- Coming into this journey… I was afraid of guns and had only shot 200-300 rounds my whole life… now I’m having fun!
Being both new to shooting as well as the competitive component... I begin in both USPSA and IDPA as those organizations are the largest for Action Pistol. This brief video is a summary of my First Year of Shooting!
Stay tuned in months to come as I’ll be creating additional content on my RUclips Channel as well as on IG.
Fantastic analysis! I can’t tell you how valuable this is to me as a new usada shooter myself. Thank you! I’m looking forward to seeing your journey.
THM sent me. Good stuff. Look forward to more!
Great video!! I have been shooting Uspsa for a year and a half now. It’s a blast, got to b class within the first year and now trying to move forward. It’s all dedication and practice. I love the challenge. Right now I am working a lot on movement and shooting earlier. Hope you keep progressing and have fun
Humble sent me. This looks awesome. Really looking forward to watching the development/analysis of your shooting skills.
That's the smartest way to start out-- just dive into competition. You know how much bs he skipped, wasting ammo at the static range, moving from platform to platform, unlearning bad technique etc. He probably made more progress in one year than most do in a lifetime.
Truth.
I'm just starting out in USPSA and I have a feeling I'm going to love this channel.
The Humble Marksman sent me over and I’m glad that I’m here.
Look forward to seeing your journey
Thank you for the video. I want to get into IDPA and I appreciate your journey.
Great so see a video on this perspective-
Lee - USPSA VP
Excited to find your channel on my late night insomnia trip. I also was interested in 3 gun fun, but I think pistol competitions make more sense for me as a newbie who wants to buy a quality gun and still have money for ammo and practice.
Very impressive how early on in your shooting career you decided to compete. I’m only a year-and-a-half in, with about 13,000 rounds total in. I started out with a Walther PPQ M2 and halfway through, upgraded to a Walther PDP 4.5” full-size. I have yet to compete. I’ll be watching your progress with great interest.
subscribed! I love learning about new covid shooters. I'm one of them too! 32k rounds must have been fun t shoot through. I've shot 15k in the last year and I thought that was a lot! Hoping to shoot with you one day.
I just followed! Wonderful video.
I’ve just started IDPA a few months ago. I can tell I’m improving, be it at a glacial pace, but David’s channel provided me with other mechanics to be mindful of rather than just accuracy. I’m very interested to see what you post!
David has incredible knowledge on that matter. When I was searching for new competitive shooter content… his content always resonated with me.
The interesting thing you may have discovered and/or already experienced as you go further into this… is that how many little nuisance have to be mastered along the way… I always jokingly say… “if football is a game of inches… the this sport is a game of millimeters!” Good luck to you and keep at it!
It was great watching this video again after both of us started 2 years ago!
You’re crushing it! 💪🏻
This is inspiring…. Waiting for more to come!!!!! ✊
Hey… You did great the other night… keep shooting my friend! When I first saw you shoot…. You reminded me alot of what I was like when I started… keep at it my friend!
@@TheGentlemanGunner thank you!! I watched your video twice. Your video boost my confidence that I could be like you one day 😄. And I must say you are true “gentleman gunner”. See you in the next match
Dude, 30k+ in a year?! I hope you understand just how INSANE that is. I wish I had such opportunities. Hunting for primers is kicking my ass. Great vid, dude. Sub’d!
at a dollar a round? That's 30Gs. He couldn't find a Glock 34? If you have that kind of money to spend, some will sell you theirs. He got pouty at one match so he flew to another.
Great videos. I'm starting out myself. Havent shot in over 43 years and looking forward to learning more about shooting competitive. You have a good teaching manner about you. You give me some hope for sure. So, I've subscribed and look forward too more. Can you also recommend another channel for me to watch. Keep up the good work..
Thank you and look forward to hearing about your progress!
I’ll definitely recommend the @thehumblemarksman for both shooter development and general knowledge of the sport.
Even at $0.30/rd, that's an incredible investment in ammunition in the first year. Did you find the expenses involved rewarding?
I’d yes because I made every round count and was intentful… it just took longer to develop than I personally would’ve liked… but that was my investment and no regrets
Awesome 👍
Good luck to you. ... After working 40+ hours every week, being a community volunteer, and doing all of the other things in life (yard work, because like most people I can't afford a gardner), keeping my car on the road, keeping a roof over my head, there is no time and money left for competitive shooting.
Damn, that's more than one match per week! Nine matches short of two a week.
It helps that we have weekday matches in the afternoon with smaller clubs in our area which is where I tend to “test” new theories and parts/ammo.
@@TheGentlemanGunner I like that idea.
Hey brother that’s so much I have my first USPDA match next week! David Goggins states, “Embrace the suck”! I’m low but descent accuracy but I hold shots to long plus not comfy shooting on the move yet! Thanks
The point is that you’re going… the hardest step is typically the first! Look forward to hearing how it goes!
Touche!
Over 90 matches in ayead a year?? Respect , not sure if I shot 90 in my life. Not to mention if I did that much shooting in a year ,I would probably be single by now and wouldn't be able to afford shooting at all. :):)
Yes nice
Great video thanks for sharing your story, we are also beginner shooters and would love to join a competition to
Damn bro. You spent $10,000+ on ammo. What do you do for work?
I’m a fractional executive
@@TheGentlemanGunner ah ok man. I own a painting company so i do get to invest a little more into this hobby than others lol. Just was curious as other people who invest in it as much as me are usually also in interesting jobs.
Budget... Unlimited... Lol
Wow, tell me ur loaded without saying ur loaded.
