Look at you swapping in sexy B roll with your A roll tour! See, next thing you know you’re going to have a giant camera and stabilizer… 😂 Dude, that setup looks SO GOOD. It really amps up the look of the Tundra. Perfect combo on the lux Tundra!
For breaking not only the weight but I dont know what to really call it but its like a reverse gear ratio because of the increase in diameter of the tire that's sending more energy back to the break rotors which in turn takes more to stop. I really notice it with the 40s.
Enjoying your channel and your Tundra is looking sweet! We vacation in Destin yearly, sometimes twice a year. We stay at Silver Beach Towers. Maybe we will see you cruising around in that beast the next time we are down there. I knew you lived in Florida but I guess I never realized it was in the Destin area.
looks good, they should come with at least 35s from the factory imo and the offroad variants optional 37s, the stock tires look so goofy and disproportionate.
37’s look great, only issue I had was on the highway and going over hills and inclines at highway speeds it would want to downshift, around town though it was fine.
That's what I was trying to explain in the driving portion of the video. We don't have many hills here in FL but it would wanna downshift a little yes.
Great video! What is the exact height to the shark fin and roof? I am deciding between the 2” and 3” lift dobinsons ims lift. I need to be able to clear 82” height. Is yours under 82” at the shark fin?
After running the 37's with the 17" rims what was the mpg. After watching your video I really like the look of that setup. Especially running the 11.50 width tires. I'm currently running 35x12.50R20 Nitto Grabblers and am getting 12.75 mpg.
Awesome looking! Not entirely sold on the 17's with 37's as it gives it the "balloon" tire look. Almost like it could float on water. Overall looks so much better.
Love your truck. Planning to get one very similar to your's. Question, and maybe i missed it in your previous videos. Why did you opt for the iForce and not the iForce Max? I'm on the fence on which engine to get. Thx
That looks sick bro!!! I’m tryin hard to find anything negative and I really can’t, but if I had to give a negative it would be the wheels. I love the wheels themselves, but, on the video at least, they look a little small. Not sure what size they are as I’m writing this, but if they’re 17’s than 18’s would probably look better. Again, I’m just nitpicking lol the truck is great and significantly improved over the oem for sure!!! 🤙 Edit: yeah they’re 17’s so 18’s would probably look better, but I’m goin off a video and they may look perfect in person.
@@TRDJon yeah ok that’s it then the 37’s, yeah. Still not bad, just looks a little small on the 37’s, but yeah 18’s would be perfect for the 37’s. I had 38’s on my old F250 on 20’s but it was a much bigger truck-F250 6.7 so I’m also used to bigger wheels. When I got my 21 T4R TRD ORP the TRD Pro 17’s looked small to me at first too, but now I don’t think I’d go larger on the 4Runner. At least not until I do my lift-level kit one of these days and see how it looks.
Just picked up my Tundra today, was looking at your lift you did but saw a video on RUclips where someone said they had issues with the axles leaking, have you encountered any issues with the lift on the Tundra?
John did your Tundra came with thetowing mirrors , why i am asking i knew your Sequoia came with thetowing mirrors if you swaped them to your tundra did you haveto get them calibrated at the dealor thanks
wondering if this is possible to get a good ride without having to replace the UCAs? don't really have anywhere here in town that will install aftermarket UCAs
How are you getting such good MPG’s? I have a 22 tundra and I’m getting 15mpg in the city and 18 highway (I live in Phoenix). We are putting on a 3” Ready Lift SST kit w/fox shocks this week. Swapping the TRD 20’s for 18” Method NV 305 wheels with 295/70R18 KO2’s. We were going to do true 35’s but worried about rubbing so went down a little. Can’t wait to see all the other goodies you’ll be adding.
@@TRDJonI see. Is it something one should look at when switching to 37s? You did mention that the truck likes to hang back on the 8th gear. I'm just trying to weigh my options between 35s & 37s. It really really looks good on 37s.
Love how informative you've been in these videos & I really appreciate the responsiveness man. I know you don't have this tundra anymore. Any plans on getting a future one or just sticking with the v8?
Think you’re going to need regear with 37s? I saw someone else with 37s who had their transmission overheating. I have a platinum iforce max I was wanting to put 37s on. Wondering if that’ll need a regear.
I got it all through Yotamafia. They supply at all so you can do the brake lines in the suspension kit on their site. I put the link to their site in the description for you.
Hi, my tundra currently has the trd 3 inch lift kit. I ordered new wheels with rrw +25 offset and plan to use 37s tires. What do you think? Will it have any effect on power? I live in Colorado. Thanks🙏
Thanks for modding and posting. Enjoy your channel. I'm waiting for a 2024 Tundra release, so this is very helpful. I'm planning on 3 inch suspension lift on 35 x 12.5 AT with R18 wheels, but your 37 x 11.5 R 17 looks proportionally fitting for a Tundra. Have you been able to measure the overall height increase from your suspension and wheel setup? I imagine it would be around 84 inches tall?
It's close to 84" yes. It still fits in my garage. Thanks! The only thing is in photos the wheels look a little small compared to the larger 37" tires. But in real life it's perfect imo.
SPC UCA are great. Just be certain you have it aligned by a shop that has experience with them. Also, what do your CV angles look like after 3 inch of lift?
Looks great! Are you upgrading or adding some spacers to the bump stops (especially in the front)? Also, did you do at least a diff drop (icon)? Since you don't have the OR axles or extended front axles I heard that the factory ones (without OR package) are too short and can pop out destroying everything, especially with a 3 inch lift. PS. No hate just don't want to see something get destroyed on your truck
No I appreciate it. I may do the longer axels in the future. But I'm not doing any insane off roading with it to need the longer axels. But I will keep an eye on the boots to make sure that they don't get messed up.
@@TRDJon no problem at all! I’ll be doing a lift similar on my platinum soon as well. But on this year Tundra, it’s not even just the boot angle, it’s the axles actually being too short. I would highly recommend even just throwing the Icon diff drop in for now.

As a previous owner of many previous gen Tundra's I must say this truck is an embarrassment to the former Tundra legacy. Seriously it's small, sits about as high as a Ridgeline and is just not a good locking truck. What segment of truck is Toyota trying to compete in with this this latest generation?
Same one as last? Their own? Toyota doesn't care about taking down Ford or Chevy with the Tundra. That is what the Tacoma is for. But thanks for watching a video ON YOUR OWN and commenting just to express your opinion about the old vs new truck...
@TRDJon Apologies, your vid was great and the truck looks good, NOW. In its stock form it's just a far cry from the days of it pulling the spaceship. The friggin spaceship!
lol I'm sure the loss of the V8 still stings for sure. It sucks the way vehicles have to go for GOV compliance. This new one will have to prove itself for sure.
I’m a regular dude that likes GM trucks, but nothing looks better than a slightly lifted new generation Tundra on 35’s. Totally bad ass!

Just normal. Not sure what you mean by a grille guard. Not really a fan of bull bars if that is what you mean.
Like a full bull bar that covers the grille and lights. Often use to protect against deers.
