    I know you do these as a public service but I don't know if you actually realize how much you help people with these. I am definitely a fix it yourself kind of guy. My finances just don't allow anything else unless it is a dire emergency. Small appliances I have no problem with. But the major appliances like furnace air conditioner water heater giveaways intimidated me. I know that most appliances aren't that hard to fix once you understand them. And I just want to sincerely thank you we're getting need to work on this type of appliance. You really have no idea how good it feels to know that if something were to happen I can probably fix it myself without worrying about dying from doing the wrong thing. It truly is a great feeling to know that there is someone who takes the time to explain this stuff so that Layman can understand it and do their own repairs for small things. Again I just thank you for taking the time to make these videos and educate people like myself so that we can feel confident working on these things ourselves.

    The wiring diagram from the internet differs from the wiring diagram on the water heater and the way the lower thermostat is wired. Although functionally it still works correctly it might lead to some confusion.
    On the internet diagram the wire from the top thermostat switch goes to the bottom thermostat switch first, but on the heater diagram and how it’s actually wired, the wire from the top thermostat switch goes to the bottom heater element first.

    Please , could you advice , can dry drain pipe cause a construction lime smell coming from all vents around a house . The smell happens when the ac starts and then it kind of goes away and comes back or smells lighter until the unit shuts off . Then the smell happens again when the unit starts. The coils and the motor look clean . The smell just started shortly maybe a week after we started turning on the heating . Drain pan is totally dry and drain pipe looks dry as well . There is no dripping from the drain pipe outside . Do you think dry drain pipe would cause that smell ? Thank you , appreciate your honesty !

    Hi, I know this video is about water heaters, but I have a question about my Intertherm furnace. The light flashes 3 times indicating the pressure switch is closed but the furnace will turn on for 1 full cycle but then will not turn on again until I power off the furnace for about a minute and then power on the furnace. It will usually start and again just run for 1 cycle. Then is when I see the light blink 3 times and then I power it off and then on again and it runs for 1 cycle. If it's a bad pressure switch or a dry rotted hose, why would it go on at all? Would that indicate it may be a different problem regardless of how many times the light blinks? Thanks, Dan

    Great video jay, so what is the most common problems in this type of water heaters ?

    • @WordofAdviceTV
      @WordofAdviceTV  2 года назад +1

      Thank you! One of the problems I encountered more often than others was that with these big 105 gallon water heaters, the power company will actually cycle power on and off to it during particular hours. The idea behind it is that the Marathon water heater is very well insulated and with such a giant storage capacity it will only need to power up and heat the water once or twice a day. The problem is that sometimes that hot water would actually not last long enough. (usually families with kids that move in to a new house) I have been on the phone with the power company more than once asking them if the address I am at is currently in their "off-cycle" since the heater had no power going to it. Most people don't know this but this power saving service is optional and homeowners can opt out of it.

      Hey Mr. M! We actually got my wife a normal ring (white gold and a diamond). As for me, I don't really care about the ring, nor did I want to spend a lot on it so I bought a Tungsten Carbide ring off of E-bay for about 30 bucks. Oh and I saw the same ones at Kohls later for $200-300. 😄

    Three women go down to Mexico one night to celebrate college graduation. They get drunk and wake up in jail, only to find that they are to be executed in the morning, though none of them can remember what they did the night before.
    The first one, a redhead, is strapped in the electric chair and is asked if she has any last words. She says, “I just graduated from Trinity Bible College and believe in the almighty power of God to intervene on the behalf of the innocent.” They throw the switch and nothing happens. They all immediately fall to the floor on their knees, beg for forgiveness, and release her.
    The second one, a brunette, is strapped in and gives her last words. “I just graduated from the Harvard School of Law and I believe in the power of justice to intervene on the part of the innocent.” They throw the switch and again, nothing happens. Again they all immediately fall to their knees, beg for forgiveness and release her.
    The last one, a blonde, is strapped in and says, “Well, I’m from the University of Texas and just graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering, and I’ll tell ya right now, ya’ll ain’t gonna electrocute nobody if you don’t plug this thing in.”
