What a fun session !!! Thank you Paul for keeping us company with this great game !
Fun afternoon moving those palma voilets around Paul, thanks for the games (JP)
Just grabbed this game today from my local store. I won't be playing it any time soon, but VODs like this will fill the time until I do nicely.
Paul, your dwelling placements in the first round were worth 6 points each, not 4. 2 each from your round booster, the round scoring tile, and your faction.
We corrected that during the game 👍
Yep. Realised it later and corrected it :)
Good assessment and thoughts at the end.
Thanks.
I think JP forgot to take the 3 move up on the brown track when he built the neutral tower from technology on round 4.
Final thoughts at 01:46:01
Thanks. Timestamps will be added this weekend.
The guild placement in 1:39:19 is allowed?? I think not, you need to build the factory first

Great play through and discussion! Yeah, the 1st time I played this I found it to be a bit too much to process, but my second play was sooo much smoother. I love the customizability. My only gripe is that there are more ways to score points, which is a trend I’ve been seeing in a lot of heavy euros these days and something I’m against. An overabundance of scoring options clutters a game’s core focal points and decreases tension. I think the best designs avoid this and force players to interact over just the fundamental strategic elements. ..but they can feel more punishing, so it’s a matter of taste I guess.
I prefer AoI to Gaia exactly for the reasons you prefer Gaia. AoI allows a great mix of tactics and strategy. Gaia is way more fixed long term strategy with no one seriously able to rock your boat. I much prefer interactive games so this one is the winner easily.
You're doing an amazing job with your videos!
