In my area I can run into celebs, rockstars, producers etc. And I don't have to go very far. Arizona is the best place for "famous" people b/c nobody bothers them here. So they are free to go wherever they want b/c they know they wont be hounded on by people or the press.
I won't lie.. Much of this transcends mexican, black, and white culture back in the 70's, 80's, and 90's. I was born in 88'. I'm white, and most of this is how I was raised too. Wasn't even ghetto, it was middle class, but my mom wouldn't have any b.s.. I'm glad she raised me this way too, it made me a good person. Hit your kids, it's good for them. Better to hit them now and teach them valuable lessons in respect, and limits, than getting themselves killed later over something idiotic.
