They’re not, they’re very much still the shame just most are now led. You can get addressable emergency lighting systems now but they’re not very common.
I'm a little confused about emergency lighting testing. I've been told to carry one out every week at our shop. There are numerous slots around the building where I have to insert a key similar to the one in the thumbnail. I was told the white lights which come on have to be on at all times along with the little illuminated green dot....is that correct? Or do you just switch the white light on then off again? And maybe the green dot stays on to show it's working? I was just confused cuz if you see the emergency lights are on at all times there's no need to test as you can just see it with your eyes?
No, If when you put the fishkey into the swich they come on and the green led dot stays on this means they are swiched maintained to they can be used like a normal light if this is the case your not testing them, there may be another keyswich to isolate the power when testing emg ltg the green dot will go OFF to show there is NO power the reason to test them is they have a battery so if the power is off you can check that the battery is working if they are on all the time this is not testing them this is being used maintained like normal lights you need to test them by law, If you need anymore help please reply
Thank you.
Things changed, today's emergency lighting systems are much smarter than in 2018.
