"I'm sorry, little one." I can't fucking believe how good Thanos was in this movie. He is a cut above every Marvel villain by far, including Loki and Killmonger. HORSESNDOGS9 I agree to an extent but I felt Thanos' reasoning was more justified than the Jokers. Thanos felt much more guided and emotionally driven. Thanos' ideology, I felt, was more relatable than the Joker's where he just wanted to "watch the world burn."
Oh, without a doubt. I just think Joker, the laughing madman of chaos is a slightly better villain, because of his actor's portrayal and the way he was written. Thanos is just barely beneath him, but of course, this is all just my opinion.
Let's take a moment to respect our fallen heroes [SPOILERS] Gamora Peter Quill Drax Groot Mantis Dr Stephen Strange Peter Parker James Buchanan Barnes T'Challa Sam Wilson Vision Wanda Maximoff Nick Fury Maria Hill Heimdall Loki Laufeyson
Damn, I’m so glad they brought this back in the latest Hawkeye episode whilst Clint was speaking about Natasha. Also, the mirroring of Clint and Kate, to him and Natasha with this score in the background was so so good. This theme will always hit like a ton of bricks.
You could tell when Clint saw Kate hanging over the edge of the building, he was having a flashback to watching Nat die. You could see the post traumatic stress in his eyes. Renner did a hell of a job.
can you imagine how much it hurt Thanos...a father, who would have GLADLY laid down his life to fulfill his mission...had to lose the one person who he had hoped would take over for him once the job was done.... In the end...his mission denied him even That much....he was never allowed to see her ascend to her rightful place. "The hardest decisions require the strongest wills" Thanos is a goddamn hero who risked it all to save the universe from extinction and conflict....and he sacrificed his own daughter to save us. Sounds similar to another deity who had to sacrifice his only son to save humanity, doesn't it.
@@dalv3739 no, Natalia actually is her true Russian name. It's never said aloud but you can read it a couple times. Romanova would also be just the Russian spelling of Romanoff, which is just the Americanized version
This scene should be taught as how to make the villain a whole character. This movie made a fantastic job at making Thanos an actual person, emotions and motives are all (somehow) relatable. This scene in particular, seeing Thanos crying was amazing and Josh Brolin deserves every piece of praise there is for his performance
(Spoiler, if you have not seen Endgame, don't click *Read More* Wow, the way they repeat this in Endgame when Natasha sacrifices herself is beautiful, in my opinion, the scene with the soundtrack was great.
This scene was easily the best scene of the movie. Why? Because this is where we see how deep of a character Thanos is. It showed that he actually loved Gamora and he cries. It's even more tough when before in the flashback you see him take Little Gamora with him, now in the scene where he sacrifices his daughter he does the same thing when he takes Little Gamora. Thanos is the not only the best villain of the MCU but also the best villain of the decade. Give Josh Brolin a Supporting Nom!!
Hunter Dvorak I agree! I don’t care if he’s motion captured; Josh Brolin deserves an Oscar for playing Thanos. His character dethroned the Joker for best comic book movie villain!
Connor Morley but the Academy are too stupid to know that it is a PERFORMANCE. Yeah just because in motion capturing and it's in CGI, but it's still a god damn performance. Look at how amazing Andy Serkis was as Gollum and Caesar and how great their performances were. The fact that the Academy ignores that they are performances, they are that fucking stupid.
Hunter Dvorak the Academy can be totally pretentious, sometimes. Let’s rejoice about this movie winning number one spot at the box office instead, beating both The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi.
Connor Morley and also Josh Brolin's Thanos is very close to both Heath and Jack's Joker. For best portrayal of a comic book villain. It'd be like this 1. Joker (Nicholson/Ledger) 2. Thanos 3. Magneto 4. Lex Luthor (Hackman) 5. Erik Killmonger 6. Bane 7. Loki 8. Green Goblin (Dafoe) 9. Penguin 10. Doc Ock
Hunter Dvorak Great list! If I have to compare Thanos with fictional villains outside of comic book lore, he’d be on par with Darth Vader or Hannibal Lecter.
honestly think the greatest Character of this decade is Thanos right now. this film wasn't about the Avengers at all. it was played as Thanos' hero journey, yes he is the villain over all. he is evil, but he truly believes what he is doing is right in a twisted way and he goes through all the trials a protagonist would in a story; starting the heroes journey, making progress, self doubt/sacrifice/loosing a loved one , fight with over whelming odds, almost fails, victory, happy ending. it is all twisted. and it is all perfect. I need to rewatch again.
You know people would say that Gamora, Vision or even Spidey death is heartbreaking but I think that Loki’s is actually the saddest cause he finally changed his evil way to good by hearing Odin finally saying that he loves him as a son and also making things right with Thor again in “Ragnarok” . then being by his side in Avengers Infinity war as a brother. He sacrificed himself to protect the only family he had left by giving the tesseract to Thanos and standing up to him. To me Loki is the true hero. ❤️❤️❤️ R.I.P Loki prince of Asgard
!! *Spoilers* !! Loki is still alive, because when Iron man dropped the suitcase and the infinity stone fell out Loki grabbed it and teleported, im sure you know where he teleported.
