    YAN YI FUNDAMENTALS:
Some of the Fundamental Training Methods that are part of Yan Yi - The Esoteric Art of Researching Intention. This is a primary training method in the Xing Yi Academy School for looking deeper at the Intention and Energy, Breath and Movement, Internal and External. We practice this as a non-martial art but our understanding feeds back into our Xing Yi and combat.
Xing Yi Academy offer online live classes, private tuition, distance learning courses and in person training with classes, private tuition and seminars (upon arrangement). www.xingyiacademy.com/onlinelearning

Thank you so much for your mini-series. Genuinely, if every young practicioner took just that, even thought it's take longer to cultivate, their Xingyi would become almost flawless.
I look forward to joining the Fundamentals program very soon.

You have mixed Yiquan Jianwu with the moves of Xingyi. Very good and useful way to train the Xingyi moves

Hi Ken. Although I have trained some Yi Quan I wasn't taught Jianwu. This is Yan Yi as taught from my Xing Yi lineage. My teacher was taught this from his first teacher who was Malay Chinese and whose grandfather is supposed to have trained with Guo Yunshen. So I suspect that Yan Yi and Jianwu have a common origin and are similar in nature. One thing we don't tend to do in Yan Yi is to "fa li" or express force with a cutting of energy flow which is common in Jianwu. The principles of Yan Yi can be applied to any kind of movement but as my focus is Xing Yi then the body mechanics and movements of Xing Yi are often those that I express. I'm glad you like it and thanks for the comment. All the best - Paul

@@Xingyiacademy Could I know the Chinese characters for Yan Yi?
Hard to know the meaning from the Roman characters.

@@kenlek869 Yan means study or research and Yi is the same as Yi Quan and Xing Yi it means ‘Intent’. Together it’s simply- study intent. The aim of the practice is to allow the intent of the environment/nature around you to lead your movement and from this you learn things you may not have been aware of previously.
