BOURNEMOUTH BUS STATION THROUGH THE YEARS

BOURNEMOUTH BUS AND COACH STATION WAS UNIQUE BEING ON TWO LEVELS. THE HANTS & DORSET BUS STATION WAS ON THE TOP LEVEL AND ON THE LOWER LEVEL WAS THE ROYAL BLUE COACH STATION. IT WAS ALWAYS MY FAVOURITE BUS AND COACH STATION AND IT WAS VERY SAD THAT IT WAS DESTROYED BY A DISASTROUS FIRE IN 1976.

I enjoyed two or three visits as a child in the early 70s by explorer ticket from Whitchurch to Andover and Salisbury and then the long joint service down to Bournemouth on a Lodekka. The coach station was also fascinating to me. Great photos👍
