Patti you bring a peace to me that very few people are able to do. l find you so genuine and caring and yes, you are wise. l am 67 years old and often live in the past. l think about what i could have done differently until i become depressed. l needed to hear your message today. You bring me peace and i am so happy to hear you are feeling better. Please keep making these videos while at your daughters home. Even if they are short videos. You are so soft spoken and i always feel better after watching one of your videos and hearing your stories. Your voice alone has a calming influence over me. l think of you as a friend.

Hi Janice. I feel like I often live in the past also. I'm 59 and feel like my best years and times are behind me and I don't have much to look forward to. I"m retired and have too much time to think. I'm prone to depression and unless I keep busy I think negatively. I feel like Patti is a friend also and look forward to her vlogs. I also love Suzi from Alternative Aging. Another sweet soul who is uplifting and fun to watch...

What you said about not living in the past really hit home with me. I've been a widow for almost 20 years (I just turned 69 in May). I've been thinking of my years with my husband so much lately, and I know I need to not forget - I never could, he was the man of my dreams - but to live in the present and look to the future and all that it holds. The best is yet to be. Thank you so much for helping me in so many ways. ❤

My husband and I were sick for 2 weeks with Covid. We went to dinner at Texas Roadhouse on a Friday and by Sunday we were horribly sick. Headache, muscle pain, fatigue, shortness of breath and sore throat. Took covid tests as a precaution and we both had it. We were vaccinated and boosted, but still very sick. Still getting over fatigue. Glad you recovered.

The part of your video about not living in the past hit me in a profound way. I’m 58 and lost my 54 yr old husband to cancer 4.5 months ago. He was a freakishly smart and very talented musician and songwriter. It’s funny you mention student because each of us always mentioned how much we learned from each other, as we had different skill sets. But we definitely felt like we shared a brain. We were together 26 years but had only gotten married in June 2019. I’d just lost my brother to a very similar cancer in Jan 2019 - he’d been living with us during treatment and hospice. I can’t help but think that time taught Mick & I lessons that we didn’t know we’d need just 2 yrs later when Mick was diagnosed. I keep reliving every moment of our time together and, while that seems to get a tiny bit less with time, it’s still difficult to not “go there.” So…I will take to heart what you’ve said and try to keep reminding myself. We didn’t have kids together but he was a great bonus dad to my daughter. I don’t have grandkids but my brother gave us his beloved red heeler cattle dog, Annie, before he passed. And now Annie and I help each other through all of the illness and loss of the past 5 years (counting my brother’s illness.) All of this is to say Thank You for making this video. I look forward to more. 💙

Great video. I am 79 and when I was 65 I took care of my Grandaughter 4 days a week for 5 years. I gave her my undivided attention for 8 hours each day. We also played, sang, read, built with blocks, colored, ate and had a ball all day. She learned to talk and do everything very young because she had adult input all day long. It is some of the most cherished memories I have. I felt like a kid again and had as much fun as she did. Now I tell her about the things she said and did and we laugh about it. That time was a gift from God for me.

Hello Patti, first off, the video from your phone is clear and the background very pleasant You are such a caring mother.Glad to hear you are feeling better and can be there for your daughter and her family at this time. Its always reassuring to have family come around to help out in times of need.Yes indeed, its way better to keep looking forward and not get stuck in the past through grief of things gone or no longer the the same, including our own health. Being creatures of habit, it can be hard sometimes to except change, but when their is no going back, we just have to push forward as gracefully as possible The serenity prayer is ever so helpful to keep things in perspective, when things become overwhelming.. But grief and mourning is a process and the healing time is different for everyone to process and heal. For sure coming to understand that it is essential for our own health and peace of mind, to keep looking forward and not stay stagnant mourning the past. This is also mentioned in the Holy bible, that we need to press forward and not keep looking back . Love your sweatshirt:be kind. Thank you for sharing your wisdom and kindness.you are in my prayers through my Lord and Savior Christ Jesus.Amen! ❤🙏❤🍃🌹🍃

The past 5 months have been extremely hard, but every day is getting better. Tonight I found you again, and know for the first time that you are from Pensacola. Patti I’m a grandmother to three beautiful boys, 7,6 and 18 months. My daughter is now separated from their dad and she’s the best mamma ever imo - far better than I was with my four children. I was always cleaning and doing chores of some sort but my daughter does her chores when they are at school because nothing comes between her interacting or cuddling her boys, she’s amazing.
My grandsons also watch me, we always play together and cuddle up, something I regret not doing so much of with my babies like I should have. This time around I have time on my hands and those boys are my absolute world. Like most grandmamas I relate totally to how you feel about your precious babies and they are blessed with having you as their grandmama. 💖

Patti, I got SARS COVID2 pneumonia. I was in hospital 2 months. I was told I had a 40% of living thru it. I refused the vent as I knew I’d probably not get off that alive so I asked for external forced air ventilation. I was out of it for about three weeks. I became so weak I couldn’t hold a plastic spoon. I had to learn to walk again. I was just happy to be alive. The nurse told me most of the Covid patients in the ICU had been vaccinated. I had one Vax but had a terrible reaction to it. I got home on a walker and oxygen and physical therapy. Now a year later, I have long covid. My hair fell out, my skin got scaled, my fingers stopped bending and brain fog was bad. My lungs are scarred and I am short of breath. I’m exhausted all then time. My new normal. I’ve hardly been sick at all my entire life. I’m glad you had it easier and I’m keeping you in my prayers.

