Superb pilot, especially for holding his hand up and admitting it was his own error. Good Man.
Well it's not like he has much of a choice innit.
Can't blame a copilot and clearly the plane had no control problem to get in that bad place
He could have blamed wake turbulence from his own aircraft, but that's besides the point. His quick diagnosis of the situation is accurate, he draws his conclusions for the next time (lest there is one), and he sets out his plan to deal with the consequences of his mistake. More than just admitting his mistake, he comes off as frank, level-headed, and professional in the face of a very lucky accident. Fantastic pilot.
Freaken wing g stall at 30 feet and flies away. Skill. Never out of the fight
He is lucky its was water and not tarmac. None the less executed the recovery flawlessly.
@@soulsnatcher9228 true that mate 👍🏻
@@soulsnatcher9228 i did actually consider that fact that flat water definitely played a big part, and imagined the Race, for example in America, where they fly over terrain. Mmmm. Could have been well different. Great save all the same.
Really just comes to show you how strong those stunt planes are.
Bounced it off the Water and flew it back home- REGISTERED BADASS.
Saved by skills and a powerfull engine !
But got himself in it too
Saved by ground effect
No, saved by reducing AOA and max performing the wing.
That’s an awesome recovery. I can only imagine how terrifying it was
the doctor said: "you are fine, but i think your sphincter will never open ever again..."
😂😂😂😂😂👍
wow!!! this man had a miracle and a good plane. he came in and stalled and recovered! this man was a very nice pilot
Over commits - but what a great pilot to level out, not panic, and then elevate. Well done Matt - spectacular flying
karizma8175 What a great comment. Thank you
Typical Aussie, wants a surf before finishing work.
no veggie sanger though. What a disappointing day this must've been
Lol. Maybe next time he should land the plane first and grab his board.
Well, he just proved his wife still likes him.
Well, she did until that point. Now she wants a guy who works in IT.
@@Woodymbr I'm in!!!
LMFAOOO absolutely
Either that or she was devastated that he lived
Excellent film footage and sound. Pilot has some skills.
I actually felt three impacts, two when I hit the water and the other, my shit hitting my pants.
What a pro, I've been seeing him fly around Newcastle in the past couple of months.
Oh my god, how many cameras had they rolling?😂
Kjno
I’m not complaining tho the more angles the better
Yea, maybe alittle too good. Publicity stunt??
@@chadanderson2486 not everything is a conspiracy, man.
@@austinmaccarthy2095 it would be so difficult to do if you were trying it, he just reacted and got lucky 😂😂
С виду то, обычные люди...две руки 2 ноги.... я к тому что, так мастерски управлять самолетом! На таких скоростях нужна суперреакция... про перегрузки вообще речи нет...!!!
He did what every pilot should do in a event......keep flying the plane!
From the guy you flew an F15 over Baghdad. Reflexes of a steel trap. Amazing.
thank you for a powerful engine
Oh I'm sorry I thought that was landing gear under his plane. Nope, those are his nutts! Damn impressive!
No, it's actually the landing gear
@@ghostl337 your dumb
@@sirgriffinman*you're.
Saved by experience and talent! Crazy stuff
"Equivalent of a race driver touching the wall"
No dude, not even close.
:-)
Sully: it is next to impossible to land a non amphibious aircraft safely on water, but you surely can't touch and go.
Matt: hold my beer...
Wow wow wow what a save and awsome pilot skills and instincts. That innocent look on that little girl when her mum cries out totally innocently unaware of what nearly happened
Matt Hall is a hero !!!
Great HD Vidd - Oh and great flying
Reactionary skill. Insane level of concentration.
Listen to the Matt's interview podcast on AviationCast - he tells the story, wow, that was a great recovery.
It was just plain luck, never mind what he says.
Tremendo piloto, excelente la reacción de admirar Señor Piloto felicitaciones
Skilled pilot, it's awesome
Excellent manobra, parabéns ao piloto e a postagem. Forte abraço!
Rj Brasil..
Can you imagine if this production company went out in search of Bigfoot? Imagine all the HD camera angles!
They would finally get that shot of the zipper in the back of the monkey suit.
One of these milli seconds moments
Strong ass plane, strong ass engine and even stronger balls of steel and skill 💪
Extraordinary recovery great flying skill ,!
That was an incredible save of the aeroplane.
What a horrible gut wrenching terrifying and private moment for his family to experience.......so lets put it on TV !!!! 0:21
Thanks to advanced carbonfibre techniques, that thing held up without ripping wings or wingtips off :)
reporter: -Matt, what do we say to the god of death?
Matt: -Not today!
