    I really enjoy your family. Refreshing to follow along with you all. To me you are so “real life”. Tired of always seeing families that live in big beautifully decorated homes. While I’m happy for them and I’m sure they’ve earned it, I relate more to your lifestyle. We have a small modest home and thoroughly enjoy where we live. Our family did not always have what we wanted but always what we needed. In this technical world your children are learning to navigate in but still have a wholesome childhood, playing and learning so much about nature. My husband has eight siblings and was raised in a 1100sq.ft. three bed one bath home and we understand how easily it can be done. My father in law worked part time in a grocery store as a second job. He would always bring home the canned goods that were dented and missing their labels. Had many laughs when we would open the surprise and it would sometimes be dog food or the random items not many people liked.

    Thanks for sharing Julie ! As far as I know , we don't have a Restaurant DEPO in our area .....only thing we have is Sam's , Gordon's and Costco ! Anyway , I used to work for Sam's club in the cafe' and I used to buy their pizza dough , and different toppings ! The dough comes frozen , and the toppings I did get from there , I would divide them up into smaller portions and keep in the freezer ! It was so helpful ! I used to make a Stromboli with the dough too .... And BTW ... there is nothing wrong with a little bit of splurging once in a while ! I would love to get the blocks of cheese for that kind of price ! That's a steal compared to the grocery store ! Any way , have a blessed day !

    Hiya Beautiful Kreke Family 🖐. I have fond memories of my mom shopping for the family of 8 and she would have us store the gallon cans under our beds. You did great and know y'all deserve to splurge on Chocolate 😁. Appreciate your videos. Hopefully the cows are doing better. Stay safe beautiful people. God Bless y'all and the homestead 🙏✌❤😊

    My son works at a store that supplies for restaurants. I love buying the big boxes of produce. Like peppers, I chop up and freeze for easy dinner prep. Or this year I bought peaches and plums for preserving.

    We don't have a restaurant depo here either. I do shop like that though from an Amish store. It is funny 1/2 the things are offered for sale by the case, but you can tell when out of towners are around because you get the dirty looks from buying in cases. SMH. There stock changes up a lot so we shop whatever is the better sales and it always seems to round out what we already have. I only shop every 4-8 weeks due to health issues. So much easier to unload 10 or so boxes than a bunch of bags from a "normal" store. Our cheeses usually run $13-18 for a 5 pound block, but so much cheaper than buying slices and it is real cheese versus the oil cheese products. Nice haul!

    I love buying in bulk. Thankfully we have an Amish Store bulk store nearby. I actually started making my own sour cream. So easy. And my own yogurt. Next I'm trying cream cheese, that i can make from my homemade yogurt.
    Oh and have you ever tried making pizza dough from your sourdough yeast?

    • @jasonandjulie
      @jasonandjulie  3 года назад +3

      Yes I do make pizza from sourdough but I like to have another option also. I make yogurt also, but haven’t tried the sour cream. Do you have to purchase a sour cream starter for every batch or can you save some from your last batch to use for the next like you can with yogurt?

    • @minnamae25
      @minnamae25 3 года назад +1

      @@jasonandjulie nope, you can use your yogurt or get one that has the active cultures. I just fill a mason jar with heavy cream, throw in a heaping spoonful of yogurt, little sir, cover it up with a towel, throw it in the oven with the light on for about 12 hours. Let cool, put in the fridge for another day and taadaahhh, the most delicious sour cream. 😁

    • @minnamae25
      @minnamae25 3 года назад +1

      @@jasonandjulie i understand the different options. These days my all day nausea is awful. Always asking the husband to grab a frozen pizza, or anything that can be cooked quickly. Oh how i can't wait for this phase to pass.

    Something that I use there, switched to, that has really been great is the pink dish soap in 5 gallon bucket. I'm able to just refill a large pump bottle when i run out.
    The other thing is the business size toilet paper and holders. Its wonderful to not have to change the TP as often. I realize its not pretty but its a quality if life changer. I don't have many children like you but I have extended family that comes over on the weekends.
    Oh, the cooking oil too. Big families need alot of cooking oil and thats needed on hand at all times.
    There are alot of goods things there, makes we want a walk in fridge. 😏

      We have a local one too and am not a business owner either. But at the height of craziness known as 2020 I called to see if they were allowing non business owners shop there. And they were! I cannot remember if I was charged a fee or surcharge but it was worth it. The beef we got while expensive was the best tasting we had had in a long time and once we cut it into more manageable sizes for my husband and I, it lasted a long time. You may want to give them a call they just might be willing g to accommodate you.

    Are y’all gluten-free ?? We’re gluten free, I have 2 kids that can’t eat it at all and it was crazy when we stopped eating gluten they had a huge growth spurt and finally started putting on weight.. Their little bodies weren’t absorbing anything and just running to the bathroom after they ate. I’m trying to find a good gf bread recipe.

    • @jasonandjulie

      None of my kids actually have celiac, but one of them is very sensitive to gluten, and the rest of them seem to do better without it! We try to avoid enriched products, because they are enriched with synthetic vitamin Bs. I do bake with fresh ground wheat flour that i ferment for at least 10 hours
