Hello there, yes it is a lovely comfy make which I recommend! No one can believe that my seat belt isn't adjustable, something to definitely look for in future but I have made the cover now and it's sooo much better! Yes Mr Salesman.... it definitely makes a difference 🤣.

I just made two tops off of that butterick pattern and you are absolutely right the pictures on the front do not do any justice to what's actually in the package. They could not have picked worst pictures than what they did but my two tops did come out nice and I like them

Those makes are great. I think most car makers make your seat belt adjustable. Check and see if where it is attached to the side of the car, that it is adjustable. It should be able to slide up or down according to your height. Slide it down so it lays on your shoulder more and not grabbing your neck. You might have to pinch the buttons in to make it slide or some such trick.

Best way to clean an iron, turn it on and when its hot, rub a paracetamol tablet over it. You will need to use tweezers to hold it. Honestly, no idea how it works but it does! Love the hoodie hug dress, I will definitely be looking at that pattern! I didn't realise you were a theme park person, enjoy Paultons. Hope you've had a lovely week and enjoy the week ahead. xx
Hi Jen, thanks for the iron tip, I had already heard that from Adam I was just too lazy to try it....at my cost!!! Lesson learnt eh? Oh I love a roller coaster ride and that park is just so great at any time of year, have you been? The dress is a really good pattern, only downside was the fact it was a PDF and you know me, not a massive fan of printing and sticking and it was 48 pages 😱. We've been to Paultons a few times but definitely due another visit. Unfortunately it isn't covered by our Merlin passes. The European fascination with Joann’s amuses me, I don’t typically buy much fabric from them at all. (Based in the US) They do have some Lyocell fabric I’ve liked a lot, but they are known to carry inferior griege (base) goods at times, so you never know. The patterns and notions are great, tho. The other Butterick pattern you showed with the interesting neckline has a pair of super interesting pants that have a two piece front. Really nice, have made them up. Happy Sewing!

Yes I indeed have had issues before with same pattern, size but different fabric. Even woven and woven has been an issue for me in the past! AND the other day I decided on what my next make will be. Looks like we definitely have a hurricane headed our way now. Ugh! The local authorities are telling us to use the week-end to prepare. Well, we're as prepared as we can be for any sort of major storm. This coming Tuesday and Wednesday could be quite "hairy" around Florida.

Thanks, Carole! I am feeling good today. Usually when I catch a bug, I'm not down for long at all. I just heard on the news that Canada's eastern shoreline is bracing for Fiona to hit today. I thought she would just fizzle away out at sea but oh no! H.Ian is supposed to pick up strength after it hits Cuba and moves out to sea for a bit. If I lived on the western coast of Florida, I'd be really worried. They could be hit real hard. We live more inland but we still see strong winds and heavy rain and some damage. Early next week, we'll be setting out our "hurricane supplies" to have everything ready to go.
Do you happen to remember how you put together the welt pocket? I am making these pants and don't understand what to do with the pattern piece that doesn't have interfacing applied.
Hi there, we are away this weekend so I can’t look at the pattern. However on this version I actually did normal back pockets instead of the fake welt one. I have however done that years ago but was disappointed it was fake and not a real one. It is my intention to change that if I make those again as I like working pockets. @@onegirlcreates someone did mention to me about sending off the patterns to Fabulosew? It's the cost isn't it, not only are the patterns expensive, you then have to pay to get it printed. I'll happily use and Indie pattern but only if I can buy a physical pattern or for something small. Fussy and lazy aren't I 🤣. Happy birthday to your son 🥳x

Thank you Lorraine, I am lucky that the pattern just seems to fit me right, yes a perfectionist would alter the rise and taper the legs but I'm happy with it as it is! Adam is an extremely kind person and I owe it to Jen for creating this Friday Sews world in order I could meet him and everyone. ☺️

The European fascination with Joann’s amuses me, I don’t typically buy much fabric from them at all. (Based in the US) They do have some Lyocell fabric I’ve liked a lot, but they are known to carry inferior griege (base) goods at times, so you never know. The patterns and notions are great, tho. The other Butterick pattern you showed with the interesting neckline has a pair of super interesting pants that have a two piece front. Really nice, have made them up. Happy Sewing!
Ha ha it isn’t so much the European fascination as France and Germany I know have amazing fabric stores, just the South of England I think and me particularly!! As you say that Butterick pattern seems really good, I’ve almost finished the top and am very pleased with it. I will definitely try the trousers on your recommendation thank you. Try using a baby wipe to get rid of the mark. I volunteer in a charity shop and regularly use wipes to remove marks on clothing.🙂

I agree about Stephanie, love listening to her :) I have just perfected the fit on McCalls 7937 trouser pattern, however I have found they come up bigger with different fabric. Have you found this? Yes I indeed have had issues before with same pattern, size but different fabric. Even woven and woven has been an issue for me in the past! In that case it was the fact that one fabric was more tightly woven that the other, who knew that would make such difference?! I hope you get your trousers sorted 🤞🏼. Have a great weekend 🍁

Hi Carole! I can't wait to see my Friday Sews either!! LOLOLOL...I have to get it filmed today. I didn't do very much sewing in my sewing nook this week but I have a few things to talk about. AND the other day I decided on what my next make will be. Looks like we definitely have a hurricane headed our way now. Ugh! The local authorities are telling us to use the week-end to prepare. Well, we're as prepared as we can be for any sort of major storm. This coming Tuesday and Wednesday could be quite "hairy" around Florida.

Thanks, Carole! I am feeling good today. Usually when I catch a bug, I'm not down for long at all. I just heard on the news that Canada's eastern shoreline is bracing for Fiona to hit today. I thought she would just fizzle away out at sea but oh no! H.Ian is supposed to pick up strength after it hits Cuba and moves out to sea for a bit. If I lived on the western coast of Florida, I'd be really worried. They could be hit real hard. We live more inland but we still see strong winds and heavy rain and some damage. Early next week, we'll be setting out our "hurricane supplies" to have everything ready to go.
Do you happen to remember how you put together the welt pocket? I am making these pants and don't understand what to do with the pattern piece that doesn't have interfacing applied.
Hi there, we are away this weekend so I can’t look at the pattern. However on this version I actually did normal back pockets instead of the fake welt one. I have however done that years ago but was disappointed it was fake and not a real one. It is my intention to change that if I make those again as I like working pockets.
