Chicken Scratch Apologetics. Jehovah's Witnesses don't believe in "The Holy Spirit, just "Holy Spirit". They deny he's a person, and instead say it's an "Active Force."

Again, thank you, I appreciate the hard work you put into the research , for us, I pray you are blessed that you can keep helping us, I’m craving to hear these things, I need reinforcement, it’s hard to have no body to speak to about the bible and I do not trust watchtower, it took years to feel I found the way, whew? With my whole past spent at the k h and now, m learning, now, out of that org, it was a close call but I’m holding tight to save my crown. I never wish to be without again, I found my way when I began celebrating the memorial in my home, with m children and their girl, now I finally know what it feels like to feel that Holy Spirit , it is amazing to find the truth out of that rel goon, on my own, but Jesus said where there are two or more gathered in n my name I will be in their midst , that is very true, after move into my new home like I did last year and before, we will be celebrating the memorial again, partaking. I find it hard to believe I was rejecting Jesus unknowingly sue to ignorance but I was there, I get why it’s hard to reach a j w as. Was one , now I have to learn patience. I was a j w and they are so hard to wake up, I was so scared , I thought I’d never be forgiven for disobeying the G B and studing the bible sans watchtower, I thank God every day for my awakening and pray everyday for continued protection from the dark side

I have been a Christian for pretty much my entire life. Grew up in it, ran away from it, came back to it. I currently have a wonderful lady coming to see me once a week. She is JW. So she and I have started having these discussions. They literally do not teach anything about ancient Hebrew writings and how it’s interpreted….they had no idea what I was even talking about when I brought this up.

BTW Mr LOD, I am reading a book recommended by David and Vivian Aspinall called "The Apostasy that Wasn't, the Extraordinary story of the Unbreakable Early Church by Rod Bennett..
it sets out to prove the Holy Spirit never left the Early Church as some people suppose with their conspiracy theories like the JWs and the Mormons, but emphasises the Holy Spirit even with Constantine etc was working with Early Christians Fathers all the way through to current day.

One American based cult has stated The Holy Spirit is an active force, a cult member recently wrote "When you GRIEVE the holy Spirit, you actually GRIEVE THE OWNER of it, THE FATHER."
As a Counsellor for 16 years, I have not known any Active Force to come into my office for Counselling when it was grieving. I might contact Jordan Peterson as he might have counselled these active forces.

Why would Jesus say "him" if he meant "it"? Yes, WT, there's a reason the disciples believed the Holy Spirit is a person. It's because Jesus said so.
Helper = Comforter = parakletos = one who pleads another's cause before a judge, a pleader, counsel for defense, legal assistant, an advocate. How is any of those not a person?
I love Acts 13:2 -- in one short verse, we see that the Holy Spirit:
- Speaks
- Makes choices
- Gives direction
- Makes plans
- Is self-aware. I've never heard a physical force quoted as using the first-person pronouns "I" and "me".
I'm sure one of the usual WT apologists will raise the objection that if a demon can possess a person and the holy spirit can fill (possess) a person, you would need one Spirit for each person that needed filling. What a shame to have such a limited view of an infinite God.

According to Romans 1:9, we are the holy spirit:

And nothing is worse than betraying what’s in your inner person as told in Matthew 12:31:

We can agree that The Holy Spirit is presented as a person in several scriptures ( *which you clearly presented* ). However, *when all scriptures placed together* , it becomes very clear that *The Holy Spirit is a force which emanates from Jehovah God in order to exert his power and carry out his will* .
As an example: But Jesus said: “Someone touched me, *for I know that power went out of me* .” (Luke 8:46)
How is The Holy Spirit described as ? *Power* .
Word for power there is “dunamis” word usually meant for miracle. This doesn’t disprove the spirit being a person, the miracle to be able to heal this woman must be intelligent, as it’s rewriting here biology.
This text is clear. Here Jesus Christ refers to The Holy Spirit as “ *power* ” *coming out from him* . This is confirmed in Matthew 12:28 and Luke 11:20.

You’re stuck on this idea that if the Holy Spirit had power, it can’t be a person. My argument, is that it is powerful, it can be poured, unleashed, but is also a person, and that person is God.

When you look at scripture with a firm preconception, you filter everything you see in that light and will bend scripture to fit that preconception. In this case, the preconceptions are the result of thorough indoctrination.

The thing i remember more than anything was there were no bibles, just WT magazines and everything was read from that. All the questions and answers were in the WT and it was so childish to see people raise their hands and read the question in the WT and then the elder running the show would ask for an answer. This was read verbatim from the magazine. Then the Elder would compliment the persons asking the questions and same giving the answers. The whole thing was scripted. So ridiculous. So contrived.

Sermons were 45 minutes. A real eye opener. No Bibles in the Kindom Hall were used.