The little girl at :24 expression was like "WHUT Mommie, can't I just play my game, jeez"
Incredibly quick and accurate recovery. If love to know the response time. Such a delicate landing as well. He was probably concerned for his gear structure.
Kept that nose out of the water and wings on.. Good on ya, lad. That family reaction tho..
"In The Zone"
Always good to see the pilot walk away under his own steam after one of those.
very nice water tuch down
God and physics gave him just enough lift wings level to pull him out of the grave.
thank god matt was safe
Lost a wheel fairing. Can’t get any closer than that. Lucky Man... May I also say a very well documented incident.
GREAT FLYING... GREAT SAVE ! Any other pilot might not have made it.
A little bit of luck with a lots of skills.
Luck favors the prepared.
The other way around would definitely suffice as well
Amazing
Awesome mindset. . . His end interviewed account was composed, with balanced, accurate & relevant points of substance. . . including stating a requirement for "rest". . . as incident will have more affect soon.
Nicely handled. Pleased all ok.
MASTER OF ENGINES...BRAVOOOO...
still one of the craziest things I've ever seen :O
This dude has got to be a Jedi!!!
2020 and I am still shaking ... so is your wife/partner ! ... CHEERS MATE
Que barbaro logro sacar el avión del agua.. excelente maniobra..
I hope he brought a pair of clean shorts with him that day, I bet he needed them.
Extra 10 points.
It's pretty obvious why that close call happened.......With those big ass balls weighing the plane down and all. I'm impressed he could even make it back to the landing strip.
TOUCH AND GO BABY
Balls of steel
It's great 👍.
Epic move to save own life.
That is one bad ass pilot
CRAZY !!!
Amazing the wing did not rip off.
That’s a real touch and go 👍
Reborn
The ultimate trilogy, luck, a good airplane and a shit ton of skill
He 'spat' in the water... hehe
Both wings and tail touch the water, it's a good thing the propeller didn't touch the water too!
God bless ground effect
great flying skills and at least one or two guardian angels at your side !
This video is shown in 156 angles.
Most detailed video.
Whooohah!!! This was scary-close to death!
Pilot after this flight:
"Did you like my newest maneuver/trick???". ;]
My goodness! You had angels flying with you Sir.
Please be careful.
what’s that brown stain on the seat
Vous êtes dingues les mecs !
Well.. nice flying. I tip my barre ..
to the .. ??? Ppl.. wings provide lift .. aslong you got air going over the ving
But if you look carful .. he turn so hard he "" fell truh the air "" but recovred .. .. on the ground effekt Cushings the air under the plain
Truh ice in the waines!! Like a rasing driver feeling the car.. he felt No resistance (G) in His panz..
Good job Sir . I tip my barre
Now that's a good day's work, go home have a beer.
WOW. What's more amazing is they milked this video for over 4 minutes!
And you were forced to watch none of it.
@@l3gionmusic814 Please, show us on the doll where my post touched you to force a response.
@@OhMySack Were you offended by my basic statement or something? Especially when you consider that what I said was true.
@@l3gionmusic814 You could just fuck off and move along...that would be just fine.
Wish they bring it back to the region.
Me too. I went to the one in 2008 and it was awesome.
That couldn't have been any closer
What a chad!
As a seaplane pilot, I’ve landed on water a bunch of times...obviously. Water is really hard, especially at that speed. There’s many examples of airplanes with landing gear touching down on water and skipping along then taking back off.
Okay I’ll give you one thing. If he hadn’t leveled the wings it would have rolled into a ball, so he does get credit for situational awareness, wings level, tail low.
It looked worse than it actually was. Again we land on water all the time.
So your friends with Sully huh?? Damn thats a good pilot!
so he makes a mistake by hitting the water and that makes him a good pilot, last I looked that makes him a bad pilot!
He has some reactions tho
He acts all disappointed but I would be going “bro did you see that shit”
Ryan Streuli im pretty sure he did that 😂😂😂😂😂
Bloody hell nice recovery that's for sure 🏁🏁🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺Matts poor wife though heart skipped few beats like his would of
3:06 checks pants for wetness lol
thank heavens for big bunches of horsepower!
Ufff too close!
He just did a "Sully", no big deal.😏
Senior pilot
If these kind of planes werent super agile that would have definetly spelt disaster
Everybody's got this wrong. He was obviously just "testing the waters" for a victory "lap".
Keren, menantang banget, membutuhkan skill yg bagus,
jaja Matt Hall ....in der "Messerlage" geht die Höhe schnell futsch. Glück gehabt!
He made an mistake ,but it takes skill and amazing muscle memory to pull that of . Most people freeze and this is what happens in most near death cases like car crahses etc 😉
