I totally feel you on your “Yall” top not liking close to the body tops or too much of a narrow curve! I have way too much midsection fluff to wear anything tight and the more I age (64 soon) the more fluffy my middle becomes! Lol! What a great make for your ‘pie’ friend. Too cool. So creative with meshing together the patterns for your pants. That is just too much thinking for me! Your outfit is wonderful! You have GREAT makes!
You did an amazing job on those pants! Love the outfit, and I absolutely adore your sets! This is something I truly enjoy wearing in the cooler months as well. They’re easy to throw on, and you can make them even warmer by throwing a heavier vest or jacket over them too!
Andra. Love the monotone look, almost always. I like sets which makes it easier; one does not have to think when gathering clothes at the start of each day when all "cylinders" are not firing . .... I also think they are rather chic. Your outfit not only looks lovely but I bet it is comfortable as well. Cheers. J
Thank you so much, Joan! I totally agree! I wear dresses a lot in spring and summer for those very reasons - looking put together without a lot of fuss and planning, and still being comfortable! Love your firing cylinders analogy! 😂💗
You are so skilled! Ohhh, to be able to mix & match & change patterns to make the perfect outfit!! I may make teeny tiny changes to something I'm making but I still need to follow a pattern pretty much right on. Happy Sewing!
You are such a super cool seamstress, Andra! This set looks fab on you; the color really complements your skin tone, too. 🙌 The story behind the pants is reminiscent of my mom taking me pattern shopping when I was a teen; always look beyond the pattern envelope image to discover what one can create. 💗🌸
Way to think outside the ‘envelope’ on those pants,Andra! ❤They came out gorgeous! That Butterick top is next on my list for my Bday t shirt😂 And that chenille is so cute! Great to see your videos as always! ❤-Mary
Wow. They came out great and look so nice on you. I have the toaster top pattern and ribbed fabric. I should have enough to make pants also. Thanks. Have a nice day,
Hi Andra - lovely outfit! You look so great in it. I love your innovation. Just wish my crazy life allowed me to sew more. I need to try and sew in little chunks here and there, Just so many things to do. Not sure what things would be like if I wasn't retired! But I am thankful I have time for my parents (both 91 each needing different care). Keep inspiring me! Take Care
👍🏼👏🏻🙌🏻 winner, winner. I’ve been into matching lounge sets this winter. I have been playing around with a pattern I love to elevate them a bit so I feel comfortable wearing them out and about. I think I might do the opposite and use my knitting pattern with a woven stretch fabric. The Toaster Sweater is a TNT for me and I’ve made a set with that as well.
Thank you so much, Jan! Totally agree with you about elevating them! I do the same, so it doesn’t look like I’m wearing pajamas! 😂 I love your idea about tweaking your knitting pattern! That sounds amazing! Keep me posted on how it goes! 💗
Your two piece is lovely Andra. The colour is so nice. I've made 3 of the toaster sweaters with the split hem but I haven't tried that tee shirt pattern. Have a good weekend 😊
Wow what a set! 🧡. I can't believe you hacked my favourite most used trouser pattern😂 but with amazing results so it was worth it. I love that version of the toaster sweater and have made so many, as you say it is such a quick make. Fab set well done ❤ x
Thank you so much, Carole! I love the fit of those pants using knit - elevated, and doesn’t look like pajamas! Let me know if you try it! Totally agree about the Toaster Sweater! One of my all-time faves! 😘💗
Hi Andra, great job on the pants! I probably would have given up after the first couple of patterns 😂 I have been wanting to give that toaster sweater a try but still haven't gotten around to it yet. Yours looks great with those pants and the color is very flattering on you!
Thank you so much, Mitzi! I was determined to make a pair of pants! 🤣 You absolutely must make the Toaster Sweater! I think you will love it! Keep me posted! 💗
Very nice set!! I love your thinking outside the pattern attitude toward sewing. Quick question: when you size up on patterns, do you do anything to the shoulders to make sure they still fit you? That McCall’s pattern fits you so nicely at the shoulders!! Xx 💞
Thank you so much, Izzy! I have broad shoulders and a broad back, so, I can get away with not needing to adjust the shoulders when I size up on that McCall’s pattern! The neckband is just a smidge too big on me, but, it doesn’t bother me enough to adjust it atm! 😂💗
I love “sets”. Monochromatic is very flattering. That fabric looks buttery soft. Miss you girl!!!!!❤
Thank you so much, Trish! Miss you! Can’t wait to see you again! 💗

I am not a fan of anything too close-fitting! Thank you so much, Debbie! 💗
Yep, already knew it and this was yet again more confirmation: you're a genius. With a TN accent. 😘😘😘
🤣😘😘😘

Thank you so much, Myra! Love sets! I made one for summer using the Ashton Top and a pattern for some culottes! 💗
Great job, this set is super cute and the pants fit amazingly well! Thank you for sharing😊
Thank you so much, Brenda! I love the fit of those pants in knit! 💗
Really like the slimmer style of the knit pants. Sew brave 🙃. Definitely paid off.
Thank you so much, Nancy! I do, too! It keeps them from looking like pajama bottoms! 🤣💗
They are great pants and the tops too. Well done for going rogue, scared but turned out great💕
Thank you so much, Liz! I was desperate and determined ! 🤣💗
Wow. Very clever. I love your matching set.
Thank you so much, Cynthia! I am so thrilled it worked! 💗

Thank you so much, Lenore! 💗
What a good idea to note the date on the pattern envelope.
I am so glad I did that! Otherwise, I would have had no idea Jen gave it to me!
Looks fantastic!! I love the way you came to pick the pants pattern!!
Thank you so much, Kris! I was determined! 🤣💗
looks Great! I have that same "proper trousers" pattern, but never would have thought of using it on knit fabric. Thanks for sharing.🥰
Thank you so much, Becky! It totally works! Much faster and easier, also! 🙌🏻💗
Y'all that top is so cute!
Love all your makes, you are so creative Andra ❤❤❤
You are too sweet, Cathy! Thank you so much! That top pattern is one of my all-time faves! 💗

Love love!
Thank you so much, Carmen! 💗
I really like the long sleeves especially love that neckline. Very nice fit for pants too. I have to practice more on the fit for my flat bum LOL 😁
Thank you so much, Laurie! Any pants pattern with darts in the back would be fab for you! 💗
Awesome
Thank you so much, Diane! I am so pleased with how it turned out! 💗

Love your pattern hack on the pants and your outfit is so cute on you! I have both of those patterns!
Thank you so much, Jackie! Have you made either of them? Let me know if you try the pants in knit! 💗
I have made the top twice in a sweater knit. I would like to try the pants in a knit! @@AndraMakes
@jackiegreen8412 Love the Toaster Sweater! Keep me posted on the knit pants! 💗
