      Tai Lopez easiest way to describe it is sumo is like low bar squat.
      Sumo favors people with a very specific build, he has long legs so automatically sumo is bad.
      Sumo doesn’t build strength/mass like conventional does, sumo is purely a competition lift. Much like the low bar squat, if you have the build for it and you want to perform the most weight possible in a powerlifting competition, you will train that way. Whereas an explosive athlete or bodybuilder who wants mass and raw strength, high bar squat builds more actual muscle.
      Sumo is the same thing, Alexander Bromley made a video talking about that.
      Training sumo as an ACCESSORY to conventional is good esp for people who have weaknesses that sumo can enhance, but that’s to enhance your conventional deadlift, only pulling sumo will not build mass and raw strength.
      Hence why there’s so many short Asian sumo pullers with 500lbs+ deadlifts @150lbs who can barely bench 225 and squat barely 315. The ratio is absurdly off because it’s more so for abuse.
      Also conventional simply put uses more mental and physical strength. Sumo uses more technique much like oly lifting.
      Someone who only pulls sumo and still has a shitty number is gonna respond to me and tell me I’m wrong, meanwhile people who know regardless of how they pull will agree with me.

      My big brother did the samenandnhe isn't even close to having the training nor athleticism. He is a lineman. I know for a fact my bro doesn't juice. So it is definitely possible especially if your genetics are made for you to be able to evolve that quickly. I was able to do a 40 in 5.5 seconds. After a month and a half I was able to do it in 4.61 seconds. Some people are just made with certain genetic factors that allow them to evolve faster than normal. That goes for mental abilities as well.

      Only one of the deadlifts are off blocks and it’s one of his lighter lifts. His heaviest deadlifts aren’t off blocks. I don’t I’d count his squats though. His 345 bench was fine.

    • @shlok-vp4xr
      @shlok-vp4xr 4 года назад +1

      Realistically I think he could get
      315 paused bench ass on bench no spotter
      440 squat to depth
      Legit 600 sumo deadlift
      155 lbs standing press
      Overall still very respectable strength and a great deadlift

    • @gaiseric9518
      @gaiseric9518 4 года назад +2

      @@shlok-vp4xr What make's it impressive is his body type is very lanky and agile. So normally those numbers aren't achievable without sustainable hard work. Because of his ability to lift heavy with his frame, he can be both fast and strong. Which explains why he is undefeated.

    • @shlok-vp4xr
      @shlok-vp4xr 4 года назад

      @@gaiseric9518 yeah, he has great leverage for the deadlift but 315 on the bench is quite good considering his long arms. 440 squat isnt bad either. He does weigh like 230-240 lbs tho, leverages are important but muscle mass matters more. Also, he isnt undefeated, he clearly lost to reyes

They don't make anything easier in terms of requiring less effort, if anything they require more effort and will as you knowingly damage your health with them, but as of hard work and doing something to achieve something - they change nothing. Also Jones never lost, with or without steroids and type and amount found in him wouldn't make almost any difference (yet is enough to be banned, as it should of course). Bones Jones, your knees should be directly under you when doing suats, your feet should be shoulder width apart and your knees should not point inward or outward when you are at the bottom of your squat.Change this soon or a hernia will be coming your way, I want to see you back in the octagon but if you are going up the HW division you need to do heavy weights at low to mediumm reps and 300 + pounds is not going to get it on the suat rack,you should be starting with about 315lbs

      +splitting atoms This is false. Squat stance is determined by you bone structure. It's not good to tell EVERYONE to squat ONE way only, were all build differently. Your bone structure will determine wether you should squat with a narrow stance or a wide stance. Also as you squat down your knees need to be pointed SLIGHTLY outwards as you get in the bottom of the rep, not forward. This is key to optimizing squat performance. Bryce Lewis, Matt Ogus, and Joni Candito are prime examples of this.

    He's a freak but arching his back on benching? Incompetent Trainers. Too much weight & poor form making even more susceptible to injury.
    His legs are still skinny vests too wide of a squat stance. Dumb. It's not a Sumo squat.
    Training is too build strength & muscle not see the poundage you handle.

      You're an idiot, this is a powerlifting gym, if you knew anything about it you would know that you're supposed to arch your back during a bench press, sumo squat? You can't even tell the diffence between a deadlift and a squat. He has long limbs so for squatting the ROM is longer for him during a squat, and shorter during Deadlift due to his long arms. The whole purpose of powerlifting is to move as much as weight as possible, using arch and tricks to shorter the ROM. You're ignorant.

    Great fighter. Terrible lifting form without hitting 90s. Not a negative post. I just want to see him push to a real limit if lifting is what is being shown, same as his fighting. Make a deadlift a deadlift and a squat a squat the way you make a punch a punch and a takedown a takedown.

    POWERLIFTING WILL NOT MAKE JONES A BETTER FIGHTER. THIS IS A MISTAKE. JONES WILL LOSE FLEXIBILITY STAMINA AGILITY AND A LITTLE BIT OF SPEED BECAUSE OF POWER LIFTING. HIS FOOT WORK WON'T BE AS GOOD EITHER. HE NEEDS TO STICK TO THE TRAINING THAT MADE HIM CHAMPION. JON JONES BODY TYPE REMINDS ME OF MUHAMMAD ALI'S BODY TYPE IN HIS PRIME. MUHAMMED ALI NEVER POWER LIFTED AND HE WAS POSSIBLY THE GREATEST EVER.

      +I'm a butthurt mgtow and women suck because I'm butthurt. If you do everything with text book form you wont progress as fast when it comes to powerlifting, the real strength gains are made when you just about squeeze out that final rep, that's when you improve your nervous system and force your body to change, provided his form isn't bad to the point he's risking injury there is nothing wrong with straying from text book form.
