You created a task manager with enough depth and simplicity where it fulfills just enough of my needs, without any extra functionalities that would serve to overwhelm me. Thank you
I wonder if the tasks (or rather subtasks) can be further broken down in to subtasks 🤔. I usually like to break down my tasks in to smaller subtasks. ,
Perfect. Period. Thanks for following the KISS rule and leaving the "ton of steps further" up to those of us who can handle them. This is eminently useful for those of us who aren't so proficient. Once again, you demonstrate a genius for instruction. Cheers!
I'm trying to make a master task list where some the projects and subtasks are recurring and others are not but I need to track them. ex. Project Clean House > sweep, mop, wipe(recurring-habits needed to be tracked) + paint outside walls & inside walls(one time task) Is it possible that all these tasks are in one master list that can be used again and again?
Needless to say, amazing tutorial and super useful! Would you happen to know if it's possible to create automated mentions/notify other people based on task status (I.e When a task/project is 100% done, notify @Project leader) using either formulas or another solution? Regardless, you have a new subscriber here (with the bell and all notifications of course!) and looking forward to your next video!
This is great - thanks for sharing your brilliant talent! I've been looking for a template setup for taking meeting notes with a way to flag specific items so they'll show up on my task list. If you are ever feeling up to that challenge... :)
Well... the problem is the missing recurring tasks, which are not possible in Notion (yet). Would you replace another task manager like Todoist with Notion?
Great video, you really rock. I was wondering, is it possible to update a template and automatically update all the pages that are using this template ?
Hi, I'm not able to understand how the priority works. Does Notion automatically understand "High"; "Medium"; "Low" or is that the order of sorting in the priority settings?
Great video with some interesting ideas! One question... are there pros/ cons to having both "projects" and "tasks" in the same database? I currently have them set up as separate databases. Wondering if it's worth the effort to go ahead and change it to ONE database. Thanks.
Pros.... They are all in one place, making it easy to turn a task into a project if needed or to see both tasks and projects together. The big one is you can easily see tasks a projects both in the one same calendar view. Cons.... The properties can ge long and messy, you'll have some properties that apply to projects but not tasks, and some for tasks but not projects. Can sometimes be annoying seeing the extra properties.
You can do it yourself, just enable CC option in the video settings. It's an automatic feature RUclips generates and if a presenter is talking in a calm manner , it can really catch up well.
Okay! I think I found a bug.🐞 When I add a new subtask in "Tasks" table it adds a row in the "Projects" Table. I have to actually go inside a project to add its subtask. :/
Yes, this setup is designed to add tasks through the projects database and to check through subtasks in the second database. If you want to add a subtask through the tasks database, make sure to connect it to a corresponding project (or parent task).
Is there any way I can previously add subtasks in a project template without making it forever tied to the template? So if it's checked in new project it remains unchecked in the template? Thanks!

Your idea to create a column to have a custom sort was brilliant!

Your videos are the most helpful ones I have found for notion! Thank you so much for all the work you put into these tutorials!
Thank you for watching 😃 much appreciated
Amazing! This is by far the best guide i've ever watched, very simple yet so effective. Thank you so much!!
Thanks!

I didn't even know I needed this!!!! BRB
thank you SO much !!
that was exactly what I was looking for, for so long and it just appeared in my recommendations!
❤❤❤
Thank you so much! I will need to learn this a little bit more to adapt, but everything is very clear and logical.
Holy smoke you are the best! Thanks for the clear explanations.
Thank you, that template is fantastic, It will help me a lot. From my heart thank you
Super helpful and exactly what I was looking for! Thank you for a wonderful walkthrough. I learned a lot.

Probably through the API you can do that with hooks and something like Zapier. I wouldn’t know 100% but it seems feasible.
Great video Red! Useful ideas to complete my system, good Sunday!!
Great video, just looking for the task management then it shows up. Thanks a lot!
Thank you!!! You are so inspiring!! Also you're explaining all the features so detailed!
wowwww you are my new hero THANK YOU FOR THESE!!!
Thanks for this video - really helped to unlock me!
Great as usual Sarah! I will use this to overhaul my existing system. Many thanks!
That's her first name?

Great tutorials! They have been of great help to me. Thank you.
Would you know a workaround in Notion to do what Excel does with index?

keep moving Red

Hi,
I'm not able to understand how the priority works. Does Notion automatically understand "High"; "Medium"; "Low" or is that the order of sorting in the priority settings?
The sort is based off of where the selections are in the drop down menu. If high is at the top, the sort will assume you want that first.
Nice I likey like this, I again need to edit my gtd dashboard a bit now 😅
Why you use one database for project and task? Is this way is better than separate database?
You can use either method :) Projects can also be “parent tasks” so u may want it in the same database.
@@RedGregory so for the notion engine it doesn't matter?

Good Video for fresh! Thanks a lot!
So great , you are amazing
Hey, thanks for this. Incorporated in my workspace! Super. I have a question, what is the logic behind the sorting of the "Select" category?
To sort priority of subtask. The rollups sort the parent tasks, then the select will arrange the subtasks from high to low priority.
Hello, I really like your videos but I don't understand English very well. Could you turn on the subtitles? Your content is amazing

How would I connect this task database to a class database? So that every task shows up in its corresponding class page?
Relate the project to the classes database and create a roll up for the tasks database so that it shows on both databases