After watching Endgame, this song has a new meaning, it's heartbreaking, you can literally feel your heartbreak. The saddest thing is as the music plays, you know what scene it's playing with the notes, when the 'fall' to the 'ground shot'. This death hurts me more. There will never be a marvel film like Endgame......
This movie did something that the DCEU will not be able to do anytime soon. It will be very long before they can get to this level. Now that we have had 10 years of the MCU, we know the characters and are emotionally attached to them. The DCEU has not done that with their characters. You barely got any time to get to know the characters. Superman and Wonder Woman were the only ones to get a solo film in the DCEU before Justice league. They just threw all of the characters into a movie with very little background. I am very proud of Marvel Studios of making an amazing movie. In my opinion, Avengers: Infinity War is the best superhero movie of all time, and I guarantee that others agree with me. Bravo to all of the Marvel Studios staff, including Kevin Feige, the Avengers: Infinity War directors, and the cast. They put 10 years worth of movies all into one movie, and they did it perfectly. I am sure that everyone is already hyped for Avengers 4 (c'mon, we are ready for the title), as I sure am. I hope this movie or anyone else involved in this movie will get an Oscar. They all deserve one.
I agree. I grew up with these characters. Year after year, I was coming back to the movie theatre to see the next part of their journey. Never did a film franchise manage to build so strong bond with its protagonists, until now. That 10 years journey with Marvel was SO worth it, because now I can really bond with the heroes (and villains!), understand them and feel something for them. So when Infinity War came out, you know... that was such an emotional rollercoaster. (Of course I cried!)
Only time I cried in DCEU movies was in laughter when Batman says “Martha” and only time I will cry is if Wonder Woman dies while the others survive because they just killed off their best character.
Gotta agree with you before Infinity war the best superhero films for me were TDK, TDKR AND Batman Begins [in that order] then came Infinity war and I gotta say it's better than TDKR [just by a bit], and TDKR is my favorite movie but i don't think anything can top TDK
There was a reason why he had hoped that she would one day sit on his throne....a father hopes for nothing but the best for his child. If only she had tried to understand him....she would have never gone to face him....
not loyalty...if she had known that he cared for her, than she would have never gone to face him. The moment that the Soul Guardian revealed the key to taking the soul stone, she also probably would have immediately taken her life before Thanos could act. But she stood there, laughing at her supposed victory..... ...if only she knew....
Just imagine this song playing. All of the Avengers together at the end...Tony and Steve in front of them all. But, they slowly...fade away. Looking into everyone's eyes....
@@Nathan-hw8yy But Gamora's death was Thanos' key to acchieve the Soul Stone. So... if the heroes either destroy it or take it back to Volmir... then there is a chance she will come back.
Came here after the death of Gamora. Now I'm here after Nat's sacrifice... Endgame, these characters, this story, will forever hold a special place in our hearts. The end of an era. A most beautiful one. One that we had the privilege of witnessing firsthand.
They really had to reuse this track in Endgame didn’t they? I will not spoil the context of what happens but let’s just put it as that it makes this score and scene from Infinity War a lot more powerful. I think the scene in Endgame was a lot more sad while Infinity War’s was more dramatic and emotional. God damn it Vormir.
- Animox - It’s not really Red Skull’s fault. Nobody is to blame. Red Skull is just doing his job, it’s not like he’s the one who came up with the rule of sacrifice.
"I'm sorry my little one" Josh brolin was fucking amazing as thanos, some people see him as a villian but I see him as a man that's trying to accomplish his one goal in life. He was willing to sacrifice everything and everyone he loved to save half of the universe, he may be wrong but he's doing it to save half of the universe.
As much as he was the "villain," no one had it harder than Thanos the entire movie. He was the only one in the universe with the sheer will to carry it out.
How many villains do you know that cry after they've just killed someone to gain ultimate power? Killmonger burned down the heart-shaped herbs, and Loki basically reveled in his power after usurping Odin, but Thanos CRIES. That's how you do compelling villainy. He's easily one of superhero cinema's best villains, and I can't wait to see more of him.
This composition is absolute masterwork. To me it is an exploration of the bridge between triumph and tragedy, and the costs associated with achieving ones goal - exemplified perfectly in Gamora’s like ‘at what cost?’. This song is so beautifully sad and uplifting at the same time which is such a difficult balance to strike. This is the reason the song has resonated so much.
One year later and this song still invokes incredible emotion from me. This song is a masterpiece and can literally be used for any sacrifice as it's tone makes the death feel necessary, but still makes you feel sad and upset about it. {SPOILER}....... . . . . They used it in Endgame and it really made the scene where Nat died feel more powerful. Thank you for everything that you've done for the dying series Russo Brothers!

