I have done it like you but I faced with that C:\Users\ASUS\hashcat-6.2.6>hashcat.exe -b 'hashcat.exe' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. What did i something wrong
My issue with this was the hashcat files I extracted were inside of another folder also called hashcat 6.2.6. Make sure you don't have the double folder copied to the C drive. just the folder before all the actual content. It is hard to explain in text. When I extracted files, I had the extracted file folder. inside that folder was another folder called hashcat. inside that folder are the files. copy the second folder, not the first. hopefully that explains it to someone in the future.

It is because you are an using a CPU from the stone age. Even if there will not be an error, then the process will take a very long time
i downloaded hashcat from the official site, but in the folder there is no hashcat.exe
the windows antivirus recognizes it as a virus.. turn off real time protection
my mistake with this is that i downloaded the sources instead of binary file. the sources doesn't have .exe on it

You are typing the file name, maybe you have the wrong characters. just see if it's executable and type it as it is there

if u are running on a VM then just go to VM hardware settings and increase the allocated ram (8 GB is good) or u may to increase ur physical RAM
