I'm serbian and you are making me really HAPPY with this Vlog :-) !!! Go Mina, go !!! Thank you very much for this Vlog and interducing part of serbian food to the world !! You should try PLJESKAVICA necessary !!!
In Poland the cabbage roll is called 'gołąbek' which literally translates to 'pigeon' 😂 I've seen people usually eat it with tomato sauce but I prefer to eat it the way you did! I'm kinda hungry now...
I truly missed you in this spot. I also, missed seeing you drink out of a measuring cup, and use toilet paper for hand towels. it makes the desire to be a minimalist even grater. This whole nostalgic feeling makes me happy. its something i truly took for granted. its like going back into time and smiling about something that happened to me years ago. that's the feels i get when i really sat down and thought about why do i miss this scene, space or even this person so much. its a lot of things combined , short version your a great person and a great narrator. oh, i miss the closet videos, as well. BRING THEM BACK!
Hisako NT From what I understand, minimalist try to live with less material belongings so they can focus on the things that make them happy. They try to live more simply rather than always trying to have the latest thing. Check out the article for more: www.theminimalists.com/minimalism/
At the deli, they were labeled "Blintz." Are they called different names in different countries? Or is the blini just the thin pancake and the blintz is a rolled pancake with stuffing?
It's so interesting to see how much climate influences the cuisine. Slavic and more northern countries have pretty harsh winters, so their foods seem to be very starchy carb and fat heavy; lots of breaded items, very thick stews with hardy vegetables and fattier cuts of meat, pretty neutral flavors when it comes to spicing as well. Then you see the countries more along the equator that experience more humidity and harsher summers incorporate more nutrient dense carbs (grains, bright selection of vegetables) and spices, since it's said that the heated and nutrient dense dishes help fight off bacteria and illnesses that seem to be more prevalent in humid areas due to the heat promoting bacteria growth.
Nice, Mina....I like the fact that your personality is very philosophical, thus, posing some interesting things about life ....{generalizations} :) *slavic* origin here!!!
Welcome back to America!!!! I am glad you enjoyed your trip and got to experience SO many different things. I love you and watching your videos is basically my life. ❤️😘🙌🏻🙌🏻
I'm from Slovenia and bee keeping has a big tradition here. We even wrote some of the oldest books on beekeeping. So much for honny not being slavic... ;-)
I love you always talking the things and thoughts that I've been thinking about but never bother to generalise and make them concrete;) I've tried some Russia chocolates before and I think they tasted more sweeter than usual ones. I'm eating air during this mukbang :p
Mina.. The cinnamon powder has expired 2 years ago.. 😄 but I think it is fine (?) since it's dry product.. Love all your videos! 💋 A fan from Indonesia 😊
Hello Mina! I write to you from the sunny city of Tbilisi :)) We also cook pancakes with cheese and meat. They better fry before eating and eat with sour cream))) And sweet pancakes we eat with jam or honey. Good luck to you!
Growing up, cabbage rolls were my favourite food. I could eat nearly half the contents of the pan my Mom made them in. It wasn't until my late teens before I ever ate one made by someone else that was covered in Tomato sauce. I was so used to plain that I hated sauce covered rolls and it's been many, many years since I've had one since moving from home to go to college. Seeing you eat one makes me want to learn how to make them, but they'll never be like Mom's...:(
You got some Russian viewers here too, it was pretty entertaining. Those chocolates are from Red October factory and they are pretty famous and popular among all Slavic nations.
hey you probably don't remember me but like i mentioned i'm a second generation korean in russia where i was born and raised and watching you trying out a few gems (or not) of my home cuisine is like "inception" moment where two opposite worlds meet in one. it's so weird to see you trying out птичье молоко (birds milk aka marshmallow in chocolate) or pirozhki or bliny (not blintz).
The blintz you were eating I call it pancakes, thin pancakes. Pancakes and crepes are the same, crepes you make with different kind of foods, like mushrooms and parmesan cheese. Pancakes in Europe are thin and it is also thin in China Then you can make them differently
The blintz is essentially a crêpe (i’ve grown up calling them palačinke) but i’ve never seen them with meat in them. Très freaky. Jam or feta cheese is the way to go honestly
Im half Croatian / Macedonian and comes from Serbia , so I'm 100% Slavic 😁 you have really to try ćevapčići it's ex yugoslavian meat and taste sooooo goooood with ajvar or kajmak . We say in Serbia (Croatia Macedonia too ) to the cabbage roll Sarma 😊 and we eat it with bacon 😁
Baby chocolate is called Alenka, the girl is Little Red Riding Hood.....3rd one is Birds Milk...as if you eating something that does not exist....all Russian chocolates
Not blintz, actually it is blins. They are like a pancake, but a lot thinner. People commonly put meat or greek yougurt or cheese, for sweet blins usually it is honey or vareniyè, which is like a jam, but it is a looot more natural and kind of watery. So chicken cotlet(i am not sure is it right) contains chicken, onions, white bread which is soaked in milk.
the blintz pronouced blinchik/blin and you eat the meat blinchik with sour cream and the cheese is eaten with jam for your taste and you pronouce the piroshki pirashki
I thought you got kimchi when you went to go look for sauces and I was like YESSS kimchi makes everything better then you said it was sauce imported from France. 😒
The cabbage roll is too big and dense. They are usually smaller and lighter and the filling consists of white rice, minced chicken/ pork/ beef, carrots, herbs (dill), chopped onion.
I don't think the thing about conversations is true obviously a guess but I have a friend that rarely finishes conversations and they are male. I guess it depends on the character and how they were raised. Maybe some people are raised with the belief in generalization and say that it is true that men finish conversations more often. It reminds me of the thing where girls go to the restroom together. I am either really lonely like REALLY lonely or I could say it is just a coincidence because none of my friends do it either.
If you think about it, bland european food is probably what made the spice trade so lucrative. I dont think northern europe has a very wide variety native spices.
They didn't, and there wasn't a need for many spices to keep food fresh due to northern europe's climate. There is some european food that is very flavorful, I wish she had the proper sauces for her food so she could enjoy it!
I'm serbian and you are making me really HAPPY with this Vlog :-) !!! Go Mina, go !!! Thank you very much for this Vlog and interducing part of serbian food to the world !! You should try PLJESKAVICA necessary !!!
You should eat blins with sour cream: sweet, salty and the one with the cabbage especially
The one with the cabbage is disgusting
Boris would be proud
In Poland the cabbage roll is called 'gołąbek' which literally translates to 'pigeon' 😂 I've seen people usually eat it with tomato sauce but I prefer to eat it the way you did! I'm kinda hungry now...
Me (a fellow pole) eat it with tomato sauce so it's like eating a pigeon with tomato sauce (or without)
Its a pancake European style, use any kind of jam or whip-cream
She's so cute, she's warm natured and a bit silly in the most sweetest way

