    I was a flight attendant for ten years and worked galley on international routes. You ALWAYS count your meals and make sure you have all your catering before leaving the gate. That's complete laziness on behalf of the crew for that flight, and I agree, completely unacceptable.

    • @sma3037

      I had the same problem...they said they loaded the wrong meals on board so they didn't have what I ordered off the menu. Yes a first world problem, but that's not the point. It's the principle.

    I'm a BA gold member and your video sums up why I stopped flying BA business class from Sydney to London. Whilst I can't fault the crew, they're very attentive and friendly, the fact that the business pods are so small compared to the likes of Cathay Pacific & Qatar is not even funny given the amount they charge compared to the other carriers.
    The 2/4/2 configuration is ridiculous, if you’re unlucky to get a window seat, then having to clamber over the other persons legs to get out to use the bathroom is absurd, the pods themselves, are no wider than the seat itself, so little room to manoeuvre or turn when sleeping.
    If you’re on a long haul flight then but want to stay with the oneworld carriers then I would strongly suggest you pick another airline that has a 1/2/1 configuration.

    The seat arrangement alone is enough to keep me out of BA's business class. Being forced to look at someone you probably don't know...with the partition down...isn't what I need. But that's me. Definitely not a fan of the seat designer.

    I don't understand why people always insert "oh it's so much better than economy class so why complain" in their comments. He's making a review of Business class, hence the expectations. Serious;y, would you pay a lot of $$$ for cheap items??? Would it make things better for him to say you know I paid so much for this ticket and I get these cheap blankets and gross looking food....but i guess its ok because economy is so much worse?? Disclosure: I always fly coach because I can't afford upgrades or maybe I can afford it but I can think of so many things to buy with the price of the upgrade. But that's just me.

You were fine as you were flying with your BF but imagine flying solo and having to sit opposite a complete stranger. I hate the BA Business Class with a passion and will never fly again with them whilst they have this ridiculous set up. Also what a poor service you received on their flagship aircraft. I've had better meals in economy with other airlines than what you were given - it looked disgusting and I would have sent it back. I'v just flown with Qatar Airways on their B787 and A380 and the difference in service I experienced to what you got travelling on the British flag carrier airline was vastly superior.

    • @Ryan-nq3qp

      This is what I was thinking as well. My question though is why the hell do British airways not offer simple fabric screen that you can pull either up from the floor or down from the ceiling creating a privacy barrier between the seat and the aisle...That costs literally so little that the price of one ticket for that seat on that flight could have paid for its installation.
      All I ask for is privacy, I don't care if the barrier is made out of gold or if it's made out of film. As long as it doesn't bother me and gives me full privacy, I'm good.

    BA Business is not worth it at all.. I often fly premium economy with them (often getting the tickets on sale or whatever) and it's worth it I guess but to me, I reguarly fly Qantas Business Class and can't recommend it enough in terms of value, service, comfort and safety. Qantas are on it! The two times I fly back to Japan (BA) we landed so hard I thought we'd had an accident.. People were screaming, shit was thrown everywhere.. Not keen to fly with BA much anymore.. Virgin aren't bad I guess.. But anyways, Qantas takes a big hot stinkin' shit on BA in many ways! LOL

      @nadroj-88 3 года назад

      BA used to be so much better compared to other airlines. They must have been going through financial trouble, especially recently. Their ticket prices are cheaper than rival airlines just now but usually they’re more expensive. But the landing thing you shouldn’t blame on BA. I’ve never had a bad landing with BA even when there was large crosswinds. The runway might have been too short for the weight for a soft landing so they had to do a hard landing to be safe. Especially since it’s both the same place you’re going to so what I said is the most likely option

    I flew BA business class a couple of years ago and would have to agree with your comments. I was in the isle seat, and the other person had to step over my legs if I was sleeping or stretched out. They would inevitably bump you and wake you up. I also had a guy in the seat behind me that constantly banged his feet on the divider that was unfortunately directly behind my head. Again this broke my sleep on a long haul flight Sydney to London. Service was ordinary. Really didn’t warrant the money we spent on 2 tickets.

For the same flight in Economy Class they charge around $2,850. Besides being Business Class, where is the $7000 dollar difference? The video showed that the food is not so hot. You really don’t get that many extras, a blanket, eye mask, skin lotion, toothbrush and little toothpaste. I guess what I am saying is why the huge jump in price for not much more?

Always amazes me how people review the little bag that cost nothing as if that is important. Never had a problem with plastic cups/plates etc so long as the food was good and it usually was and I have always travelled economy. Of course leg room in economy is the biggest problem.

