Chris Hillman has always been committed to excellence. It shows with his association with the Byrds, the Flying Burrito Brothers and the Desert Rose Band. He was the one on the Byrds who discovered legendary guitarist Clarence White. Clarence White's lead guitar in "Time Between" speaks for itself.
DRB was quite simply the best band around in this period. Chris HILLMAN, Herb PEDERSEN, John Jorgenson, Bill Bryson, Steve Duncan and the inimitable Jay Dee MANESS, all stellar musicians in their own right. Nice to see Jay Leno with a copy of the vinyl ‘Pages of Life’ album. To anybody who hasn’t heard it, Chris and Herb’s 1996 Sugar Hill release ‘Bakersfield Bound’ is a stunningly beautiful album of country music, Bakersfield style! Jay Dee is on fire on this ‘desert island disc’. Released on a great sounding CD only.

LOVED the DRB back 8n the 80s! This song has such a powerful impact. So well written. My fave was Start All Over Again" (just because of the guitar parts), and "She Don't Love Nobody (bc when this song was released in 88, I was in high school and didn't date, and bc my eyes are green, like the girl the song refers to).