Your story about staying young by keeping active is true. I felt energized this morning to clean up my garage and get rid of stuff I have stored way too long. It made me feel so much better just organizing stuff to go to charity. And some electronics will go to a special place for disposal or recycling. Thank you Patti for making me realise that growing old is part of our lives. It’s okay to live with memories good or bad, but, not to stay stuck in those memories forever. It’s okay to let go sometimes and be kinder to yourself. For 12 years, after my husband death I only wanted to be in the past were life was easier and more comfortable. My husband and I met at 18 and 19 years old, l was 10months older than him. We married very young when he was 22 and I was 23years old. He died suddenly of a massive heart attack at 55, 13 days before my 56st birthday and one month and 12 days before our son’s wedding. I was in a state of shock for a very long time and I closed myself to the world. My life was home work, work home. I even brought work home so that I could be busy with something as long as I wouldn’t think about my pain.
Than my grand children were born and I became nana and with that I got a new role. My son moved to Finland in 2019 and on my first visit that year for Christmas I started to like living again and I have been better since then. I will be 70 this year and believe it or not I am looking forward to it. I still have a full time job and I work minimum of 9 to 10 hours a day and I love the fact that I can still have a senior position and my brain is still working fine 😄
I really loved your conversation and I can say that today I was the student 😊 I realised that life is made of all kinds of memories and those memories are part of us but we must not duel in it. Thank you for helping me accept that.

However, I do believe that if she ever needs to take medicine, she will take it. Medicine has come a very long way in my 70 years! We all wish we could say "I don't take medicine" but when you have something wrong with you that can be helped, (like seizures) you will take medicine. I was eating for her to said that she and her husband tested Negative before the trip specially going to a house where babies lived. I got covid but never felt really sick. It was like when you at getting a cold but did let anyone inside my home until I tested Negative. The worst place to be when your inmune system is weak is inside a plane since a lot of people can be infected and nobody prevented them to fly. International travelers were required to show proof of the Negative covid test done within 24 or 36 hours before the flight.

I, too tested positive for Covid on Feb. 1 after feeling like I had the flu for 2 days. I suddenly was so weak that when I got up to go to the bathroom, I passed out and everytime I tried to get up I would pass out again. I didn't have my phone close (I live alone) so it took me 2 hours to slide on the floor to call 911. At that time, I didn't know I had covid, I thought I had the flu. When the ambulance got there my B/P was 60/44, they were freaking out and wanted to get an IV going. Long story short, it was covid. I was in the hospital for 2 days. The fatique was overwhelming and the shortness of breath. I took the Paxlovid also and an inhaler. It is now March 5 and while the fatique is better I still have SOB when I take my dog for her walk twice a day! I am shocked that your daughter would want you to be around babies when you just had Covid!!! That seems very dangerous to me as a nurse!! No one else could help???

My niece is an ER RN here in Southern California. It's very frustrating for her when people especially of a certain age who are at risk for severe Covid, or sometimes even worse, the virus's parting gifts as she calls the probable long term damage. But that being said, most of us will get it. Knock on wood I'm a unicorn at 61 and haven't had it. I love you Patty and so glad you're doing well! Just remember you can't be there for your kids, if you don't take care of self first. It's no one's business your decisions. I follow influencers for their makeup and style, their lives are their own. The only other two cents I'll give is, if you're still testing positive, it's considerate to stay away from other people to help stop the virus merry go round. You never know who you infected along the way. I don't mean you have to be a hermit but if you do go out while positive mask up with an n95. My 83-year-old uncle passed on from pneumonia brought on by Covid, he contracted it from his housekeeper who was still positive and didn't mask because she said she got too hot. God bless everyone. Patty, the setup you have and your phone is good. Don’t fret about the quality not being adequate. We who love you connect with you because we love YOU not your setup and/or equipment. You have such wisdom and insight and I agreee with the thought that people enter and leave our lives in seasons for reasons. I have learned this over my almost 73 years and am thankful now for the hard lessons learned and taught. Keep improving in health and stay as positive and caring as you are now. You are my inspiration. You are a ROCK STAR to me.

I so agree with your 'student' 'teacher' lesson, I have had so many people move on recently, and I have had to also, it's comforting to hear your experience, and what you say is comforting and validating, thank you. 💚 Please give us more.

I commented on your other video - saying that your lipstick shade was a few shades too dark for you. This shade that you are wearing here - films so much better and looks much younger on you. You are such a beautiful lady, you are probably a bright or cool summer - in the Color Me Beautiful type color analysis system.

What a profound video. I do believe every single person who has come and gone in my life was a teacher or the student. And all have left something behind. Even though I married in 1968 during the Vietnam war and my husband left when he got home... I would never have had my beautiful son who turned 50 this year. And had given me three grandsons!!!! So though it was so painful at the time, and I was heartbroken.... I could never have known what was ahead for me. And I don't look back with regrets. Life happens. We have good times and bad. We make good decisions and some not so good. I will be 73 this year and have loved and been loved . My life is my life. And I am grateful to still be here. And have been the teacher and the student.

The ending of your talk today - “I believe people come into our lives for a season, a reason, or a lifetime, and when it’s over it’s ok to let it go” - this set off cowbells in my head as I realized I had lately been stewing about losses both in the recent past and the extremely deep past (stuff from my twenties - 50 years ago!). Needless to say did I ever hear the words- It’s ok to let it go! When it completely sank in, I just laughed out loud both in relief and at myself! Thank you Patti, I’m so glad you’re well and posting, I think your talk today was the best advice I’ve ever actually heard. 32:05

I drink 1 tea spoon of Turmeric with a little warm water 4 days a week and 3 days make a tea with ginger and honey to avoid getting sick. Taking lemon and honey as a booster, Vitamin C and zinc each benefit various systems in the body but they both support the immune system and reduce the risk of you getting sick. May God continue to bless you, keep you healthy and safe.🙏💕🇨🇦