    If it makes you feel any better we flew this same route two months ago in first class and it was a disaster. The service was clumsy, literally in dropping and tripping, as well as forgetting completely forgetting several requests. At both dinner and breakfast they were out of my first request (and second at breakfast). In addition, the plane was just looking worn and weary. My full reclining chair was a bit of a nightmare so I was left sitting up the entire flight. It was incredibly disappointing for us because our first experience with BA First ten years ago was phenomenal but in the three times since it’s gone more and more downhill with each flight. The good news? We returned in business class and had EXCEPTIONAL service and while I wasn’t looking forward to crawling over someone’s feet to get to the aisle from our double center seating business class was only 3/5’s full and so the seat next to me was empty. One more thing...the snack area they describe so attractively was an open bag of candy and an open bag of crackers.

    BA Club World aisle seats are so bad you might as well lie on the floor in the aisle, absolutely no privacy whats so ever. A classic case of the designer not taking the customers needs into consideration. I hate being the first to put the privacy screen up, and if you are in the middle seat you have 2 strangers staring straight at you. Considering how reserved and private British people are this astounds me. BA starting to fall a long way behind some pretty basic competition.

    I've done BA A380 LAX to LHR and back in the premium economy section in 2014. I have to say that seems like a much better deal. I get that they're trying to pack as many people as possible in business class but I really don't like business class where not all seats are created equal. 2-3-2 sees like too much. In this, I'd either choose a window or one of those center ones. Even then it seems too narrow or too exposed. I think American Airlines and Cathay have a much better Business Class for direct competition. I recently had excellent service on American, I mean really outstanding, both in Business Class (going out) and Economy coming back. I too have a limited diet and was impressed with the food although a bit bland.

    If you're outraged by this video, take a second to put yourself in the shoes on a Club World passenger. People pay thousands of dollars for this product, and expect service that, at least to some extent, matches their investment. I agree that everyone should be allowed to have a bad day, and I won't avoid British Airways at all costs in the future, but objectively, it's hard to deny that this flight was poor by business class standards.

    • @danseh5159
      @danseh5159 6 лет назад +20

      I highly agree. I love BA for their pilots, if you haven't seen their pilot training, its best in the world. Recently we flew two Club World flights. One on the A380 and one on a 747-400. I must admit that the A380 was perfect although you can tell that there are budget cuts in place. However in the 747 it was terrible, a family was refused food ON BUSINESS. The flight attendant forgot our orders of tea many times and the entertainment system broke for a while. I'm British by the way, so I'd love to defend my countries airline although I do live in America, but I think if I had the choice I would definitely fly on Singapore Airlines or Delta believe it or not. Great review though.

The backwards facing seats may look claustrophobic on camera but I found it just fine in person. For me the real issue with BA is their horrendous service.

      Backward facing seats are used in the RAF for obvious reasons, (better survivability in the event of a crash. Also, when you are not travelling at ground level .eg in a car, what the hell can you see, the ground can be as much as 33,000 feet below you. At one time all my long haul flights use to be a with BA, over the years their standard of service dropped rapidly, so now I use other European airlines and found excellent in providing in flight service(s) well spoken and calm flight attendant's

    Have last flown BA back in '02 when we got amenity kits and real food in long haul economy. Has things changed for the worse since then?

      Niladri Haldar Yes they have. In premium economy, BA serves half a glass of juice and a single granola bar for breakfast.

    I totally agree. I was really shocked to find the standard quality of food and services for the British Airways business class were so disappointing. I have also tried their first class, but however, their first class standard is close to some other business class standard airlines which costs similar or even less.
    However, despite of all that, the crew were helpful in the both cabins First and Business class.

    Thank you for this review, we were going to use BA, BC for our flights home when we move back to the UK from Australia. We will fly a different brand now.

    • @pronunciationwhiz
      @pronunciationwhiz 5 лет назад +1

      You can take the amenities kit they give you home, and pyjamas if you get it, though that's usually in First Class. You leave everything else on the plane.

    When I was a teenager at yhe beginning of the 90s i made some intercontinental travels with my parents. The actual business class food is so similar to the economy class food European airlines served during the 90s

    I am so sorry I spent so much money flying business class 380 with B.A. . It was an uncomfortable nightmare, with horrible food and a miserable flight crew, and we're an easy going ,polite family. I make sure to avoid them at any and all cost now, when I make our vacation plans. Never again British Airways!

      DemDank Memes if you’re paying a premium for business class is EXPECTED to be a nice pleasurable and luxurious experience. They’re not doing you a favour! It’s non negotiable! You’re paying for it after all....

      Maybe this attitude that we should be grateful for getting anything at all explains the lack of quality of BA and most other British service providers.

    • @Maddinhpws

      If I pay a premium sum I expect to get fucking good food. You are not grateful for getting food in the restaurant, because this is what they exist for.

    The thing is, I've travelled on British Airways World Traveller Plus(premium economy) and the food was OUTSTANDING. It was so good, and there was beef steak. The seat was also awesome and I think that World traveller plus is better than club world on British Airways A380. I've also slept very well on my way back to HK on the 777 World traveller plus. I slept for 8 hours on that flight.
