Woke up this morning with the news about keith - it totally knocked the stuffing out of me - very sad stuff - R.I.P mate - you will go down as a true legend...
@ricky771able Whilst I agree Liam has always been the brains behind the Prodigy,I don't think anyone should underestimate the contribution made by Keith. His vocals and appearance on the 'Firestarter' video are what certainly one of the reasons that helped the band go from a big band to a mega big band.
to say kieth is just a dancer is a bit harsh i recon... do you seriously think he doesn't have some input to the tracks liam is making. I'm sure a lot of the ideas come from kieth and Maxim, its just that Liam is the one who puts it into practice.

@richard staff They talked about this themselves. It's because Keith is more or less the face of the band. Meeting Liam on the street, you're very likely to miss him. Keith is a different animal. Live performance is where they began and it always was their domain. Aside from the absolutely amazing music, one of the things that made them so popular in the first place was Keith wrecking shit up on the stage and that's something other bands didn't have. There was an actual interaction between the band and the crowd - he projects the energy of the music. Listening to an album and actually seeing the performance are two different things and the performance is where Keith contributes the most.
Leroy ŵas the same. They were just dancers and most likely set up some wires for amps and lights etc. It was a cool time with some great music. Once they made it Keith's punk persona came through, they were all punks in the sense they didnt give a fuck, much like the sex pistols.
Prodigy are kings...Liam is so cool and got a shitload collection of Lps and makes sick music...though I think the progidy were better right before fat of the land...Firestarter/Breathe days....
I have been watching a lot of interviews of the band past and present and there are not that many. The major ones are at festivals. As they said in one interview "It's a necessary evil" To be honest they don't need to? If I had the opportunity I would attempt to do something different. Always my thought process when intervening a band. Every band is different. The golden rule listen and do something different.
@ricky771able I have to disagree about the firestarter video making them go big,liam always stated with apassion he didn't want the band to be big just for people to buzz of the music,they hate the corporate side of the music industry and it doesn't matter to them if they're famous or not,it's not about that for them,i been following them since liams demos in early 1990 and he al;ways stayed true to his underground roots,being the biggest band isn't important to him!
@BlueTrueScouse With respect that isn't a very big contribution,keith has said himself he's never contributed to the recording,writing,mixing,playing apart from a few vocals.Keith,leeroy,sharky and maxim were basically novelties for the stage,maxin is a good mc but talks in an american accent which is pointless,leeroy got fed up with being just a dancer as he had material he had already written,keith was merley a dancer,people say he's a genius i'm sorry liam doesn't the respect he deserves
@ricky771able Keith is a cool guy but to say he is a genius for dancing on stage and screaming a few vocals into a mic and making one video that's just putting him on apedastal,liam is a musical genius,he writes all of the albums,records,mixes,does all the production,everything he is the prodigy.Liam will always be the real prodigy and keith flint certainly isn't a genius,maybe an intelligent guy but all he's ever been is a dancer.I wish more people would understand that!
Okay why in every interview does keith act like the spokesman for the band,liam is the genius behind the band,from day 1 liam was writing tunes way before he met keith,leeroy and maxim,all keith has ever done was dance on stage,he never contributed to any writing,recording but still people seem call him a genius,genius of what,liam has wrote,recorded,produced everything since day 1,stop putting keith on a pedastal,he's the genius behind the band liam is and always will be