Christian Elijah is she a minimalist? If that's what she is, I found another reason to love her more! :D
Berlie Faith Bansag what is a minimalist? She is only saving food for her mom and for her health. :/ I don't understand D:

heeyy, funny to hear how you pronounce Piroshki)) and correct name for Blintz is "Blinyy" its like slimmer version of pancake)
but it might be translated to english as Blints tho...
At the deli, they were labeled "Blintz." Are they called different names in different countries? Or is the blini just the thin pancake and the blintz is a rolled pancake with stuffing?
never had blintz before :o thanks for trying so many different cuisines 😍

The cabbage one is Bulgarian sarma, right? Or do they have them in other countries as well?
Growing up, cabbage rolls were my favourite food. I could eat nearly half the contents of the pan my Mom made them in. It wasn't until my late teens before I ever ate one made by someone else that was covered in Tomato sauce. The blintz is essentially a crêpe (i’ve grown up calling them palačinke) but i’ve never seen them with meat in them. Très freaky.
Jam or feta cheese is the way to go honestly

Love your videos! Best of luck, I ate some scrambled eggs on toast!
Piroshki is good with black tea!
In Russia we usually eat blintz (blinchiki) with sour cream or mayo
Try mashed potato piroshki or cabbage piroshki. This is the real stuff in Russian cuisine.
Try Danish food🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰❤️ but is there a Danish restaurant in cali?🇩🇰❤️
