Thanks, Nigel. A great collection - a very worthy tribute to the buses of Bournemouth. Particularly liked the Open Top Conversion. Well done! The background settings to the pics also evoked memories of the scene! Cheers, Andy (WWMBC)
Nice collection Nigel. Moved to Bournemouth from Guildford in 1966 and was able to enjoy the last days of the trolleybus sysyem. My favourites were the 3 axle BUT s but they were gone only 4 months after we moved there. Their varied fleet was a pleasant change from the green Rt s I had grown up with.
Ah, I liked the Guy Arab utility. We used to have them on school dinner run between St Luke's and St John's in Winton. Very noisy, with a whistling from the engine!
Why, oh why, did Bournemouth council dispense with trolley busses? As per usual the product of local government who, for once, would have done better in maintaining the status quo.
Fantastic collection. 😊
