- Well, here it finally is. A very special flight on BA in Club World, a product often considered by many to be one of the worst business class cabins in the sky. But is it really that bad? Watch the video to find out!

I like the BA Club World seat - as long as it’s one of the good bulkhead / exit row window seats (direct aisle access & no stepping over another passenger). The window seats are very private and you don’t see other passengers. Upper deck Club World on the 747 is fantastic. The quality of their new Club World bedding is really good - in fact, more comparable to First Class.
I totally agree mate. I have yet to try Club World on the upper deck of the 747 :)
Surprised to have seen a lot of negative comments on this video. Great trip report, it looks like an awesome product and I can’t wait to try it.

I personally quite like the BA Club World offering. It can be a bit awkward stepping over someone sitting at the aisle, but the seating arrangement does mean that I can have a window seat while still being able to talk to my wife through the little divider. (I usually sit in the window seat for daytime flights as my wife is never stepping over the legs of someone fully reclined in the aisle seat, though for night flights - usually eastbound from the US - I sit in the aisle as I don’t generally sleep while travelling)
I’ve only experienced it on 747-400s though, and some of those are a bit dated (usually the ones slated for disposal in the next couple of years) but some have had a refresh. I do love the upper deck of a 747, as it really has a private jet feeling.
I’ve got an A380 to LAX next month in Club World and I’m looking forward to seeing a newer cabin. I’m hoping to try out an A350 at some point soon.
I agree, Chris. Having travelled with my mom on this flight, I found the dividing screen to be useful as well, but I can see how it can be a bother for solo travelers. Hope you enjoy your flight on the A380 (if you haven't taken it already).
Outstanding Trip Report man! From what it looks like, you seemed to have enjoyed BA's Club World but honestly the Turkish Airlines Economy Class IFE seemed much better than the BA flight you were on. You can check my TK trip report if you would like to fly them in the future. Liked
Thanks bro, I sure did! Yeah, BA's IFE is quite slow for sure, but the content is good.
Lovely flight review but these rear facing seats are not my favourite choice.I also believe that BA's business class is way far from other airlines.
They are a bit far from the competition, yes, but that should change with the new Club Suite. Thanks Yannis :)

Totally fair point mate. Yes, the seat design definitely does not come without its quirks (and frustrations), but I enjoyed it nevertheless :).

I'm not such a fan of the seating, but I do like flying on the A380. Very fun plane. I hate BA's safety video though, it gets old, very, very quickly.

Doesn't BA charge you to choose your business class seat in addition to the business class fare?
I prefer the BA 777 club class, id fly economy plus if i was on a A380 but thats my opionion
honestly the whole BA A380 layout is an insult to the good people at airbus. Economy class is some of the tightest *with special footrest AV box* and unbelievably bad food. I can't ever imagine paying good money for BA. Having said that, my last Avios points flight on a 787 was the nicest flight ever, lovely FA, really tasty food and great value for money.

QQ: did you pre-allocate your seat (either paying in advance or having executive privilege) or did you wait till 24 hours before check in?
I ask because I’m still debating whether it’s worth paying £360+ extra for the two of us to allocate our seats now, or just take the punt and see what’s available 24 hours out when it opens up to everyone.
I just booked my business class seat for a Sept 2020 flight and locked in my seat. I needed to be near my sister. So if you are flying with a partner it is best to prebook the seats.

These clubworld seats are being phased out now, the A380s are due to start having upgrades from 2023.
As of 3.17.23 I can confirm. I have a 2 legger from JFK TO LHR TO IST. Jfk to Lhr is old club world seats and lhr to ist is latest club suites. Same way coming back.
When are the upgrades kicking in?
@@advikmaniyar1670 For the A380 it's still unknown I did read somewhere it was starting this year. The 787-8/-9s, 777s are currently being redone at Cardiff. 787-10, A350s are being delivered with the new club suite.

This Biz class seat is terrible, outdated! This 2-4-2 config. is more suitable for PE class

It's decent
Flew from Doha to London on the Club World opposite seating configuration in Business class. Hate to say, it was awful. I had the window seat and faced my husband in the opposite direction, it was cramped and cabin crew passed my meal through the drop down screen which divided the seats, which was awkward for them and me. if you need to go to the bathroom , you have to crawl over another passenger, if you can as it’s very tight and be careful not to hit your head. The food was average at best and the crew did not seem happy at all. It was very disappointing, although flying on the first leg with Qatar obviously spoiled us as it was amazing, could not fault anything. Have flown business with Qantas which was so much better, so in my opinion it was a flight that I would not wish to repeat. Thi s was over a year ago, so things may have changed, I certainly hope so.

That is godawful. Compare flying from the U.S. to South Africa with Qater vs. BA and decide where you'd rather spend your money.
What do expect? Compared to Qatar Airways, objectively the best airline in the world it will obviously be worse. I have flown it a couple times before and it was actually great.
