Carved into the rock with immense precision, it stands as the most significant monolithic rock-cut structure globally, with a height of approximately 100 feet and a length of 164 feet, covering an area nearly twice the size of the Parthenon in Athens.
The temple's construction is a marvel of ancient engineering, as it involved the removal of an estimated 200,000 tons of rock over many years. The intricate carvings on the temple's walls depict various mythological scenes, gods, goddesses, and animals, showcasing the exquisite craftsmanship of the artisans who worked on it.

ब्रिटिश अफसर जॉन स्मिथ स्थानीय चरवाहा की मदद से औरंगाबाद के जंगलों में शिकार कर रहे थे. शिकार करते हुए उन्होंने पाया पहाड़ों में बहुत सी गुफाएं हैं, जिनका मार्ग जंगल के पेड़ों से पूरी तरह ढक चुका है.
स्थानीय लोगों को गुफा के बारें में पहले से जानकारी थी. जॉन स्मिथ ने स्थानीय निवासियों को आग्रह किया वे फरसा कुल्हाड़ी आरा और मशाल लेकर आएं.
आपस में उलझे हुए पेड़ों ने गुफ़ाओं की ओर जाने का मार्ग रोक रखा था. इन्ही उलझे हुए पेड़ों को जॉन स्मिथ ने काटने का आदेश दिया.
पेड़ कटते ही पता चला यह 3000 हज़ार वर्ष पुरानी बौद्ध गुफाएं हैं, जिसका नाम है अजंता. इतिहास को दुबारा खोजने की तारीख थी 28 अप्रैल 1819.
5000 वर्ष से भी अधिक प्राचीन मोहन जोदड़ो और हड़प्पा सभ्यता जो बौद्ध सभ्यता थी, 1920 में रेल लाइन की खुदाई के वक़्त पुनराविष्कार किया गया.
1920 से पहले दुनिया जानती भी नही थी, सिंधु घाटी पर कभी बौद्ध सभ्यता थी. ज़मीन खोदोगे तो सतह के नीचे प्राचीन बौद्ध सभ्यता के अवशेष ही मिलेंगे.

There is no evidence of what Buddha said. Buddha had given all his knowledge orally to his disciples which were later compiled in the form of Tripitaka and Jataka tales.
Rama krishna Kauravas pandava and several rishi muni etc names and stories are there in jataka tales. Same in the case of Jainism.

I have visited Kailash temple in Ellora and must say its one of the wonders of the world. Architecture wise its better than Taj Mahal.

These 34 monasteries and temples, extending over more than 2 km, were dug side by side in the wall of a high basalt cliff, not far from Aurangabad, in Maharashtra. Ellora, with its uninterrupted sequence of monuments dating from A.D. 600 to 1000, brings the civilization of ancient India to life. Not only is the Ellora complex a unique artistic creation and a technological exploit but, with its sanctuaries devoted to Buddhism, Hinduism and Jainism, it illustrates the spirit of tolerance that was characteristic of ancient India.
That whole temple is related to Buddhism and some part to Jainism. Hindu just gave some random name Kailash to that temple and gave any name to some statues and structures as Hindu Gods. If that Vihara has any structure has anything related to Hindus then How don't Hindu didn't know anything about it, How did they didn't know everything about it and why there is not a single mention of it in any of Hindu scriptures. This itself prooves that whole structure is Buddhist Vihara and why will any Buddhist built anything related to Hindus? They built things related to Buddhism and Hindus are just renaming it and making up some fabricated stories to show it as own. Hindus can't do any constructive work Hinduism is famous for destruction and Shiva is also a symbol of destruction. So why will a place destroy to peace will promote destruction?

गुफाओं और मंदिरों के रख रखाव बहुत ही खराब है, मैं इसी महीने हो कर आया हूँ, इतनी दुर्गन्ध आती है की मै किसी भी गुफा में अपने आप को एक मिनट से अधिक नही रोक पाया।
