I wasn't sure why the wingtip was missing, but I was told that it's totally safe, it just burns more fuel at BA's expense. Thank you so much for your sweet comment Michael!

Thank you so much John! A380 is the only aircraft I don’t feel the acceleration during takeoff, it’s so big and steady. 😄 Airlines need more of those!

Massive congratulations on this critical appraisal of BA to HK. I too experienced the same when I flew two years ago to HKG. I really disliked the narrow seats and it made my feel closed in and claustrophobic. The food was medioca for a business class product. BA seriously has a long way to becoming a five star airline like Cathay and other middle east airlines. Hopefully in another decade, they will improve on their seats, food and service. The trip is really dependent on the crew and you are lucky to get a great set of crew. I was too but certainly had friends who hated their experience with BA and will never fly with them ever again. Thanks again for your video. It has encouraged me to reconsider flying BA again. Regards Hsiang

Totally, crew do make a huge difference to flight experience. One of my recent SQ flights was very dreadful because the crew were so unfriendly and cold. But on the other flights, I had much better experience with better crew even though the seats were older!

You're right. That should've been the first clue.
For the lounge amenities, you can indeed ask them for them at the shower reception and they keep them stocked :) (toothbrush, razor etc)

Hi Jayden 👋🏻. Thanks for another great review. I’ve flown BA several times, mostly because I’m working towards lifetime Platinum status with AA. Because of my age, I remember when BA was truly a world class airline (yes I’ve flown on the VC-10 several times). IMHO, their First Class service is now no better than other airlines Business Class and BA’s Business Class is no better than other airlines Premium Economy. Just my opinion. To me BA stands for Best Avoided. Again, I only fly them to get to AA Platinum Status. I hope they will return to greatness one day. 🧐

The walk way to the Lounge is so cool l love it, but honestly Changi Airport is still the best in the World! The food in the lounge looked great but the showers well room for improvement on them. I've never been a fan of BA the food is lacking in presentation but the snack bar looked great. Enjoyed your enthusiasm 👍

I enjoyed this trip report One World Flyer. What I would like to see on these long, complex flight reviews is an idea of the routing which was taken. Yes I realise the Europe-Hong Kong flights overfly Russia but there can be subtle differences when flying Europe-Gulf.

That airport is Macau International. Quite close to Hong Kong
Thanks for watching! It can’t be Macau because Macau’s runway is off then airport itself connected by taxiways, so it’s Zhuhai very likely :)
One World Flyer Yes, considering you flew over China. I guessed it was Shenzhen or something, but the airport looks a bit different from Shenzhen doesn't it? How much minutes before landing?
If not mistaken, it should be Macau International airport.

Who`d have thought that just 6 months after this trip you did with your mum... covid came about. bet your glad you did this flight when you did. im really impressed with the first class seating and just how much room you have. and the food looked outstanding. i have one question for you... (as ive never flown business or first) can you take your luggage on the plane in first/business with you, or does it still have to go in the cargo hold with everyone elses, and you pick it up off the carousel ? once again.. great flight video
I remember this flight really well too! The crew were really upset when arriving into Hong Kong knowing England had lost to Croatia! You must check-in anything larger than the standard carry-on size suitcase, regardless what cabin you're flying :)
It's sometimes more of a security problem, large suitcase won't fit into the x-ray machine. Good question!

Nice video! The last time I flew BA was in a 789 from LHR to SCL in Club World. It feel so much more cramped in the Dreamliner than in the A380 and 777. And it's nice to see that they have upgraded the bedding, amenity kit and food. But I would take Cathay Pacific in a heartbeat. Because of the lounge at T3, because of the seat and both airlines do not have wi-fi in their 777 or A380. :)
PS: I miss HKG airport and Hong Kong!

1:16 I've heard that Qantas will be using the 787 on the HKG route soon
correct! From all three cities: BNE/MEL/SYD. So we’ll see 747, 787, 330 and 380! More varieties than in Australia! In MEL they don’t see 747, in SYD no regular 787 and BNE no A380 😝 How lucky we are in overseas 😂 Thanks for watching
Cathay will need to up its act, SIA flying A350-10 to Adelaide. CX ,s a330 looking very tired flew back last night. might be worth having a stop over in Singapore HK for the same price.
Rather than in-flight entertainment system, I would rather like to be able to have access to fast onboard wifi so I can watch whatever I like.

Great video Jayden, the shower room for BA looks really run down. Can't compare to Cathay Pacific or Qantas. Club world was a let down, so narrow. I would rather have fewer movies and better response. Thanks for the post! Great job mate.

I respectfully disagree that t5 is better than changi esp with changi t3 ...and the newer t4...wait till t5 gets completed...I don't feel the welcome by the attendant was done professionally..usually on SQ the attendant walks you to your seat regardless of flight status...
I personally like T5 because it's airy and has natural lights coming in, T4 at Changi is much better than T3 but can be even better. I like that they do the security at immigration and not at the gate anymore! And they seperate departures and arrivals

That is typical BA long haul surly greeting. I get the same even OWE. Regional BA greeting is better. You should see Dennis Bunnik review on this product.
I agree! As crew myself this is totally unprofessional. Crew are told customers are en route and to be ready. Unfortunately people have the misconception BA are the standard in aviation sadly it's just not the case.

It has been so long since u’ve done a BA flight review! Well Club World on the A380 isn’t that bad since they have extra storage bins beside the window. But definitely not on the other aircrafts

You actually went with Half a Winglet! Never saw that! Didn’t know that was safe, the winglets are really important with the a380!
I heard that it’s totally safe, but it just burns more fuel (because it’s less fuel efficient)

Nice detailed report! We love the A380 on this route. We flew this in July too. Liked their new catering service and beddings. However, those seats are too outdated. We actually prefer the Premium Economy behind, which feels far more spacious with the same 2-3-2 layout, and this is also our choice of class of traveling BA to London. Yes, your seat is probably one of the best with direct aisle access. If you travel alone, it is rather awkward having to be face to face with a stranger....I always find it difficult to be the first to press that divider button...always felt it a bit rude, don’t you think? The bathroom larger than your bedroom? Shh...don’t let your mum hear that too 😉😜

Yes, there was some problem with the top half of the winglet, so it was removed. The bottom bit was still attached. Thank you for watching and I hope you're enjoying your weekend!

Awesome! Although I kind of question the forwards-backwards layout I think overall (in all classes) it looks much better than Cathay's 777, especially considering that CX is fitting 10 abreast seats in the 777, which is terrible. The excellent cabin design and lower cabin altitude on the A380 really helps and the wider economy seats certainly makes this aircraft my preferred choice between HK and London.
I’ve not tried BA’s economy on A380, but Qantas economy A380 is so comfy because its wide! Thanks for watching!

It was missing 😂 Not sure why, but I guess it would cause heaps of cancellation if they take 1 A380 off service. It's totally safe to fly without it, it just burns more fuel

Good review. For the showers - toothbrushes, Elemis toiletries etc are usually handed out by the person who books you in. I’m not sure about the amount that you narrate on this video - perhaps less is more? :-)

Hi Jayden! A nice review. Many other youtubers despise the seating layout in BA a380 (and 787) business class, is it really that uncomfortable? Judging from the video, i wouldn't like that seating layout too if im in business class.
The beds are quite narrow, and some are incredibly short in length!
My mum's seat 53J is shorter than mine (53K). I tried out her seat and my head and foot could touch both ends of the seat at the same time! I'm not very tall, just 178cm!
