Do you do anything when playing as a defensive lineman on defense or just let CPU takeover? I notice if I do nothing the player just gets blocked backwards
@MrHurriicane While we're on the subject, Nolan Ziegler's surname appears to be pronounced zig-ler, not zeeg-ler; most, if not all official team media I could find of him uses the former.
The angles of pursuit from cbs and safeties are abysmal in this game. Also blocking the running back or TE often would probably help the pressure on passes
Cane you need fewer targets in recruiting. Focus heavy on some better prospects get commits then you can find straggling 3 stars. You could realistically get a few 4 stars and a handful of 3 star gems if you target like 10-15 players for the first half instead of 20+
I think its pretty clear the difference here was Minnesotas DL vs Buffalos OL. Improvement in the trenches is obviously necessary, but I think it also shows that MAC play should be more successful this year. Lot to like early from both sides, just got overwhelmed by talent and depth eventually.
Problem is that it’s just CF25 gameplay doesn’t really have much to do with ratings

Couple negative yards much less impactful than throwing a pick into coverage though

I was actually feeling pretty hopeful early on, but watching that OL made me very sad
As a Gopher fan, I cant decide if I should look at this as W or a L.
Wild question, but how do you get into practice in your dynasty?
I’m in season 2 with E Michigan we just beat Notre Dame 18-13 with no offensive touchdowns 1-1 feeling good bout my team so far
I deleted the team ik I’m a 🐱 but I’m using FIU and I’m in year 3 with a record of 3-4

I wonder how it would have gone with Bridges following Lanier everywhere 🤔
Offense let the defense down in this one. The rhythm was good just couldn’t get in the end zone. Gary doesn’t look bad tho
My head cannon is that Ray Elway is John Elway’s nephew
Dang did Darius Taylor transfer from Minnesota in this dynasty 😢He's always like a 92 overall season 2!
