God let’s us walk through things so we can witness to those that have no hope, who are lost in addiction. Because a drunk will only listen to someone who knows where he is and the total loss of control and pain that is there.
Life is full of sorrow and suffering no matter if you drink or you don’t. When you drink you put life on pause and everything revolves around the next time you can get drunk. You are a SLAVE to the alcohol or drugs or sex or whatever you’ve made a idol in your life, there is only ONE who is fit to be your God!

Abusing yourself ( over indulgence) of anything isn't good. One doesn't have to do complete abstenance of everything like having a drink with a meal or eating a larger than normal desert etc. Abusing meds or non- medical drugs will destroy one. One doesn't have to try to be a "saint?" to be good and honest to yourself. Live your life as to where you are & feel as great as you can.