This scene is where Thanos went from great to all time great movie villain.
I wouldn't say all time, but he's pretty high on the list. I put him just bellow Heath Ledger's Joker.
HORSESNDOGS9 whatever you said dc fans. Period.
Lol, I am a fan of both.
Let's take a moment to respect our fallen heroes [SPOILERS]
Gamora
Peter Quill
Drax

Dr Stephen Strange
Peter Parker
James Buchanan Barnes
T'Challa
Sam Wilson

Wanda Maximoff
Nick Fury
Maria Hill
Heimdall
Loki Laufeyson
Abdul Majeed are you sure they all actually died though?
Jazmin Viquez yes, for now they're all dead
Someone who hasn’t seen the movie and/or knows nothing about Marvel must look at this list and be devastated
I swear I don’t remember Sam Wilson dying
MonoJuice he died after thanos flicked
Damn, I’m so glad they brought this back in the latest Hawkeye episode whilst Clint was speaking about Natasha. Also, the mirroring of Clint and Kate, to him and Natasha with this score in the background was so so good. This theme will always hit like a ton of bricks.
SAME
Small details like that is why I love connected universes
You could tell when Clint saw Kate hanging over the edge of the building, he was having a flashback to watching Nat die. You could see the post traumatic stress in his eyes. Renner did a hell of a job.
This hurts sooo much! 😭😭😭
can you imagine how much it hurt Thanos...a father, who would have GLADLY laid down his life to fulfill his mission...had to lose the one person who he had hoped would take over for him once the job was done....
In the end...his mission denied him even That much....he was never allowed to see her ascend to her rightful place.
"The hardest decisions require the strongest wills"
Thanos is a goddamn hero who risked it all to save the universe from extinction and conflict....and he sacrificed his own daughter to save us.
Sounds similar to another deity who had to sacrifice his only son to save humanity, doesn't it.

The moment Gamora dies and Thanos shows us why he is one of the best villain of all time.
tori huh what's your favorite villain of all time?
Your comment is a joke.
tori huh Darkseid is so boring
"Why should I sympathise with Thanos?"
Because he's right.
Not really. He could've just used the reality stone to create unlimited resources.
Rest in peace, Natalia Romanova, for being the sarcastic and witty assassin that has been there since the beginning.
There is so much wrong with this comment
Natasha Romanof bruuuh!!
@@thewastedgamer6395 lmao
@@dalv3739 no, Natalia actually is her true Russian name. It's never said aloud but you can read it a couple times. Romanova would also be just the Russian spelling of Romanoff, which is just the Americanized version
truly heartbreaking...
I love your profile pic
This scene should be taught as how to make the villain a whole character. This movie made a fantastic job at making Thanos an actual person, emotions and motives are all (somehow) relatable. This scene in particular, seeing Thanos crying was amazing and Josh Brolin deserves every piece of praise there is for his performance

