I agree that real lea9 handmade are better. But don't forget about the design and actual function, "what women actually want" as well. Big companies have long history of research and know-how. And craftsmen, obviously, are MALES. They don't actually use the bags. I have met a male watch strap craftsman and let's say he's one of a kind. He said you can't just simply sized down the men's bigger strap size, it's required a lot of adjustment. Typical males craftsman won't even bother. Most male craftsmen are just assuming what comfortable for women, they're wrong most of the time. One of them is my own dad, very sweet and loving dad, but he also thinks bag with giant padded handles are comfortable to carry, and I was like "I can't even grip that!"