I'm pretty sure Red Skull plays this audio in a boombox everytime lol
It'd be like this
1. Joker (Nicholson/Ledger)
2. Thanos
3. Magneto
4. Lex Luthor (Hackman)
5. Erik Killmonger
6. Bane
7. Loki
8. Green Goblin (Dafoe)
9. Penguin
10. Doc Ock
Hunter Dvorak Great list! If I have to compare Thanos with fictional villains outside of comic book lore, he’d be on par with Darth Vader or Hannibal Lecter.
Literally THE saddest scene in the movie. Man, did that get to me! :(
I love that they reused this score in Endgame
I'm always tearing up just listening to this score... So using the same piece in Endgame had me sobbing before *it* even happened..
Joker was our greatest fear.
Thanos is our greatest threat.
HORSESNDOGS9 that is very f***ing true
Both had great Quotes too.
The accuracy of your comment...
honestly think the greatest Character of this decade is Thanos right now. this film wasn't about the Avengers at all. it was played as Thanos' hero journey, yes he is the villain over all. he is evil, but he truly believes what he is doing is right in a twisted way and he goes through all the trials a protagonist would in a story;
starting the heroes journey, making progress, self doubt/sacrifice/loosing a loved one , fight with over whelming odds, almost fails, victory, happy ending.
it is all twisted. and it is all perfect. I need to rewatch again.
This theme coming back not only in Endgame but even partially in Hawkeye, remembering Nat's sacrifice is amazing
After watching this film, *I CAN SEE THIS MUSIC*
Fat and Furious I listened to this with my eyes closed, damn it works.
I can't even stop listening to this music. It's so powerful.
Now in more ways than one 💔
Really shows that Thanos did actually care for Gamora, and that he actually loved someone else.
The soundtracks were beautiful and exciting. Without it no there would be no shaping in emotion. Definitely deserves an Oscar. Endgame deserves it.
They won't give it.
No need of keeping hope.
And anyway Oscars are shit now.
SRKbros ☹️
Josh Brolin gives an oscar worthy performance, and it's cgi!!!
Doruk Evcim both Josh Brolin and Andy Serkis deserve Oscars!
Connor Morley agreed
Lawrence Stevens continue
What about Tom Holland
And they didn't even nominate him at this years Oscars....so sad!
❤️❤️❤️

Oh, this still hurts...
What a cliff hanger
Except she didn't manage to hang on to the cliff....
Yourson Isold i laughed do hard at this, i scared my mom next to me xd
Wait avenger 4
Especially Josh Brolin
Zach Rieman tom h got an oscar

Thank you guys, this movie is amazing especially about the soundtracks, they will stay forever in my mind ! I'm sure. 😭👍 Amazing !
There was a reason why he had hoped that she would one day sit on his throne....a father hopes for nothing but the best for his child.
If only she had tried to understand him....she would have never gone to face him....
He still would have sacrificed her if she was still loyal
not loyalty...if she had known that he cared for her, than she would have never gone to face him. The moment that the Soul Guardian revealed the key to taking the soul stone, she also probably would have immediately taken her life before Thanos could act.
But she stood there, laughing at her supposed victory.....
...if only she knew....
And this soundtrack play again in end game,at the same place. My heart is broken. 😢
Just imagine this song playing. All of the Avengers together at the end...Tony and Steve in front of them all. But, they slowly...fade away. Looking into everyone's eyes....
That song is "I Feel You"
I was crying in the cinema, Im gonna miss Gamora
Lawrence Stevens May be flashbacks and if guardians return ,they might talk about Gamora all the time and ....there
@@Nathan-hw8yy But Gamora's death was Thanos' key to acchieve the Soul Stone. So... if the heroes either destroy it or take it back to Volmir... then there is a chance she will come back.
Hunter Dvorak I hate Red Skull for this. And you are right. In Endgame it was a lot more sad.
- Animox -
It’s not really Red Skull’s fault. Nobody is to blame. Red Skull is just doing his job, it’s not like he’s the one who came up with the rule of sacrifice.
I mean....they both stayed dead; they aren't coming back ever.
- SPOILER -
Everytime someone goes to Vormir, this song will come out. And it is much sadder in 2nd one
THEY DIDN'T REUSED THE SAME SONG. IN ENDGAME, THE VORMIR MUSIC SCENE WAS SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT FROM THIS MUSIC
"I'm sorry my little one"
Josh brolin was fucking amazing as thanos, some people see him as a villian but I see him as a man that's trying to accomplish his one goal in life. He was willing to sacrifice everything and everyone he loved to save half of the universe, he may be wrong but he's doing it to save half of the universe.
Not to mention that he actually showed respect for his victims, particularly Tony Stark.
As much as he was the "villain," no one had it harder than Thanos the entire movie. He was the only one in the universe with the sheer will to carry it out.
This same theme returns later in the film with Scarlet Witch and Vision’s “I just feel you” moment at the end. Brilliant work
It's a little different but gives you the same feels
this gets me emotional and gives me chills every time. The suspensions and releases really are so powerful. Amazing piece
"Tell my family I love them"
"you can tell them yourself"

Untill now i'm still cry 😥😥
